sounds good to me
Hate to say it, but that looks like the same kind of cockpit view as the DA-62.
Those big pillars ruin it for me. That’s why I bought the DA-42.
As far as I know they are the same. In many respects the DA50RG is a one-mot DA62.
it is now released
Not with that awful visibility, no thanks.
In Orbx is already available, let’s see how long it takes Microsoft to put it on the Market.
Cockpit visibility is easily corrected and adapted. Even in planes that normally have bad visibility. I’ve been doing mods exactly because of that for years
I’m interested in the DA50RG, but will wait for some reviews first. The audio package by Boris is a definite plus though. And the price is extremely attractive.
You can push the head position farther forward and increase the FOV.
That’s my cockpit view for the default DA62, and there’d be still room for putting the view farther forward:
You will of course never get rid of the column, unless you create some kind unrealistic of ultra-wide angle view, but I don’t see it as a dealbreaker. Matter of taste I guess.
But if you WANT a DA50RG you’ll have to live with the design. Otherwise I don’t see much of a point discussing it. In today’s world stuff like that always comes across as if it’s the dev’s fault that the visibility of the plane is bad …
Personal Comments and Observations
Realistically, the A pillars are prominent in your POV. Even taking into account the wide-angle distortion, the view is accurately placed by Skyward.
The reason why it feels so cramped is the fuselage roof is curving up and around you. It is pretty much the same view as the DA62.
That’s one point. The other is the comparatively heavy insulation making the column, doors and roof thicker. Compare the interior of the DA50 to a Comanche or a C172. In those old birds you can see the metal of the doors and feel the outer roof sheeting when you press your finger to the ceiling. The DA50’s interior is made more like that of a modern car. And all that of course takes away space inside.
Exactly. Probably why the cockpit in the Hjet with its small windows and fairly large pillars doesn’t bother me nearly as much.
How is the flight model ?
I heard the guy from COWS made it
and we know who
Plane is great, basicaly same level as Cows Da42. The visibility is not a problem at least if you use head tracking.
Only thing i found are broken reflections on sun visors.
Also i would like to have liveries with custom registration and keypad for G1000.
Has anyone else noticed with the throttle that even when flying the throttle axis moves it all the way to ground idle? I don’t think this is normal behavior.
The actual Ground Idle is on the reverse Axis. So if you only used forward throttle sofar, you might not even been in groudn idle yet and hence you think you can go to ground Idle in flight.
Here would be my Flight with the release version (german language) and at ~ 3:00 you can see the actual Ground Idle position of the lever
Cheers
Personal Comments and Observations
I dunno about this guy, he seems to have a Win on Diamonds no matter what he does.
Thanks for the reply! I’m using the Honeycomb Bravo and my throttle is setup so it’s at idle when it reaches that bottom detent. However, when I’m flying and I put the throttle into idle, it travels all the way back to ground idle. It’s almost like it should remain at flight idle until I click a button or tell it to continue to ground idle. It shouldn’t go into ground idle at 10,000’.
I have Bravo and i dont have this problem.
