Thanks - that brought it down to 13%. But it still begs the question - why is sitting in the queue putting a load on my GPU?
I suspect this queue screen is merely an overlay over the normal full-color high-res animated sim loading screen.

Got in after a very long wait… and it worked really well! Got all the default planes, flying worked well, need to get used to some GUI things. Then I wanted to add my addons, restarted and… in the login queue again. I really hope I don’t have to wait in the logon queue everytime I load MSFS.

Just got home from an 8 hour shift… Still at 97%… AWesome game!
It’s likely stuck there, give it a force close and restart
Yeah it’s still running the infinite framerate video in the background lol, alt-enter, shrink the window size, and minimize while you wait (it helps a little on gpu load, and allows you to work on other stuff)
Also still in the queue…EU.

I agree. Jorg Neuman is posting that the problem is all fixed and people are getting in. They would have access to the stats of the people stick in an endless queue. So they would know the problem is not fixed.
Mainly that I can’t actually name another title like this…
People have this weird idea that as long as your part of a massive company, you have insane amounts of resources… which if you’ve worked at a large organization is very much not how the world works unfortunately. Some departments/groups get tons of money, others have to beg for the extras.
I presume the sim had a relatively decent development budget; it had to with so many developers on board. Is this a poor showing for Azure? Potentially, although if going by Seb’s comments, this sounds like it was a software issue with the software written by asobo to handle the content distribution, not the servers themselves.
I’d love for them to do a dev breakdown of this later, but given how much vitriol is going on right now (not you specifically) and the nature of the issue, I doubt we’ll see it

Still in the login queue since 6 hours here in Germany and the GPU use 180 Watts till I limited the FPS to 60 with the display driver. It’s really a bad situation.
I just started msfs2024 and am already at 6% vfs actvating package with no queue. looking much better than yesterday. as I write this it jumped to 12%. maybe try a restart
I got through to customization screens this morning rather quickly, but now it hangs on ‘Customize Identity’ for 15 min… 
Same here, hanging on that screen for about 30min now
I’m now in after hanging and a few CTD but it won’t let me fly just hangs when I select fly. Progress of sorts but nothing will load when in. I’m also confused about how my library works / purchases seem to be there but can’t tell if I need to select anything it’s really odd interface
