Just kidding (sort of). I think there were XBOX live problems occurring yesterday that affected sign in and user authentication, so my guess would be that those problems are still ongoing. Why it would affect you in offline mode is a mystery, unless the XBOX actually tries to verify that your copy is authentic even when you’re supposedly offline.
Addendum: Just realized you may be on a PC rather than XBOX, but the same thought applies.
I’m really ■■■■■■ about it. This is inexcusable for a company the size of MS.
but really… that is just a little too dramatic for a video game.

Yep I was in offline mode first. Got the warning, then clicked online…restarted the SIM to see if there was any updates then clicked offline again then restarted the SIM again…still got the warning again. In that order…? But it fired up just the same.

Ah, OK. You would think that “offline” truly means “offline”, but again, who knows? It certainly looks like it’s trying to authenticate your copy over the internet, and if so then the XBOX live problems going on seem like a likely culprit.
I haven’t tried mine today, so I don’t know if I would see the same thing. I’ve just given up on smacking my head against the wall trying to make this thing work.
All The Xbox system servers are down on and off these past few days and today, and on top of this SU9 disaster. There is a perfect storm going on right now. Im with you guys. I miss flying too. this coming week we need this hotflix/patch. -Xbox series x
I hear ya brother. I can bare it in offline mode for now till its fixed. The only thing I miss is how nice the scenery looks with Bing Maps turned on that’s all. I don’t dare use photogrammetry when its online. Stutters like crazy sometimes. Bing Maps if good enough for me !
I’m wondering if I should do another complete reinstall..? Could make things a lot worse me thinks…? I dunno…?
My advice would be not to do it. I’ve tried several reinstalls, including factory resetting my XBOX once, and they had no effect at all. I’ve seen many other users saying the same thing, though to be fair I have seen a couple who said it helped them.
If you have the time, it certainly won’t hurt anything, but the chances it will achieve any improvement are very slim.
going to give 2020 a go tomorrow morning with some changed settings and if no joy going to fire up the P.C and get fs 2004 flying
lets hope the hot fix works “when” it turns up and doesnt bust anything else
I can’t open up the sim either, I am getting the “you must authenticate in the Microsoft store” error. Xbox user
i hit ok the second time and it loaded up in the new normal long load time

I’m thinking that too. No point really. Oh well, it is what it is and moving forward…la la la life goes on. lol.
Get this though, I can access everything on the website on my phone but every time I go to the Community and click Forums…I get a black screen nothing else. Every time I try.
I flew the Kodiak for just over 3 hours today. The world map ran smoothly on the first try, I put a lot weight in the box, 2 passengers and was happy. Short.
If I hadn’t closed the game I would still be sitting in front of the loading screen i think. The blue bar needed about 8-10 minutes to raise to the end, then I continued to wait.
nothing happened.
I hard quit the game and restarted again.
I emptied the cache, even though I disabled it, and loaded the bird again. On the way to CYPO (thanks to another thread here) the loading screen passed very quickly and the flight went well. The flickering windows and reflections are still annoying.
It feels, like there are lightning and thunderstorms.
no ctd but still problems since SU9.
I just left Teterboro, NY heading to TO, ONT, (YYZ) about 30mins ago. 6:04pm right now and flying smooth, very little buffering. Cessna Caravan. Of course Auto Pilot is on.
I flew a few more times again and every other time I got push button to start screens. My TBM930 Screen is only up for about 5 seconds and the game takes less than 2 minutes to load to menu.
I’ve only been doing VFR around the islands as that dumb turbulence effect is annoying(and I don’t want to commit to some long or specific IFR flight). But the generic ATC for basic T/O, Landing, and ground ops seems somewhat normal again. I don’t see any patch but it’s somehow different(yet the same with the graphical bugs).
Kind of strange it doesn’t start the same way every time, and I quit out completely each time. I still keep seeing that ‘download complete’ notification each and every time I go into the game after about a minute in the menus..
