I believe it’s got to do with respawning object. If u only fly in your 40nm ranges nothing have to respawn. But if you get out of the bubble it have to respawn some sim objects. I tried testing with custom air traffic and it CTD cause of data not matching sim data (sim-object). So when you hit END button . it can’t recognize some sim object to save. So the save file is failed and the sim get lost cause there is no files to read any data to start from.
I can load into the A300, immediately end flight and it will freeze on exit to menu every time. I have a 100% fail rate atm now with the A300 premium and compatible versions. Doesn’t seem to matter how long I’m in the plane for it to cause the freeze. Seconds, minutes and hours. The hours froze on approach of my first flight. Hence what sent me here and I found the freezing issues also on returning to the main menu.
Well, well, well… Integrated SimBrief was the last thing I expected to cause such an issue!
I just completed a flight, and guess what? No freeze at all!
Instead of using the INIT REQUEST function, I downloaded the flight plan and placed it manually in the WASM A330 flight plan folder. Afterwards, the FPL was loaded through the CO RTE.
As for the EFB, I configured it manually without importing any data from SimBrief.
And voila! no freeze!
Well, this could be useful for Asobo to fix the issue.
But honestly, rather than wasting all that time to make the FP manually, I prefer killing the FS task at the end.
I believe the problem is with WASM and Networking, if you use networking then something gets messed up and you can’t return to the main menu.
So the idea would be to avoid any functions that could use networking like INIT REQ*, requesting the flight plan from the EFB, etc.
Asobo / MS needs to fix this ASAP, it is a very annoying bug that they probably never spotted because they never used any networking function when testing.
In addition to the sim freezing when returning to the Main Menu, it has taken to just freezing. I also have started getting CTD’s every time I try to return to the Main Menu.

Yes, it happens to me every time I fly an A321 Neo flight on a free flight. Even if I go in with no flight plan and end the flight, it hangs the sim. I had to kill it using the task manager every time this happened. As a result, nothing I changed with the plane (like preserving the size of a popped gauge) preserves.
This needs to be fixed ASAP.
The issue is related to the INIT REQ* networking area. SimBrief is NOT the issue. You can download SimBrief via the EFB, you can download SimBrief to the tablet, use the payload page, sync it in the tablet, calculate and update the data in the Tablet, you [can send the data from the tablet to the flight management computer. You can even click on numerous items in the flight management computer to update their data from the tablet info, BUT YOU CAN NOT click on INIT REQ*. You can hit the greyed INIT button, just NOT the orange INIT REQ* button to use the network. You will be able to update your flight plan with Sid’s and stars, add or remove waypoints and the rest, and then you will be able to exit the flight into the MAIN PAGE or whatever to end properly and finally quit the sim saving any settings you’ve done. If you hit the orange INIT REQ* button all will work, but when you get out of the flight your computer will be frozen! Hope that helps narrow it down.
I had same problem with frezing screen every time after a free flight.
I found a solution (for me). I deselected HDR and now no frezing anymore.
I use
MSI B650 Tomahawk with AMD 9700X 3.8 GHz 32GB memory.
MSI Geforce 4060 TI 16GB.

I have this same issue with the latest build and with every aircraft I fly. So this is not just caused/fixed by using any of the Airbus aircraft. I typically use the C172 that comes with the sim, but have experienced the issue with numerous other aircraft as well.
OMG, I need to try this. Before Xmas this wasn’t happening, and after I came back home it started appearing. Now that I think, I started using Simbrief in between. Im gonna check in a while and try to do the setup the MCDU manually, (well its 5 mins more), so not big deal. I will do the flight and check. But if this works it will be amazing and hopefully give the developers some insights on the cause and a possible fix.
