Can’t wait for the beta to open up, if we can have 2 months of time to report issues we might have ourselves a very nice SU for once.
Yes, you must be able to name the first three US presidents to get the update.
Coulda fooled me!
And I will say for 13,683rd time, you clearly don’t understand how the betas work. (And I may be underestimating how many times I’ve said that on this forum).
I am expecting most of the third party planes to break, and have more things broken in the sim, and no real great improvements, but they will have a new building in cucumonga, where I don’t fly….
Traditionally, things have not gone well for applications written using obsolete APIs and then trying to duct tape newer features on after the fact.
Generic airports too dark at night. It would be nice to see a correction from the team in this aspect to make night flights more cool and enjoyable.
SU10? Expectations?
Hmm, if they announced that SU10 will bring nothing new but bug fixes that would be cool. I’d like to relax and fly without the constant feeling of an impending CTD, plus smooth graphics.
That actually reminds me of my early teenager years, trying to answer the „are you an adult“ questions of Leisure Suit Larry
Made even more difficult by my poor English knowledge, and mind you: there wasn‘t such a thing like the internet where you could quickly lookup the answer to the question.
But we kids tried hard to get into this „adventure“ (ahem…) game and quickly realised that at some point the questions kept repeating ![]()
Good times…
Of course bug fixes, but I’m sure they are working on that. But what bothers me most in the recent time is the trees autogen. Cities became forests. From small villages to metropolies. This spoils all the great work they have done with the WUs! When I fly over Notrhern Italy in real life, I can see Milan city 30+ miles away. In the sim it’s a green spot barely distingushable from the surrounding country. Pleeeease fix this!!!
Whatever happens, if SUX has serious problems that require hot-fixes shortly after, to my mind all that tells me is that it won’t matter how long a patch is delayed, they just don’t have a good grip on internal testing, and QA.
The alternative, that I have mentioned before, is that these patches are pushed out with them knowing there are issues, but they have to meet a launch deadline so they release it anyway, anticipating a backlash, while in the background they work on a hot-fix.
Part of me wishes they would drop the written in stone release dates, and change them to “Coming Soon”. ![]()
I’m hopeful this’ll be the one where Helicopters “officially” come.
Part of me wishes they release things when they are 100% ready to be released. Between those updates they can have many updates that focusing on bugs only.
Another part of me says it’s not possible because those not ready features can’t be implemented later. They need to be worked on in the same builds as we are using.
I wish we had much more bugfixes all the time instead of 1 update every month or so. Now it’s more time between updates.
Couldn’t they have this version we have now as a stable version that stays for maybe 1 year. And then switch to the new version as stable when they can see that more users uses the new version instead of the old.
Yes, i have expectations, to fix all these CTDs (example Tokyo Haneda when i taxi to gates after landing in in conclusion of Kuala Lumpur -Tokyo Haneda flight), stutters… on xbox series x version!
It cannot be that i spent 119.99 euros to buy Premium Deluxe Edition and cannot use it flawlessly and smoothly because of all these issues. And EVEN playing the sim OFFLINE!
Just that it doesn’t break anything.
We all , well most of us (PC and Xbox users alike) typically spend the time between these updates tweaking and working around the unpatched problems from the last update - and coming across extraordinarily good third party add-ons that we invest in.
Then the new update comes along - and you find new features and ‘improvements’ - ones you hadn’t thought you needed, normally - which are often more than cancelled out by hits in performance caused almost entirely by a lack of listening to the army of beta testers - and a total failure to test on commercial products available to us in the real world.
You read in these forums of PC owners who regularly spend a small fortune to update their gear so they can play, often with underwhelming results, us in the Xbox domain ( and believe it or not a fair few of us are very serious about our flying) who are driven to distraction by CTDs and stutters that we can do nothing about.
So I suspect that the majority of us ‘look forward’ to update day with apprehension rather than with high expectations, with a sense of foreboding rather than excitement.
Is this the way it’s supposed to be? A sim that can only be enjoyed by playing it in a basement on the developers’ super computers? “By God it looks so terrific though!”
I would like to see a situation that is transformed so that all of us can start looking forward to SUs and WUs with excitement and anticipation rather than dread.
That’s what I want.
Please enlighten me. A link will suffice since you’ve typed it so many times already.
Even worse performance, a lot of undocumented changes and probably more bugs than before.
true ofc. hotfixs is ok
thanks for a tip
that happens to me also but rarely
