Stutter and Stop at 10FPS introduced with World Update 3 still there with 1.14.6.0

feel free to do it on your own.

I done.. never seen your issue

I noticed bad’er fps and as @willisxdc mentioned it is known issue, but is playable for me.. except the well know areas.

nice for you. also logged the problem with hwinfo and it corresponded there exactly to the representation in the taskmanager screenshots in my entry post.

you see.. far away from GPU does nothing

If you play not in 4K , your 3080 will possible never be in full load.

But don’t forgot.. nobody said that no perf-issues exist. They are aware of problems with that and I assume they work on it.

I did a little monitoring of the Flightsimulator.exe in Performance Monitor today. - in the overview tab you can see CPU, disk, memory somewhat simultaneously.

I didn’t encounter any major stutters, didn’t go looking for them, just wanted to monitor regular gameplay.

Those stutters that I did see exhibited the classic symptom described many times already. GPU flatlines, CPU activity increases.

…and interestingly while this is happening you can see an increase in disk activity.

It seems to be the main thread loading ground assets. In my case I was in rural Portugal, small strips not far from Lisbon and the assets being loaded were from air strips which feature ground staff, vehicles and/or parked aircraft.

This might explain repeatable stutters observed at very specific places by many users on this forum.
Once the CPU suddenly gets busy loading assets from drive into memory it’s too busy to feed frames to the GPU.

Here you go. Perhaps now you can stop being so hostile to other players reporting the issue, and blindly defending Asobo?

No CPU core pegged, RAM to spare, minimal drive usage in this instance, GPU barely being utilized. The longer I fly around, the worse it gets - much like others have reported. Only remaining explanation - code or asset issue.

you will not understand it , or ?

The point is: this issue is well known and the team is aware.

And AGAIN I can not see in your screenshot the REAL GPU LOAD. The GPU load goes down, but it is not that GPU does nothing.

EDIT: ah.. your HWINFO print it seemingly… so you are in >20 GPU load.. not zero

EDIT: ah… your HWINFO print it seemingly… so you are in >20 GPU load… not zero

If it wasn’t obvious this was a quick demonstration of the issue. The bottom line is still the same - there’s an issue with the core game code impacting utilization on more than ample hardware. Think I’m done discussing this here.

what is well known…

why don’t ya open a thread on your own and call it ā€˜all the problems i do not have’ …

cheers
have a good one

because I like discussions about already fixed problems

( fixed in forum sense )

How is that ā€œalready fixedā€?

I have a similar problem. On always the same sections of the flight, I get some massive stuttering. This always happens mid-flight over always the same areas. Interestingly, these are not graphically complex areas - no cities, mountains or airports.

However, during the stuttering the fps stays at a fairly constant 50 fps. So no fps drops here - only stuttering.

No mods in community folder. Do not use rolling cache. My internet bandwidth is 50 Mbit/s and is fully available to FlightSimulator.

Opened a Zendesk ticket

would be interesting if you have time to do an approach with the a320 to the 08L EDDM. just use as starting point the one in the air that msfs automatically suggests when you choose 08l as arrival with the a320 eddm. with me it always starts at the point in about 3000 ft altitude just before the runway where there are 2 small lakes/ponds

cheers

my graphics are in low

My system is a

10700k 5.0ghz all colors
gtx1660super

A weird thing I noticed, probably mentioned before but I don’t have a week to read all the posts… my very low 6-10 FPS only happens when I’m flying in an area that I’ve cached or downloaded world data. 4K and high settings is 6-10 in Houston. 4K and high settings with the same plane in Los Angeles is roughly 30 FPS. I’m going to remove all downloaded world data and see what happens tonight.

I saw this Video from Overkill which helped me with the Stuttering:

(121) Microsoft Flight Simulator | Stuttering From Last Update | Fixed!!! - YouTube

perhaps helping with stuttering but not with the FPS … gonna try.

1 Good thing is that currently we are all trying to optimize the sim from our side … when Asobo is finally going to release the patch, we will really gonna benefit from our previous optimizations

Edit: it doesn’t correct the problem of FPS, still 2 FPS at 76T

tried it. no difference the stuttering is just like before. thanks anyway.

Nothing has changed here, exactly same problem at 76T and in the other slide show places.
