If I click on the ‘hardware listener’ box (whatever that is) it causes the sim to CTD every time. 0 steps forward, 2 steps back.

ISSUE DESCRIPTION
Tobii Eye tracker 5 never worked for me, it works in 2020 but not in 20204, I tried the Open track solution as well, never worked either, as of today Feb 2025 still it appears like if my eye tracker is not even receiving anything, (i do see the red lights on, i have reinstalled tobii and recalibrated successfully so i know it works)
But msfs 2024 wont pick it up at all, tested alt + 7 and alt + 8 to toogle eye tracking on and off, and recenter, no effect.
[PC Only] Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue?
It is a clean install, nothing else have been added, never did a flight yet, trying to get this to work, using the latest version as of today

Wish it was earlier, but at least they have it in the pipeline.

For info the Tobii works perfectly on FS2024, even better than on FS 2020, you just have to make certain corrections, works perfectly, and no Open Track, it works natively under FS2024, you just have to follow my documentation to fix this problem

We don’t all know how to edit with XML and are not all highly proficient with computer languages or process’. It is the responsibility of the game/sim developer who has sold the product to have systems working correctly within the product purchased. I want to get a Tobii but am currently put off by all the negative press about it and am obviously not comfortable trying to change code as I do not have a clue how to do it - as, I am sure, are many others.

I completely agree. But editing an XML file is very easy.
All you need is to install Notepad++ (you can use it just like Notepad, but it’s infinitely better…)
Follow the instructions found on this forum for editing the file (again, easy - you just have to be precise.)
Save it. Done.
I’m so used to workarounds now it almost doesn’t bother me. I can’t let it bother me, because it’s the reality of the 2020 and 2024 versions (and probable 2028 and 2032 versions as well) of this sim we live with.

The tobii issue remains on the bug list for attention and hopefully a solution in SU2.

I just wish I could use the work around. I can’t find the XML on my steam install. None of the folders people tell me to look for seem to exist in Windows 10 Steam version.

Rather than editing the XML files directly, which is obviously not possible if you can’t locate the correct ones, have you tried the Tobii Game Hub method mentioned above?

I agree that it should have been working on release. But it’s not, so we have to take the bull by the horns and put a band-aid on it (a mixed metaphor seems apropos here…)
I’m on the MS-Store version, but maybe this info will help Steam users?
I used ‘Agent Ransack’ to find tobii.xml for FS2024 in three places:
“C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.Limitless_1.3.23.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\Packages\Asobo-input-profiles-pc\InputProfiles\Categories\Transversal\Tobii.xml”

Modifying the one on the C: drive automatically updated the two files on the D: drive. The sim was not running when I made the change.

This is how I got Tobii working as well… From what I’ve heard, the official fix is expected in SU2

Yahoo!!Tobii have issued a new verion of their gamehub which allows us to get Tobii working all revealed on their website.You do have to select your game profile from MSFS,Gamehub will recognise if you already have one and displays it in the hub.Otherwise it has a default profile ready…
