IMO, developers like this should never be allowed on the marketplace. Imagine being a new simmer and buying one of these sceneries, new simmers may not be as vigilant and therefore may fall into this trap. There is no other way to state this, MSFSscenerybuilders airports are a scam. When flytampa charges 19 dollars for an incredibly done, highly detailed, and intricate scenery, but MSFSscenerybuilders charges the same price for an awfully done terminal with runways and taxiways that are worse than the default autogen, there is clearly an issue. These scammers need to be permanently banned from the marketplace.
Not only does msfsscenerybuilders do horrible work but they do so many airports so quickly that I suspect they make it less likely that someone who would intend to do a good job might actually do one of those airports. I dont know but msfsscenerybuilders is doing harm and not good. and Ive trusted them for the last time – they are not changing their ways.
PS: KDET is terrible.
PPS: why is this in ‘Scenery Packs’ and not ‘airports’?
I think the bigger question here is why does MSFS2020 allow “sub standard” work to infiltrate the Market Place. They, evidently have no set standards for who’s work is either accepted or rejected.
I agree with many of these posts, especially about allowing such sub standard add-ons to be sold on the market place. I also see the predicament this sort of thing puts on Asobo/MS. I thing the market place is young and hope for future changes. Maybe something like if something is rated low enough that they investigate that particular payware. For now I would be happy with a filter to exclude a particular developer from the market place and it’s associated airport map! That would be great.
Devs that just spew out junk to take the airport spot can put off other developers. One of my favorite developers actually, LVFR postponed their MSFS KRSW because others already did it. None nearly the quality of LVFR.
I have noticed that MSFSceneryBuilders has a ton of similarities to FSXCENERY and not just their way of airports, but in many other things. They even have the same typos, haha.
MSFSceneryBuilders, if you read this. Make good with what you’ve put out and update your textures. Add proper AI taxi lines, service areas, etc. Illuminate ground, fix things! Stop just spamming the marketplace with junk until you fix what you have. Your own future sales depend on it!
They are the same company. Just different names in SimMarket and the Marketplace, but exact same products.
I bought their rendition of KSFB and the jetbridges aren’t even functional lmao, steer clear of this trash dev, these guys are most definitely a scam, I hope they get taken off of the marketplace. Anyone know if there is a proper channel to report scammers on MSFS marketplace to Asobo/Microsoft?
Selling bad products is not a scam.
Folks - this entire thread is a Voice of the Customer feedback, which is not the intent of the Third Party forums - these subfora are provided for General Discussion of third party products. Complaints, which constitute customer feedback, need to be sent directly to the manufacturer. This retailer is apparently also d/b/a FSXScenery:
Please send complaints directly to them using their channels. Let’s keep this for General Conversation of the products. Thanks!
I have known the horrible, substandard of this “so called dev” for a great many years, from way back in the FSX era, so to “CasualClick” I have a question. You are obviously monitoring this thread and have read many, if not all of the posts. Here is my question. Considering the truly horrible standard of this dev, please tell all of us what words, exactly, we must use in the industrious pursuit of our “General Conversation” regarding our views and reviews of the “products” perpetrated by this uncontactable and unaccountable developer? Secondly, is it your opinion that there should be no displeasurable comments made about any of the MSFS supported developers? I think it would be very helpful, especially for the very new and basically very vulnerable simmers.
This is a requirement of the subforum intentions and not an “opinion” of the staff. There are multiple complaints that are intended directly for and can only be actioned by the manufacturer. The Title alone is a clear indicator of Voice of the Customer Feedback. This isn’t the purpose of this forum.
One thing that would help me. You can see my earlier posts, I’m currently up to 7 emails trying to get support from that exact email address. I’ve never received a response for my still-occurring issues. Not one.
Where are we supposed to get support and ideally warn others? I’d like to know if something I buy will not come with support. That’s why we shop for warranties when buying cars, appliances, etc.
Microsoft is allowing vendors to sell products that appear to have no intention of offering support.
Where do we go?
The only suggestion we can make is for you to file a Zendesk Ticket. I have no insight on the triage and routing, but someone will respond.
Thank you! And please accept my apologies if I came across in a bad way. I’m normally a calm person but situations like this really get me going.
No worries. Your response was very kind and considered!
The reason this reminder has to be made consistently in this sub-forum is because being critical of a product is actually a key component of discussing it.
It’s understandable to argue that it’s unproductive if it’s a complaint only the developer can resolve, but flagging issues for other users to be aware of before they buy on a marketplace without much protection and a substandard refund policy isn’t unreasonable either.
I get that Microsoft and Asobo may not want critical discussion of developers selling products on the marketplace for many reasons, but that’s what’s going to happen if there’s no other outlet to do so and MS/Asobo refuse to curate products on their end.
And I totally get that you’re just enforcing the rules, so this isn’t blaming anyone on staff who do good work to keep discussions on track.
Thank you. I was about to buy some local regional airports from this dev because they’re on sale in the Marketplace for Black Friday, so why not? But then I found this thread. As there’s no way to leave a comment on a Marketplace review, and there are no other reviews of these small regional airports, I have no idea what I’m going to be buying. Having threads like this are extremely useful to other users, even if the complaints are directed at a dev who is probably never going to see them.
I’ll probably just wait for the World Hub now. I imagine that’s going to be a boon for those wanting a better all around airport experience, and we won’t be suckered into shelling out for what amounts to scenery shovelware.
I am also looking forward to the World Hub, though the way the SDK developers sort of tamped down on its capabilities in the latest Q&A don’t make me too optimistic (they weren’t even sure how often updates would come with it, which was odd). But I guess we will see.
Just stumbled across this devs port of FSX KAGC. It might be a slight improvement of the AI generated version in the base game. But not worth almost $15.
I disagree with asking Microsoft to “police” their store for “substandard” products. The question regarding that…Where do you draw the line? For instance, some people don’t like a certain vendor who releases “planes” with no cockpits. Yet I see liveries for those planes on FS.to. So, who’s to judge what some people might want to purchase and what they’ll pay?
What I would like to see is the ability for individuals to hide particular vendors from view in the Marketplace. There are vendors I won’t buy from, this being one of them, and there are others, and they clog my ability to see products I do want to purchase.
(I hope this post meets the guidelines)
I mean a store is a store. They’re free to offer whatever products they want. It’s the consumer who bears the burden of doing their homework in deciding which products to buy or purchase. The Marketplace is just that, a place for any range of simulation based products to be offered. Junk products or hidden gems are all part of the playing field. Don’t understand how people but the blame on MS. As the old saying goes, when you point a finger at someone, there’s three pointing right back.
