My answer of this question is clearly YES! A picture is worth a thousand words!
Hello
Sorry to say that the aircraft is uncontrollable with the Honeycomb Alpha yoke. The yoke is fine, works perfectly with all the other aircraft.
The problem is mainly the aileron roll and besides that the aircraft is unable to even fly straight. It constantly moves around. Tried to adjust things in the options menu. Tried many different sensitivity settings with no luck.
Any help is appreciated.
Have you switched everything on - especially the Aileron Servos and the generators over to the right ?
If you spawn on the runway you still need to lock the canopy set the trim and switch on 3 or 4 toggles otherwise a lot of your systems will not be functional. Look for orange lights as hints something needs turning on.
One other thing to check is your angle of attack? The thing needs massive nose up trim on take-off but if you leave it that way it wants to fly with an insane AoA needing lots of power and can get very skittish.
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Still unable to fly, will have to find all those switches.
I have found some but not all. Many thanks.
Will have to find a tutorial on this as I am unable to fly straight even with the servos on. I did watch the startup video on this page but I am still unable to handle this aircraft. Very confusing to say the least!
The solution to the erratic flying was changing the Flight Model in the MSFS options from Legacy to Modern.
Now the aircraft is stable and without any problems. Hope this helps anybody else also.
I’m curious, why did you have it on Legacy? Not judging or anything, it just comes up fairly often on the forums and I always wonder what prompts people to switch from Modern to Legacy. Were you using some ported FSX aircraft?
It seems that sometimes with an update the game just switches people to legacy without them realising it has changed.
I don’t really know. It just was on Legacy when I looked. I can’t recall doing it myself.
Besides that I read a lot of forum post, and I have never seen any post about this issue. I have also used other payware aircraft without problems.
This Simskunkworks G91 was the first one that showed this erratic flying.
Seeing the amount of problems some users get when the sim is updated I regard myself as very lucky as I haven’t had many.
Some users in another forum I am member of have not even been able to start the game since the last update.
Everytime the game has an update I will check this from now on! ![]()
Thanks for your help.
This is the procedure I worked out for myself to reliably get in the air assuming minimal wind. It is probably not actually the technically correct procedure but it works for me.
- click on canopy lever to lock it
- set trim nose up to just in red zone
- set flaps - I usually raise them completely so it is one less thing to forget as speed goes up
- Main invertor to ON
- 2nd invertor to ON
- Power generator to ON
- Elevator Servo to ON
- Throttle fully forward
- Release Parking brake
- do not pull back, maintain neutral elevator to around 120 and then very slight back pressure
- remember to raise gear once you off the ground and hitting 150-160
- set trim back closer to neutral
Thank you for a very useful check list.
I have already flown it without issues but miss some documents with the plane.
Bought it through the marketplace yesterday and there was not anything included with it.
Buy from another source if you want the gunsight/bombs and perhaps the documents?
I bought it through Orbx and it comes with plenty of documents. I can upload them for you if you want them. Message me if so.
I believe that the sliders are the reason, especially because one is labelled “realism”.
Modern is the default.
Here’s more about the flight model issue.
Some even suspect that it was changed without their knowledge. I for one
just can’t recall doing it. Will check now after every update just to be sure.
Just curious if anyone else finds the view distance (LOD related?) of this aircraft in multiplayer limited?
When approaching to rejoin in formation one can clearly see the separation of nav and strobe lights with nothing rendered in between, and then the model will ‘pop in’ suddenly making judging closure difficult.
Hoping there’s a fix for this? (Maybe also for the quicker and presumably easier to lose sight of F-104…
)
I bought it today and found plenty of documents:
\MSFS2020\Official\Steam\simskunkworks-aircraft-g91\Docs
That should find them for you.
Found them, thanks for the help!
Great - looks like I replied to the wrong person! ![]()

Anyone else having the issue that the aircraft weights don’t appear correctly in the aircraft selection menus?
I’m just gathering all my add-on aircraft data for importing to Neofly and I noticed that whenever I switch to the G91 from any other aircraft, the weights don’t change. So I get the weights for the previous aircraft and not the G91.
Waited several minutes, tried going to many other different aircraft and menus etc, just to try and make sure the memory got rewritten, but every time I went back and brought up that G91 it still showed the wrong weights.
From the specs I see that the correct MTOW is 11,903lb and I’ve not seen that weight for the G91 in aircraft selection.
I have the fuel wieght in lb for Neofly - just wanted to get it in USG for importing to to Air Hauler.
I just love spending so much time gathering all this info for those add-on utes - honest!
No more updates for this aircraft ???
