I can’t see any option, perhaps it’s because market place is unavailable, it would be crazy if they allowed this on PC and not Xbox.
Oh thank you! A lifesaver if true. Why didn’t they ask this on install. I don’t get it.
Mind linking where you found the information?
Why wouldn’t there be an option.
Huge improvement for us on our Series X this morning compared to yesterday.
My x box constantly crashes and won’t load any flights
Yesterday, terrible graphics, no download options, today the same. The only thing that has stopped is the queue.
Sorry to hear. I really didn’t do anything unusual. We do have a very fast ISP at around 800mbps down. Hope it works out for you.
Was looking forward to graphical improvements over 2020 and what an underwhelming result.
Now that server issues are being managed, I could make a few tests. Streaming seems ok as the Xbox was consuming 200mbits of bandwidth.
The looks of the sim on Xbox Series X is very disappointing, more than that it looks way worse than 2020 did recently, which was already not great compared to first versions of the game.
2 main issues :
- aliasing is everywhere. Each horizon line is plagued with ‘stair steps’ effect as bad as in games of 20 years ago.
- shimmering is everywhere. All 3D assets new to 2024 (trees, grass…) are shimmering like crazy.
Visual looks are appalling. Requesting a refund right now.
2024 should never have been ported to Xbox with this kind of result. Not respectful of the customer.
I think its just unavailable at present due to no marketplace and server strain.
Going into my library looks like you can change from streamed eventually, just the option is not there yet.
I’ll keep an eye out, but you are probably correct. It’s frustrating not being able to download default aircraft locally right now. The marketplace is only meant to be down because of 3rd party content not default content. It would be really good to have aircraft stored locally for those of us with lower spec’d bandwidth so we can properly assess their behaviour.
I mean can’t keep flying aircraft with many gauges blurred out to the point they can’t be read. See my post here for an example of how they currently look, and that’s airborne!
It would be a very very bad decision if it was removed altogether, 2020 we could store stuff, no reason to make 2024 worse, should be an option at least.
Here is hoping we can do it soon.
I was looking for the right word. Yeah cartoony lol
In the ALPHA version on YouTube I had noticed that strange light is a bit cartoony compared to MSFS 2020 but when I pointed it out they told me that it was only a problem of the ALPHA version
I got in game today and had a lot of issues that included no audio, no wings on the plane & my pilot sticking out of the plane holding an error sign
I posted some videos here
Yes, 100mbs is recommended.
But the game will still look like s*** because of very low res 3d models around the world.
I don’t use a console at all. I built my new gaming PC a year ago. 14700k, 48gb memory (@7200), Nice gaming MB, 4tb Gen4 high end NVMe game drive, 1tb high end OS Gen4 NVMe OS drive and my slowest component, an EVGA 3080ti FTW3 Ultra GPU. I also have 1gb/1gb bandwidth. I will upgrade my GPU to a 4080S in the future when I order the Pimax Crystal Light.
MSFS 2020 released in July of 2020 I believe. Xbox Series X released in Nov of 2020. Xbox Series X is now 4 years old. Getting pretty old in the tech world. We refresh our enterprise PC’s/Laptops at the 5/6 year mark. They get scraped. My previous gaming PC that I built was high end with an 8700k, 32gb memory, NVMe drive and a 1080ti and that lasted 5 years before I started to not be able to hit the FPS I wanted in the games I had been playing for a long time as they evolved just like MSFS is evolving. And these are high end gaming pc’s, not consoles.
My point is not to brag about my nice gaming PC’s, but to illustrate what I believe are some irrational expectations. MSFS2024 is a just released AAA game using a cloud based/streaming solution to lessen the storage space impact as well as alleviate server load.
Firstly, I see people who expect MSFS2024 to run as well or better than MSFS2020 on a 4 year old CONSOLE. C’mon guys. lol. Please be realistic. When it’s all said and done maybe MS pulled it off and it will run and have decent graphics as long as the person has good bandwidth. But good grief, this is a new AAA title and some expect perfection on a 4 year old CONSOLE.
Secondly, for everyone freaking out and leaving negative reviews about a game because you cannot get in on release day of a very highly anticipated AAA game, well, all I can do is laugh. Firstly, first world problems. Secondly, this is completely normal for ANY highly anticipated AAA game at this point. Just this morning I was talking to my friend who said it took him 2 days to be able to play Diablo 4 when it first launched. Think people, even a company like MS is not going to insanely beef up their servers so that they can absorb a 1-3 day hit of initial launch server traffic. What a waste that would be. As soon as the initial downloads are done and everything smooths out all that extra server space would be a waste.
TL;DR Don’t expect a 4 year old CONSOLE to play a brand new, hi rez, AAA game that needs large bandwidth like a brand new gaming PC.
Don’t expect to be able to hop right on and play ANY brand new AAA game the moment it releases. That’s just not how things work anymore.
Calm down and be patient. Flow with it.
Not being able to play is first world problems yes, but a bad review is first world solution.
No, a bad review based on not being able to get into a highly anticipated AAA game the moment it releases, especially one that has implemented a cloud/streaming solution, is irrational.
