Haha, it’s a miracle ![]()
But I just took off from Dublin 3rd party in the 787, and it was absolutely smooth as silk. I think it depends on server health at that moment and also the scenery in particular.

thank you for reminding us what it was…
that was such a good promise at first purchase…
i fly airliners ifr so at high altitude it’s not so important but for all vfr pilot… i just can’t imagine their disappointement…
nethertheless, sky view is not often clear as your pictures in real life
sort of blurry look and haz is very common …
the fact now for me is that i prefer to fly with the sim at sunset …
general rendering look really better than the rest of the day
Nope. But I turned AI traffic off (on Xbox, with all those ugly generic planes, is a mess…) and I just have static aircraft. And just a few payware airports.
Wait, by turning off AI traffic you get rid of the ugly generic livery aircraft, but LVFR addon still works?
Man, I must be stupid. I really can’t stand those ugly generic ones.
Sure, it works. It’s not linked to the AI traffic. It just puts static aircraft at the airports. I just miss ATC AI communications, but I was tired of all those “generic” things…
Thx man, I’m going to give it a try next time👍
All, this topic is about LOD. Let’s kindly discuss AI traffic in another thread. Thank you.
I tested KSEA and, as I already noticed, I think that is NOT strictly a LOD issue. With reduced LOD settings you should see better details if you get closer, right? Active pause, then in external view take a look around. You’ll notice that 3d assets (buildings, trees, etc.) “grow” as soon as you point the camera in their direction, in front or behind the aircraft. As I already wrote yesterday, it seems the game now brutally unloads things as soon as you point the camera elsewhere.
I could be wrong, but in my interpretation the Sim has always done it that way?
But maybe you are right, and now it’s a bit more “brutal” to use your word.
Sure. To a certain degree it HAS to do that, otherwise the console wouldn’t be able to handle that amount of data. But I feel it got worse lately.
I’m sorry if I’m coming across as obtuse, but I’m struggling to see what I’m supposed to be seeing in your photos. I fully recognize it is probably due to the way that screenshots convey detail poorly when they are “de-tuned” for a forum post.
In your latest post, can you just walk me through what you’re illustrating here for us?
Are the morning photos (shot from the undercarriage) illustrating poorer quality? I think I see the buildings as crisper in the second set of photos.
I’m asking primarily because I feel like I’m a bit lost myself when I observe my own graphic fidelity whilst flying. I swear sometimes it looks very good and other times, I don’t think it looks very good, at all. I can’t tell if I’m losing my mind or I’ve lost a sense of what the sim used to look like. Sometimes I feel like the textures are quite stable and other times I can see them dynamically changing before my eyes in a very obvious way.
If this is what being gaslighted feels like, I think I understand. I feel like I’m going a bit batty here. It’s why I’ve been silent on this thread for awhile. I can’t really tell which way is up with the graphic fidelity anymore. If there, truly, is a dynamic system in play on Xbox, I have to think it has somehow become more sensitive to triggering detail reduction than it used to be. I am loathe to speculate (anyone who reads my posts knows this of me), but something does feel differently.
On the Xbox real time traffic is alway generic aircraft. Nameplates are also alway 3 letters followed by several digits. For example SNF5452 or PSA5512.
Is this normal or not?
I’m fairly certain that is a question for a different thread.
I saw others here asking about finding a way to get rid of generic aircraft on the Xbox, that is why I asked too.
It’s probably best to adhere to this:

You could open up a new topic-or use this thread: Xbox Multiplayer can only see Generic Models
Let’s adhere to N316TS’s reminder ![]()
Thanks for linking the correct thread here. Have a wonderful evening.
Yep, the second set is way better , you have to zoom in the pictures, again sorry if this does not come across very clearly, the textures in the first really look like 720p resolution or less! In the evening here ( i am located in europe) suddenly the “servers” / xbox network or whatever random thing that is causing this changed and suddenly textures started to look again like they should.
So wildly inconsistent that even when it looks good you’re still a bit in doubt. I just decided to check out Seattle, then Vegas and on to NY. All looking solid with the PG, as it should and used to. Then on to Paris and oh my. Difficult to describe how bad it looked..
Plus the morphing, popin and changing textures are now way more aggressive then I’ve seen before in any of this post SU11 weirdness. Beta or not
