That panel is one that was given to me by someone with a promise to not share. I have the screen shot as an example only. I probably shouldn’t have included it since I can’t share it.
At some point I do want to add more Arrow instruments. It’s just not a plane I hold with a high priority atm.
Many of the instruments for the Arrow are in AM natively, others can be adapted as well. THat’s basically what that one is. It has a custom background and a few custom switches, but otherwise the majority of the panel can be replicated with what’s there.
Gave MSFS Popout Manager a try, don´t work for me.
1.) The analysis seems to have troubles to read big displays, so I have to resize my default virtual cockpit view every time I start the program to get it aligned.
2.) You have to make the analysis with displays on…I´d rather like to set up the sim dark and cold, at the real CJ4 you won´t put avionics on till engine start to save battery life.
3) At the same time it makes the adjustments automatically, I have set it up by myself, using Fancy Zones, so the automatic function is not much of help.
Even one step more to do at Popout Manager:
Fabcy Zones: 1.) Hot Key, 2.) Selecting layout and screen, 3.) Popout panels, 4.) Pulling them to the position using Shift key.
Popout Manager: 1.) Opening the program, 2.) Selecting Layout, 3.) Aligning the virtual cockpit, 4.) Powering up the displays, 5.) Analysis (popout the panels)
Sorry if it is the arrow panel I’m thinking of, I’m the one that put it together. I took someone else’s XP11 panel and put MSFS instruments in it. A lot of the special stuff like Autopilot and other buttons do not work and I have not had the time to work on it. You can use stock AM instruments to put together a good Arrow panel without the background image. I will not distribute work that is not mine, I think the people that make them sound do it.
Indeed it is. You asked me not to share it, so I didn’t as promised.
But yes, it’s mostly just stock AM instruments. The AP stuff though, I haven’t really played with. I really dislike the Piper AP system altogether. I ended up buying the Carenado Piper Arrow III. I like that one (at least in terms of it’s controls) a lot better.
Have you tried out the Seneca yet? There is a whole collection of instruments for it in AM but less than half of them work with FS2020. But it should not be too hard to get them working and make a nice complete Seneca panel.
The instrument say they are for FS2020 and have code in them but they are not working correctly.
I bought the Seneca a while back. Tried making a panel, and found exactly the same issue. The instruments are listed as MSFS ready. Most don’t work. And I can’t be ■■■■■ to fix SI’s work. I may try to fix them at some point, but would prefer that SI just make them compatible if they plan on listing them as MSFS compatible. It’s their instruments. In my mind, it’s up to me to make them work if they claim they’re MSFS compatible.
Those Seneca instruments are community instruments and not SI instruments per se. Many instruments had fs2020 generic code added a while back and I suspect they just have the FSX equivalents in there so the issues are likely because the addon uses something else. You would need every add-on to be able to check all the instruments properly. Posting on the SI forum with a list of the issues is the best chance of getting an outcome and it also serves to share the issues.
Cool. Yeah, I didn’t really check that they might have been community instruments. My bad on that.
But there are SI ones that don’t work as well. One that comes to mind is the alternator switch on the C172 G1000 switch panel. There are a few others in the payware panels that don’t work either. I can’t think of them offhand.
I agree even if they are community they should only list the simulators they work with or have been tested on.
I would rather them not have FS2020 listed then to have it listed and not work. I think that would put a lot of people off and going around saying they tried it and it does not work half the time
The payware ones can obviously only be fixed by SI so if they are broke they need to be reported to get an update. Even community instrument issues should be posted so it either prompts a fix or as has been the case in the past, removed.
I will make sure I start to do that on the SI forum. Hopefully it will help.
Now that I think of it we are posting stuff that should not be in this tread. This should just be about the instruments these guys are doing. Feel free to delete any of my posts that do not help this tread.
Good to hear. It was confusing, as there shouldn’t have been any changes to the simconnect events and simvars. At least none noted in the changelog for the CJ4 on the WT site.
If anything, the audio panel functionality should be better now since apparently that’s one of the things they fixed, and I had pre-emptively coded our audio panel to work if they ever fixed the plane. I just haven’t been able to test this myself since SU7.
Hey folks, I just stumbled upon this thread and was trying to get the G1000 NXi working. When I import in to AM I get “failed to import your SIFF file”. I was able to import others like the FMC for the CJ4. Is this something I’m doing wrong? Im on the latest AM 4.04.
