This is how MFS 2024 runs on Series X

In reading Jorgs latest statement “ The aviation experience that our trusted partner Asobo Studio created alongside other first party development teams is the best we have ever made”.

Feeling like this is the best we get for now. Scenery is still horrible. Performance degrades often.

Not hopeful we will see what has been promised anytime soon.

1 week later and we still can’t use airliner ? I don’t know, it’s been some days since i tried it. But it’s a big part of the game and not being able to use them is kind of weird.

Sim is loading really fast, but I can’t fly cause I’m looking forever on the loading screen when set up a flight. Guess no flying today again.

Steering not working on runway with airliner but fine with small planes.

Just sad to remember how good MFS 2020 was on Series X.

There are a few issues with the Series X and I have shared them with many such as the mouse camera going nuts, the inverted mouse and controls (both of those I have resolved), and now I am seeing CTD’s when trying to do the training sessions in Career mode. But when I do get to fly and complete missions, challenges, and free flight it is amazing and so much more potential once all the bugs are resolved (which as many are wishing and hoping happens very soon)

Im on Xbox series x and i cant get today to Sim . It stucks always to 97% . This is by far not acceptable. Better take it out from store. I bought the game and im wasting my time every night to get this game started.

The LOD on the Xbox Series X is just awful! The scenery lacks detail, and the visual quality is a huge letdown. I honestly thought this new technology would bring sharper, more polished visuals to the simulator, but it’s the complete opposite—it’s WORSE. It feels like I’m flying on an Xbox Series S with how bad things look.

It’s really hard to stay confident in the team with results like this. After giving it a shot, I uninstalled the simulator and went back to 2020. Even as an older version, it still delivers a much more reliable and enjoyable visual experience. I really hope the team takes the community’s feedback seriously and fixes these issues, because right now, 2024 just isn’t worth the time.

Hi, you have perfectly explained everything that happens using the V2. The mouse only works for zooming and clicking but not for viewing. The airport graphics are poor and everything crashes very often. ATC volumes too low compared to ambient sounds and cannot be adjusted, furthermore the message field is too large and cannot be reduced. A huge disappointment.

The initial experience is terrible, I’ll try to list what mainly doesn’t work:

  1. the mouse goes crazy in free view, in 2020 it works perfectly
  2. activating free flight very often crashes everything enough to close and restart msfs 2024
  3. during free flight the ATC often freezes and the reading pane on the right cannot be adjusted in size, furthermore the last message remains hidden.
  4. ATC voice too low during the flight compared to the sounds in the cabin and cannot be adjusted even by lowering all the other audio sliders
  5. general slowness in loading textures and objects on the ground with poor graphics in airports.
For now it is much worse than 2020 which worked very well.
Purchased Premium Deluxe for 140 Euros I hope that everything will be fixed quickly (at least the mouse!)

Have you reinstalled the game? Because you might still be playing the potato build.

By the way, I’ve counted days to the release of MSFS 2024 and now I’m playing free Genshin Impact, with native 4K resolution and 60 fps. Having a better time with this RPG than with the sim. It’s a disgrace that a premium AAA product looks much worse than a free to play game.

Don’t worry, in the worst case scenario you can fly on 2020, which is still an awesome experience, even in the lower rung Series S. 2024 is presently a disaster on the S, but much better on X

The whole bush experience, which is probably the main selling point of this edition, is greatly downgraded due to the incredible short draw distance. I just ask with passion and kindly to Jorge to be honest with us and have a better and more transparent comunication with the whole Xbox comunity. We are your customers and more often than not we feel like third class citizens. Is this an issue that can be fixed ?

well, high LOD needs a lot of VRAM and even challenges the better GPUs on PC. So adjusting settings is required for each users Hardware.

As you cant do this on Xbox, the Devs do it for you.

But right now, i think its server issue related, as my MSFS on PC Ultra does kinda look the same right now

Sim just crashed for me on Xbox X. Well, it froze on world map while zooming in and moving around California. But I then had to force exit.

To ask at least for more flexibility in terms of graphic options on console is not that strange, there are many games which offer different graphic settings and modes ( like quality/performance, for example ). Do you know how many options we have under the graphic tag ?

HDR: ON/OFF

I have a pretty good software/hardware knowledge, i used to be a very enthusiast PC player and i even study software development. I’m not living on Mars, so to speak. I’m not asking to have what you get on your PC at ultra settings. Just to be honest with us, to begin with. Something they totally forgot during the pre-launch of the game: in hours of videos, presentations, dev blogs, not a single word about the Xbox version. They still refuse to talk about the future of the ( ghost ) freeware section on the marketplace. Can we expect at least a more transparent and informative comunication with our comunity or we’re there just to dip money in the marketplace, paying 5-6 dollars for a bunch of liveries ? Do you know there’s not a single technical limitation on inporting graphic/sound assets on console ?

The issue is that this is a clear downgrade compared to MSFS 2020. All we wanted was to maintain the same level of fidelity as in 2020 on XSX. With Career added.

Even ground textures are blurry compared to MSFS 2020. the frame rate is much worse. The LOD transitions are bad. Almost everything, besides brighter lightning, is worse now.

Okay new issue. First time I’m getting the pink textures

Point 5 you mention is one of my biggest gripes, it ended up being the same in 2020, In particular I hate that runways are so blurry and pixilated until you get quite close.

Today I have struggled to get in and LOD been pretty bad. I blame the porting of 2020 addons that happened yesterday. Been stuck at 97% pretty much all day. Just tried now deleting my reserved space and trying again. It look a little while to get up to 90% but when it did I got in and all seemed fine aside from the flickery liveries which started today
