Yeah guys. The LOD is completely broken. There is absolutely no detail in any object just from a few meters away. Everything graphics wise is hugely compromised. So ■■■■ glad I bought game pass instead of the real game. I expect an apologize from the MSFS team for this launch, especially on xbox. I understand that it is impossible for any game to launch with a 100% perfect sim, however this is on an another level of bad quality product.
Seb in the Asobo team said in the recent dev stream that the “improvements will be across the board, xbox is getting 500mb more ram due to new GDK, and another 2gb from virtual memory. This will help a lot in terms of performance”
Bruuhh Seb this simulator has never lagged this much, or freezed so much. LOD is in the badest shape possible. Objects look like potatoes with polygon shapes from 5 meters away. The mouse does not function, and in the sim if flickers and goes crazy when you try to steer. When loading into an airline, it freezes and crashes. Photogrammetry is barely loading in. It does not even look like building, just pure polygon shapes in very low resolution.
How in this world can you even say that this will help a lot in terms of performance?
Boys and girls: Request a refund for this If you have bought it. This is completely unacceptable. Unacceptable. The sim was in the best shape on release day 2021 for xbox. I don’t know how they even manage to decrease the graphics so much, but still get even worse performance? How is this possible? I can not understand it.
Very well said.
The comment from the PC guy above is ridiculous. The sim looked fantastic back in 2021, it doesn’t matter if the Xbox console is 4 years old.
I think I have a PC that is even more powerful than yours, if nothing else it has 64GB of RAM and a 4090, but the problem is not who has it “bigger” but it depends a lot on the connection you have..
Where I live the Internet connections are only 100Mbps nominal but usable 45/48 Mbps and I can’t do anything about it.
For this reason I consider the choice of the streamer crazy, because many simmers will be penalized by the Internet connection.
For now I will continue with 2020 which works great.
What speed is that 64gb running? I went 48 vs 64 because I couldn’t get 7200 out of 64. Also, just an FYI, DDR5 does not like 4 sticks at higher speeds.
You are absolutely correct that bandwidth is very important for MSFS2024.
Have you ever witnessed how the game used to look on series X on massive 4k screen?
I doubt you have.
Of course I totally understand that new game with massively improved visual fidelity would strongly hinder performance on old hardware. But this is not at all the case with MS2024 : it looks hideous, HUGE step back from 2020 while performance remains ok. How is that normal?
I would have understood if 24 looked better than 20 at the cost of performance. But once again this ain’t the case at all.
My system is an i9-13900K with a 2x32GB Kit DDR5 6000 low latency that I recently installed.
For me it runs great, with MSFS2020 in K4 I always have at least 70/90FPS in flight and 50FPS in airports like EDDF with AI traffic.
I’m choosing to ignore that. I said this before release to members that didn’t care that we didn’t get Xbox in game footage or previews. It should work on Xbox because just maybe…
Im not at all shocked we have members gaslighting us still about hardware and console compatibility. It’s been happening here for 3 and a 1/2 years now.
But here we go again another Xbox thread turned into a Xbox vs pc thread from our pc members. “Just buy a pc. Xbox isn’t compatible” This argument has gotten so old it’s starting to bald.
Holy cow. I was not arguing or stating that anyone should get a PC instead of a console.
Did anyone stop and think for just a second that a day 1 release of a highly anticipated AAA game where most likely millions of people are trying to access it at the same time, coupled with the fact that it is a cloud/stream based game that requires decent/solid bandwidth just might be having problems loading graphics and that they may not look the best until the issues/load decreases and every thing can load/stream in a timely manner.
I even stated in my original post that MSFS2024 might work perfectly fine on a 4 year old console, but expectations should be tempered.
Sorry for trying to be rational instead of freaking out and whinning.
Maybe because it is using a cloud/streaming solution that requires quite a bit of bandwidth and since it literally just released the servers are being hammered and the ability to stream the content effectively is not currently working the best.
Just a thought, what do I know, apparently as someone else stated, I am just ridiculous. smh.
Nice build. I went with 48 DDR5 (2x24) so I could maximize the 7200 my motherboard supports for specific, tested memory sets. I feel I get more out of the speed increase than the extra 16gb. It obviously depends on what you use your PC for. The most memory I have ever used was 23gb.
I had a really good flight this morning out of Heathrow and sightseeing London. Everything looked great and sharp. It was smooth too. So there is hope I think.
It’s definitely dependent on a good connection as I was flying when not many would be up.
But I always test London and NY. as I’m most familiar with them.
There is hope for us on Xbox if this was any indication.
Though I did notice that my joystick settings did not save and I had to reset everything again.
People need to stop looking down on consoles as if they had 4GB of RAM, a dual-core processor, and who knows how many MB of video. The Xbox is just as capable as a PC. It’s not like everyone on the PC has a state-of-the-art machine. The issue here is poor code and accelerated development. I’ve been explaining on this forum for a long time that the complexity of avionics should be left aside on consoles, as this compromised the entire memory performance of the Xbox. And then they promised the new GDK and are pushing it until we forget about it. And I dare say more, this GDK probably won’t even work on MSFS 2024. I’m tired of this “buy a PC” nonsense, if we wanted or could afford to get a PC we would. It’s not a simple matter and honestly, it’s tiring to have to draw these things for those who refuse to understand.
I am not trying to be dismissive. I feel bad for everyone who is having trouble. I was not able to get in either, but I never expected to.
I was just trying to insert some reality into the irrational.
I am sure it will work and look fine on the Xbox Series X. I am sure MS has tested it.
Give it a few days and I am sure everything will be fine.
In general, imo, leaving negative feedback for a game that just launched and is cloud/streaming dependent and that huge amounts of people are trying to access at the same time is a little short sited and irrational.
