There are no less than two different dev’s currently working on Stearmans. For those with FB, here are a couple of links to their pages:
Just bought the Waco and love it. But I guess a Stearman is a must in my hangar even though the two are very similar in looks and performance. The the screenshot’s I just don’t know which one I like better.
I can imagine DCS contacting lawyers to stop MSFS using military aircraft lol
The biggest issue is that, even though most military aircraft were government funded, the copyright remains with the manufacturer and hence if your product is too successful you are likely to get a “send us all your money” call from the original manufacturer. The toy industry and the model aircraft industry have similar issues.
I bet I know who has more lawyers. Spoiler alert, it’s the company that has their current operating system on 75% of the world’s computers. ![]()
Haha agree
Looks great! Shame 2 devs are working on the same airplane, oh well it happens..
Not sure i would trust DC designs yet after the big let down with the over hyped F-15. Not a fan of buying a product to be part of an ‘‘early acess’’ program and have to download the airplane again and again as the dev does the work that sould have been done before initial release.
it’s too soon to “take a side” but Golden Age Simulations are long time veterans of aircraft design for FS.
we can only wait and see which product comes out best and this opinion always depends also on every personal taste and priorities.
having options is always a good thing.
I just hope no one rushes alpha or beta just for fear of losing sales, that’s the only risk I see.
can’t wait for a Stearman, it was one of my favourite aircraft back in FS9.
Yeah, lets just wait and see i suppose, but i know who id put my money on.
Now all i need is A2As J-3 Cub and a farmers airstrip!
True. But on the other hand, if they push each others, they can`t come out with anything but good product and reasonable price, we as customers are the ones to win.
Strips are already in the sim - at least in the UK - can’t imagine they only bothered with them here. It was one of my greatest wishes and hopes for FS2020 and they did it! So I’m very happy as stripping is my favourite activity ![]()
Definitely getting one of these if they’re well made, regardless of the price. If one is rushed, I hope the other doesn’t get suckered into a race, but takes their time and really out does the other in quality. The sim has been begging for some classic radials, and I’m still holding out hope for a realistic T-6 or T-28. Something with a little performance. But the Stearman will definitely be great for short hops around the Midwest. Now if somebody would also get on Pioneer Airport at Oshkosh so we can have our virtual fly-in and airshow this summer.
Yes im aware that there are airstrips avalible all over the MSFS world..
Yeah, T-6 would be great. Hope it wount be to long before we start to see accusim aircraft or similar once the SDK gets a little better
The Wozza T-6 converts pretty well. I bet @JohnnyDioxin has got it working… And OMG has it got repaints…
Nobody is talking about the Stearman from DC designs being ready in June?
15 USD from Just Flight.
I guess it deserves its own thread as Golden Age Simulations will not develop for MSFS at this time.
Probably because the initial response to the DC Designs F15 was underwhelming to say the least. Though by all accounts they have now released something like 4 patches to it and fixed most of the initial complaints about it.
The other Stearman developer (Golden Wings) had an equally shakey first release with their B2 Sportswing ( a plane I actually really like in MSFS by the way) and actually withdrew it from sale.
- Fixed that for you

Yes, they stated on their Facebook that they will not develop for MSFS until further notice.. they will stick to P3D and FSX
Yeah, Golden Age is back to FSX and P3D only. So, no aircraft from them. DC Designs though will be fun!
