Simrate Adjustment must be disabled in Career mode!

How does me increasing the Sim Rate effect you at all?

And its not the same as skipping which is way more immersion breaking. I’ve not skipped a flight even once
don’t even know if it works.

I enjoy looking at the scenery of an area I’ve never flown over before and things I’ve never seen.

But I don’t need to enjoy this in real time at 100kts.

That’s true that’s the rational explanation, we’ll have to see if they go that route.

I’m sorry, but after reading the comments, I get aggressive. The author is just jealous and wants the others to be geeks like him. No, my friend. We have our own life and I want to have fun THE WAY I WANT!!!
Why the hell are you meddling in my life?
It is difficult for me to write in English and it is difficult to explain my anger. My English-speaking friends, explain to the author in your own language

It’s about controlling the pace at which you progress. Not just credits.

I agree that with the current long flights, simrate is needed. Therefore, as I said above, it is necessary to reconsider the distances for most tasks. And also add all tasks to the free mode.

With all the pressing issues with the sim, this is like priority #351. Is there telemetry that suggests this would be useful? Is there a verifiable pattern that shows engagement and/or sales would be increased with this disabled?

I don’t mind if there’s a “no skip/no accelerate” bonus for those who put in the time (while you’re at it, add bonuses for no autopilot, live weather, etc - “hard mode,” as it were, but only as options), but why take it away altogether?

Something doesn’t add up. Let people sim the way they want to. Instead of adding more rails, fix the ones that are so broken.

You’re missing a couple of zeros on where this should rank in their priority list

I have absolutely no problem with you using the sim the way that doesn’t frustrate you. The thing that I find so puzzling, is why it seems to be so important to you to deny ME the ability to enjoy the sim in a way that I don’t get frustrated

Fairness between what? Your career and mine? I don’t know you or care one iota about you or your career. We are not in competition or compared to each other in any fashion whatsoever. Fairness applies in a competition, this is not one.

Might as well disable autopilot and the GPS.

I personally don’t have time nor want to watch my plane fly in a straight line through blue boxes for 3 hours. If you do, then you can do that..

if it’s not impacting anyone else why the heck should I not be able to change the sim rate in my single player game? No no no no no
 no*infinity.

Like most people here and in the discord have said, stop trying to change how other people play in SINGLE PLAYER.

In the discord the only thing you achieved was making everyone dislike your presence there.

Also, Microsoft changing this will have a big backlash from the community.

I agree 100.

This would only be a conversation IMO if there was some type of ranking or competitive nature of the career mode.

Even if that was the case, removing it would be a huge mistake IMO and instead you would just want to differentiate the play somehow.

Then why don’t we make the person do 40 hours of ground school before even being allowed to fly
they can just walk around the aircraft and only do 4 hours per day max of GS over 4 month sessions.

I think a lot of people would do that. I don’t know how many magenta line airliners flyers have zero knowledge of basic aviation principles.

seriously, Career mode is a crafted experience. It’s not do whatever you want mode. It’s something Asobo determine how they want you to experience this mode. Big difference. I just think activities in Free Mode would solve that issue.

Which you can still get that “crafted” experience, by just, not turning on sim rate.

I don’t see what the problem is with just leaving it alone. Career mode has a ton of issues, this isn’t one of them.

The whole argument about it being a “crafted” experience has already gone out the window anyways, because you know those blue rectangles that show up? You don’t even have to follow that path.

It wouldn’t because then I wouldn’t be playing career mode. I don’t know how you can’t possibly see that.

I want to play career mode!

I don’t want to fly a trans atlantic leg on autopilot for 8 hours!

Not sure what is so strange about that.

“Magenta line flyers”
what do you even mean by that
you mean like IRL. Do you think airline pilots or any pilot flying a long leg will do so without their AP system?

AP is used in RL because it is safer and reduces workload. If you are hand flying an airliner you are probably not following real life procedures. Thats a fact.

At this point I’m not sure if you are even serious or just trolling.

Now this topic is worth a vote!

I have flown older CAT aircraft without autopilot or flight director, 6 sectors per day, challenging weather, with an aircraft that is notoriously untrimmable. It’s a great experience but I wouldn’t like to do that again, it’s not particularly safe and like juggling 3 or 4 balls at the same time, especially when stuff breaks. Autopilot is an amazing tool. Anyone saying that hand flying is the real deal and using autopilot is cheating hasn’t understood it’s purpose. In particular cases you are not even allowed to fly manually, e.g. RVSM.

Not saying you shouldn’t
I grew up learning to fly 35 years ago (started gliding). Having an AP system back then was like having a CD player in your Car. Rare!

But when you have an aircraft with one, you usually are just waiting during your departure after starting your climb to enable it so that you can run through your next checklist. Most likely something the OP doesn’t even do.
