Loving the concept of the aircraft, I tried some modifications to the “wing incidence” and flap drag to improve the aircraft behaviour.
I am only based on youtube vidéo where you can see instrument etc… Even if it is slightly better (according to me), it needs some work. I would like to know if the devs or someone would like to test the flight model.cfg I made?
I think it is still overpowered, and the drag/lift ratio of the aircraft needs some refining.
And finally it needs a better sound pack (my skills in this particular domain is inexistent).
Are there cargo doors on this aircraft that are operable by GSX?
Is there a way to close the passenger door without going to the back of the cabin?
By nice to have click spots for cabin and any cargo doors.
Purchased it last night, and enjoyed two perfect flights with it so far! I only use an Xbox controller and a mouse, and I will say you need at least a mouse to control the condition levers. Although an Xbox controller will move them within normal flight range, it will NOT move them through the requires detents (fuel shut off, low, high). Very easy to manage with a mouse, though.
Enjoy! As one of my favorite aircraft, I’ve been waiting on this one for a long time. Definitely not disappointed - It’s exactly as I hoped it would be! Room for improvement in a few areas, but it’s lots of fun.
Do you have a mouse connected to the Xbox ??
I am guessing the condition levers can be moved with the mouse and in flight you don’t need them.
Sure it would be nice if control was working properly…but it is not a deal breaker. At least not for PC.
Yes I have try a mouse connected and it’s work. I’ve send a email to the developer to see if there’s an update. This is the only plane for which it doesn’t work ( Commanche, c160, pmdg, etc…)
Thanks Mhron. Reading your comment yesterday evening I finalllllllllly pulled the trigger on this product and I’m liking it a lot. Got me thinking: if its one of your favs it now must be pretty good.
I loved it during development but as it came out I had sworn to wait for a few proper updates before getting it. Having finally flown it today it really is a joy.
One thing though, it does seem to do pitch-adjustments through the autopilot panel. Is it a quirk or just a bug/absent feature for now? (it does when in Vspeed, but not without a vertical mode selected which would on most aircraft return to pitch control mode)
Do you mean the pitch hold mode? Not sure if it’s in the real aircraft (there used to be some pilots flying the Dash 7 irl in the past coming to this thread) but yes, in the sim it’s just either V/S or IAS mode. It only pitches as you trim it with none of those two modes selected but not holding the pitch when other parameters change. I just use IAS mode for climbing and V/S mode for descending.
There are still some things that could be improved and worked on (sounds, reversed mouse control logic for the altitude selector that was introduced with the last update, make some dummy switches functional etc.) but overall this aircraft is so fun to fly and the feel of the airplane just feel right to me - hand flying is really enjoyable, it’s easy to trim and decelerate on approaches and the performance is just what I would expect from this airplane.
Very much so. And overall it has a really good rugged feel to it, in the atmospheric sense of the cockpit. A proper workhorse that isn’t afraid to get dirty. I like that with turboprops like these.
I bought this plane in the marketplace the moment it was available and think it is one of the most enjoyable out there but lately (since version 1.6.5) it is uncontrollable the moment it touches down on landing. Darts off right and into circles until I pull condition levers to feather and get it stopped. Have uninstalled snd reinstalled 3 times. Have tried all manner of approach speeds, etc and no change. Gonna have to park it unless someone has an answer.
I found that i had flight model mod installed from a while back. I removed that that and the landings are ok now. Also touching down at 80 and flaps 25 helps.
Try checking the engine assignments on your throttle.
Could be that you don’t have all 4 engines assigned, so a couple on one side are remaining at full power
(my skills in this particular domain is inexistent).
