Simworks Studios Vans RV10

I have a Wishilist Item open for the G3X to be updated. Feel free to participate there!

I avoid G3X aircraft like a plague nowadays, which is generally fine cause I don’t fly very light birds that tend to use it. Worst glaring one is that awful default KA350 with the Frankenstein avionics.

The RV10 is available for purchase now on the SWS website.

Not here it isn’t. Only these -

There is a picture of it on the homepage but clicking on it brings up a 404 error message.

I was able to grab it before it disappeared. It was there.

Ah well, I should be working anyway :slightly_smiling_face:

It was there long enough for me to buy it. Must be having server issues. (Capt. Obvious, here).

Yes, it’s back -

Will buy after dinner.

I could not get the NAV mode to work although the rest of the A/P functions were fine. I looked at the SWS manual and all it says is the G3X’s are built-in to the sim and has no further instructions. It was just one quick test flight at lunch, I guess I’ll find a manual…

Did you have the WT530/430 (1.1.4) installed as well as the core 1.1.2?

As the dev mentioned earlier in the thread:

I did have it installed but I removed it and restarted the sim before flying the RV-10. thanks for the info, though. I removed the one with the GPS image. The other WT GNS430/530 package (gray FS logo) does not have an install/uninstall option.

Edit: I found a known issues section on SWS’s website that says to only remove the package with the GPS image. I’ll test some more later this evening.

No, don’t touch that one as that will break the default planes that use it. The issue lies with the marketplace version which replaces Asobo’s entirely.

If you only keep the Official one then WT’s will co-exist with Asobos and each GPS of the two (AS & WT) will work on the planes that use it.

I see the issue. I looked all over the G3X’s for the CDI button but it’s on the GNS 430 - it was in VLOC mode. Problem solved. It was me, of course. lol.

Addendum: I’m not very familiar with the G3X. I just found I can click on the compass rose on the pilot’s display and menu slides in that allows me to select the CDI source, as well.

Wait, Wait, which one is ā€œThat Oneā€???
I know, but, you may want to be clear

(Not to mention you can’t remove the gray one anyway)

That was my fault. I edited my message after SirRipperOrig replied. To clarify, remove the Working Title GNS430/530 package that has a photo of the GPS on the left. (28.96 kb package size).

Oh, I get it. I was just pointing out that in his response he wasn’t clear about which one not to remove. For those people who aren’t familiar with the current situation, people might be confused. A simple ā€œDon’t delete the gray icon oneā€, would fix the statment, which I suppose I could have written, but I didn’t want to speak for him.

Where is the TDS/PMS integration? The RV14/14A has it?

Having said that I am loving the Sky4Sim Pad - Tablet integration

HDR so washed out Screenshot :frowning:

Surprised not to see more traffic on this. I picked it up earlier and took it on a quick flight at lunchtime.

I have to admit, I had skipped the Sky4Sim pad when the Wilga integrated it because I’m not a fan of having to launch server software along with the sim. Already doing that for AI… But it didn’t really look optional on the install here (I wasn’t able to uncheck the integration) so I installed it. And now that I’ve tried it, I’m going to upgrade to the paid version — it’s really slick, and it’s reasonably priced unlike the GTN750 add-ons.

Love the included paints on this, and it’s definitely a very different plane from the RV-14 and RV-8. Flight model feels like it’s right on according to the articles I’ve read.

Anxious to dive in and learn all the systems! I hand-fly for the most part, so I’m not too anxious about the level of GPS/autopilot support.
