Toolbar Missing and ability to change certain weather settings missing when loading a saved flight

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?

YES.

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:

Not only the command bar is not visible, also the flight plan is empty. There are no work around that I know. Just usless. I have purchased both the DVD and the online version for the XBOX in addition to a special expensive controller. I am limited to short flights since cannot save longer ones.
Please let us know if this issue can be fixed.
Thank you.

If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:

I just discovered the save functionality and was extremly disapointed by the inability of selecting time and weather.

The toolbar disapears when saving/loading from the xbox cloud. Locally saves show the toolbar. However no weather changes

I have the exact same issue

Look at the posting #37 and #38 in this thread. Changing those flight file settings fixed for me also the weather settings beeing greyed out.

Ok thanks. I think my weather is live (the button is greyed out but enabled). The time however is not live (grey and disabled). I know I can edit the time but is there a way to enable it as well?

Dear Moderators: Please connect this thread with the similar thread “Change of weather and time after loading a saved flight” that has another 118 votes!
So our problems shows in reality a total of 266 votes and that should give us a better chance for improvement!

It may be that we have a better chance of restoring the save/load functionality from FSX if we can convince Asobo that they will sell more product if this function is included in MSFS (a fully functional/usable version).

We have checked with the team and the have noted two separate bugs:

Unable to make changes to Time of Day and Weather after loading a flight (FLT)

and

Unable to bring up / interact with in-flight toolbar and menus after loading flight (FLT) file from XCLOUD

So we plan on keeping the threads separate. Thanks for checking!

And confirming what Hester said, once a bug is logged, the votes don’t matter much.

Jummivana,

The bugs you noted are not the whole story of what our expectations are regarding the save and load functions. I have documented the expectations here:

Do I/we need to submit a wish list item to get the functionality documented in this post? It’s sounding like the answer to that is “yes”. Just fixing the two bugs you noted will not provide the save/load functionality we were used to in FSX and need in MSFS.

That is correct, the team pulled out those two bugs specifically out of the posts.

Doesn’t “Unable to bring up / interact with in-flight toolbar and menus after loading flight (FLT) file from XCLOUD” essentially mean that you can’t change the time and weather, since they are in the menus? Not sure how these are 2 different things…

In my case there are seperated (kind of). When I load a savegame from the cloud, the toolbar disapears. When I’m loading a local savegame I can see and interact with everything from the toolbar but cannot change the weather and time.

Any estimate when we a bugfix will be released?

I believe the current estimate is for sometime in 2028. That is for them to fix what they consider two “bugs”. Whether that will give us the same save and resume later functionality we had in FSX remains to be seen. The whole concept of saving a flight “as/where/how is” and resuming it later, and making it work needs to be thought thru by Asobo and then implemented. Just know that Asobo did not copy this kind of ability over from FSX for the first few years of MSFS’s life. So we users need to be satisfied with starting each flight pretty much “fresh” each time. In summary, there are two known save/load bugs Asobo plans to fix sometime in the future. The bigger picture of continuing the same flight later (everything still in tact) is not on Asobo’s plate as a “to do” item at this time. I would love to have someone of authority negate what I have just said. :slightly_smiling_face:

Calling them bugs, makes the assumption that these issues are trivial. They are not minor issues. These are SIGNIFICANT issues that severely affect the payability and usability of the simulator. Because of this, I have had to mostly abandon the use of MSFS and use P3D v5 instead. There really needs to be a “Saved and Resume” function.

…That worked from the first day of release 2.5 years ago…

P.S. For a long time now I’ve been trying to understand why/how MSFS came out missing a lot of the functionality/usability of FSX. I mean, if MSFS is an upgrade to FSX (as claimed by their “anniversary” issue), how could this happen? Were/Are the developers not users of FSX or even any flight simulator? If one of the many MSFS “gurus” here has an answer to this, I am curious to know, albeit an academic issue.

I am on XBox, how do you do a ‘local’ save versus a cloud save?

Thanks!

On Pc I have the option to save/load it locally or in the cloud. Can talk for xbox Environment

I completely agree. I need to make multiple legs and want the feeling of following a journey with current weather and time

I can confirm that this is still not fixed! I’m having a great trouble after saving flight as i can’t change payload, refuel, access ATC or navlog and weather.

Tried contacting a support (zendesk) and i got answer from them that they filed my request as a “feature request”. So I’m thinking that this unfortunately could be a feature?
