Taxiway signs are illegible because of the odd lighting/contrast that they exhibit. The signs seem to glow in a way that prevents legibility. The yellow background blurs out the black letters, especially at night. Especially during the day, the signs shouldn’t be lit in a way that could even remotely cause this to happen. Taxiway signs are generally unlit during the day, and the yellow isn’t intense enough to cause the sign to be illegible. Please find a way to fix the legibility of the signs by modifying the intensity of the lighting. Signs should be lit up JUST enough so that they can be read at night, not so bright that they shine like a light.
Please fix this so that taxiway signs can be legible at night (and in general)!
After the last update to the taxiway signs (at least in VR) they are better but way to bright during the night. Unless I’m looking at it from 10 meters it is just a big yellow square. Not at all practical
make note also if you are using any post-effect adjustments like ReShade or the NVidia/AMD apps. I’m not but the taxi signs are still too bright to read
Thank you for your post. I have the same issue. When you are on a big airport it is difficult to taxi without using a map. My settings are set to ultra. I have a RTX3060Ti without special effect (reshape) introduce by Nvidia.
Incredible! Thank you so much for your work! @Jummivana or anyone else who could pass this up - this possibly could be a simple fix in the native sim if you all would be willing to implement it.
I unfortunately have the same ptoblem:
PC, RTX2060, 27 inch monitor full HD.
By night the taxiway sign light glows so much over the letters, that they are not readable before I am standing next to the side of the taxiway with my plane which is much too late.
I will give the too-bright fix a try but it is sad, that this fix yet can’t be installed in the community folder which is a Microsoft/Asobo-problem and not the developer’s fault.
So I strongly hope, that Asobo will fix this correctly within a sim update.
