SU3 beta 1.5.1 keeps activating / deactivating marketplace content

This is a good one…

I’m on Steam. In that MSFS24 folder I have neither an XBOXID folder nor a SteamID folder.

I did have 3 folders containing different variations of my username though, and there was a content.xml file in one of them and another in the root MSFS2024 folder. It all seemed to be a bit of a confused mess

I deleted 2 of the 3 username folders (leaving the one that matched my in-game username) then copied the content.xml file from the root into the username folder and that seems to have fixed the issue of things not sticking.

Interestingly I also had two rolling caches. I keep it on a separate disk yet I had one where it should be and one in the root folder.

So checking I also do NOT have an XBOXID folder or a STEAMID folder. The only content.xml is in the 2024 folder bearing my MS ID:

C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024\JPVann#9916

I have deleted, restarted game and still only 1 content.xml. No fix for me so far.

I spoke too soon. What was disabled in SU2 remains disabled, any other changes I make are not sticking.

I resolved the missing content by downloading it…

From what I could guess from my case, the game seems to update the content.xml file within the XboxID subfolder when Enabling/Disabling content within the sim, but when initially starting the sim, it seems to be checking the SteamID subfolder for a content.xml to determine the enabled/disabled status of the library content at load time.

Maybe try not deleting the SteamID subfolder and just copy the one from the XboxID subfolder (after of course, Enabling / Disabling the content you want to stick at sim startup) into that SteamID subfolder.

Worth a try.

It does work. This should be reported to Asobo. Hopefully they read it

No offense to this great simulation but this is a new, sloppy and basic error - 1 step forward, 2 steps back…

It doesn’t help in my case. Im on standalone, not steam, & the issue persists even in the period between when one beta end and the next begins.

That being said, I want to disable content, and have it remain disabled: the a10, l39, f18, all Airbus aircraft…the list goes on. I know what I’m never going to fly in msfs, and the aircraft selection menu is crowded enough without having it populated with unwanted aircraft - but in this case, it doesn’t even stay disabled during a single session - content goes thru the motions of being disabled in the content menu, but when I go to aircraft selection menu for free flight, and it’s all right back where it was

Hey can anyone help with why i cant diable or delete any packages?

Ive tried to disable the realistic lights and delete the file out of the fs2024 packages folder but it doesnt work.
The file renables itself after restarting the sim.
Also some downloads will not let you install after downloaded the content e.g gatwick airport from origami?

Known issue in SU3. Don’t know about SU2.

i want to share the same for store users how i got everything enabled/disabled as i want to have it

Have done this numerous times in numerous configurations. So far nothing stops the game from starting with 60% of my normal aircraft disabled.

I have the same problem. I am able only to download the addons or i can enable it only for the actual session. when I stop the simulation and return to Windows desktop and then restart flight simulator 2024 my library does not save the addon enabled in the previous session. I have to enable again all the addons. It is very annoying operation since I have many addons to enable. Before SU3 this did not happen.

Someone have any solution?
Thanks in advance

For Store users:

Note: Personally tested the steam version on 1.5.4.0 only

Build 1.5.7 still exhibits the behavior, where if you disable something in mylibrary that shows as streamed, it won’t stay disabled if you restart the sim.

Oh wow that is crazy that it’s still not fixed.
Thanks for sharing, saved my trying it out. So I staying out of SU3 beta 1.5.7

Yep it’s crazy this bug still exists, since it’s a pretty easy workaround to fix. Just have to copy one content.xml file from one folder, to another.

‘crazy’ is an odd way to spell disappointing

Problem still persists - disappointing to say at least…

If I deactivate World Updates, City Updates and Asobo aircraft (787 for example) they are automatically reactivated after restart.

Please fix it, because I have no interest in using the World Updates and City Updates.
