I’m wondering if the recent account verification and connection issues are caused by Microsoft frantically messing with the server-side code in the background? Naturally, without any word from above this is just conjecture - it really would not hurt Microsofts image if they just gave a little feedback to the community as to what steps they are taking and when.
I’ve reduced settings, limited my flights and flight time since SU9 landed, the trouble is, I am slowly losing interest now - pre SU9 I was planning and making VFR flights on a nav map using protractor, ruler and E6B flight computer then flying them, between that I was doing pattern training from various airports, working my way slowly up from the C152, C172, DA62.
If i try a longer flight it starts getting jittery then the “will it” or “won’t it” CTD feeling comes in and that takes away the whole enjoyment. I dislike it being called a “Game” as for me it’s way more than that, it’s a Simulator and I was treating it as such, even to the point of studying real flight-training books on flying and navigation, a “game” to me is Grand Theft Auto and sadly, I have been using that much more than FS2020 lately. ![]()
I really can’t see why we never get any feedback from above, it would help repair some image damage and cost them nothing at all, MS surely must realise that this is more than a game to so many, do they really not care that much???
They have created a fantastic piece of software in FS2020, built up a massive user base of loyal followers who in many cases spend heavily on add-ons only to let it sink into self-destruction by releasing poorly tested and ill-thought updates.
They should announce that no more updates will be coming until the base simulator runs as expected, with no add-ons, on PC and X-Box, with all sliders at max/default settings, live weather, live traffic, any base plane from the hangar and any length of flight. Then and only then can they start rolling forwards with carefully vetted updates, tested on real hardware not emulators.
Will it ever happen??
Not a chance, the usual MS way is to press on, patch whats busted with sticking plasters, call it a new release and stuff all those left suffering.
