While the sim itself may be considered a game, spending extra money on add-ons isn’t. It would be one thing if these were free, or even if there was a short term refund policy where you then have the items forcefully removed as part of the process. But as it stands, there is no easy way for the average consumer to research marketplace items without going out of their way. And once Microsoft has your money good luck getting it back on what amounts to a defective product. Could you imagine if stores had no return policies on everything? There would be riots.
So yes, some of the blame should lay at the feet of Microsoft. They don’t really need to police their marketplace, but there are options to protect the consumer. Having a developer rating, and a short term refund policy would practically halt these scams. When a shady developer has a 1 star global review next to their name, they can’t hide from poor ratings by constantly shoveling new stuff out and burying the old. When people realize how bad they are and get refunds, the profit motive disappears, and so too will the developer (unless they turn around and actually improve their offerings).
MSFSSceneryBuilders Payware Lanseria Airport, FALA in South Africa. The following Text has been Uploaded to MSFSSceneryBuilders Facebook Page:
Hello. I own Lanseria Airport(FALA), bought from the Market place of MSFS. I noticed that when having FSTL active, there’s no traffic displays. It seems that something is not quite right in the ground layout and taxiways. Is there possibly going to be an update for this airport where this can be corrected? Thanks.
This was posted 2 days ago. I’m not sure if anyone from MSFSSceneryBuilders takes the trouble in taking it’s customers who willingly paid for their Scenery which they advertise on the Marketplace of MSFS, but so far there has been no reaction from them and it seems to me, they don’t want to publicise my post of their wrong doing on facebook. See the attached Screenshot.
This is simply wrong and disrespectful towards the paying customers. I can’t understand why Microsoft and Asobo allow this vendor on the Marketplace. Please do something about this!
The problem is that MSFSSceneryBuilders has flooded the marketplace with many subpar smaller airports that are unlikely to be developed by anyone else. So we are stuck with these.
Actually, there is no reason to buy any airports from them if they choose to ignore their existing customers. So we are not „stuck with these“ as you wrote.
I’d never buy anything from this dev (among others) and I’m surprised people have, if I’m honest. Their products look terrible going off their promo images alone — if you can’t even dress your product up nicely in promo images, it must be REALLY bad!
This is not a dig but some of you really ought to do more diligent research before you waste more of your hard-earned money. That said, if they’re cheap, I suppose they’re expendable.
Stop complaining about the bad quality, which I agree with, and dont buy their ■■■■. It will be the only way to stop them from producing it. If people buy the low qaulity stuff they will continue to produce it. So stop complaining and stop buying.
My complaint about the complaints is the complainers think other simmers can’t think for themselves and need to be told how to think and what to buy. I personely like msseanery products. So do alot of others . To say they have low standards is not fair. Most simmers can think for themselves. If MS “curates” all the perceived bad products as some who have a beef with and don’t want others to buy…more than half of content would be gone. Thank goodness that will never happen. Just dont buy their products .
KPBI Palm Beach Int’l Airport stalls the loading of MSFS2020. The MSFS startup music keeps playing and the text at bottom of screen keeps changing, but the loading bar stops at about 80% and just sits there.
I also noticed it’s not being sold on Flightsim.com so I have to assume they MSFS Scenery Builders have abandoned it. No recent updates either.
