I’ve never experienced much difference performance wise on or off since they fixed MP visibility, so I keep it on. It really sucks being by yourself out there I reckon. I feel way more comfortable seeing others around me for some reason.
I’d love to be a part of a huge fly in one day. That’d really test things.
I’ve been curious about these group flights, but I’m really not into how all the other aircraft models are generic low-poly models. I think the PC will actually show correct models, but the Xbox won’t.
That just sorta takes the wind right out of it for me.
If you and I are both flying the Goose, for instance, we won’t see each other that way. I thought I’d read elsewhere that the fighter jets appear as generic airliners! “Look at that Airbus doing a Split S and an inverted dive!”
Yes I rarely fly with others, but have MP to have more planes in the sky - especially as there’s no in-game traffic on the small fields.
I miss the busy skies and busy little airports of previous iterations of Flight Sim.
The last time I did have MP turned on, I was landing at KPRB on the correct runway for the current weather conditions only to have another player taking off right at me from the other end of the runway!
That pretty much did it for me, not so much that they may not have understood the concept of wind direction, but really that my local traffic radio calls were never going to be heard by anyone, so how would they know I was on approach unless they were looking carefully (which, actually, a pilot ought to be doing).
And wind socks don’t work properly anyway. So wind direction is not always clear.
True, but we’ve got ATIS and METAR from the weather menu, too.
I have flown with others online, you do see their DLC aircraft properly if you also have that aircraft purchased as DLC. Otherwise it’s a generic as you stated.
Ha ha, yes that is part of the problem for sure. We don’t hear radio communication from others (unless you join a chat) and the ATC does not relay information to you either. Something that hopefully they can add/improve when they overhaul the ATC.
We’ll still not working for me then or do you gotta like reinstall or somet ?
I know there are much, much greater problems right now. People can’t even start the sim. But although my Sim is stable at the moment, I can’t really enjoy it. Why? Because I still mostly fly airliners ( I think I’m gonna purchase the Islander this weekend), and the autopilot is such a mess. It simply doesn’t stick to the flightplan, cutting huge corners to get to the runway. This is just no fun. Are they not taking Xbox Simmers serious or what? Do they think we only fly the occasional jet fighters or something.
Sim is not working for many of us, I get a CTD at startup. There is a fix coming but probably not until next week.
Some have reinstalled with varied success.
I think we are a ways off on real Airliners on Xbox. Concorde is fun but I hate the others available.
I’m one of those people flying military jets
We’ll when I say reinstall I mean like clear the data or somet. As I’m on ultimate and you can’t download there. It’s annoying Cus I’m doing GCSE’s currently and I just wanna spend my spare time on this. But oh well until the hot fix I guess.
Official update on Xbox issues:
An hotfix is being worked on to fix Xbox crashing on startup. Apparently something was already fixed server-side this morning. Promising but no reason to get excited.
Ok then. How do you load up cloud gaming on Xbox tho. Do you download it ?
Yes it’s true and I’ve had a few buzz around me acting a fool for some time before going about their business. It’s strange and comical for sure. Somewhere around the start of the year went pear shaped for me. I used to see Hornets, Eagles, Tomcats etc. look like what they’re supposed to but now, only when it feels like and rarely now. Something’s not right here somewhere. It makes sense that the other person has to have what you have in order to see the correct aircraft for each other but this isn’t always true.
You start cloud gaming from Windows and Xbox App. Did not try cloud gaming from the XBox as I do not see the need there. Would this actually work?
You can’t launch the Xcloud version of a game on console if you have it installed.
But on a console without it, you can see the icon in the game’s page. You can run it from a browser on a computer from Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) on Xbox.com or from the Gamepass app on Android.
I’ve successfully played the XCloud version of Flight Sim on my Macbook, Chromebook, Phone, and Tablet.
Like another poster said, you run the cloud game on another device. I use my iPad and it actually works really well. You can use your Xbox controller , just pair it with your iPad or device with Bluetooth.
You need to download Xbox cloud app and setup your profile, then away you fly
I hope they fix the constant turbulence ! It’s annoying as (you know what). I don’t want to use MSFS because of it.
