Toolbar Pushback

I still cannot get the pre planned push back to work like others. Been in talks with the developer but unless I plot a single large arc back to the taxiway with the aircraft icon rotated and with only one click point it goes absolutely bananas. The pushback cannot hold a straight line and snakes left and right with increasing verocity until the air aft is spinning 180 to 360 degrees left then right. Even with a large arc it still sways a bit left and right. Tried everything, no other Addons, default aircraft, various airports, controllers all unplugged. I even formatted my entire pc and reinstalled pushback toolbar nd it was the same. The manual pushback works fine though you can’t exactly start engines etc from with the cockpit as you need an external view to annually control the direction etc

Maybe faulty mouse. Try a different one.

Thanks. Sometimes works sometimes don’t.

@KuHaMi Are you using the latest version of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020?

@tibu73 In case it’s not working, simply resize the Pushback Planner window a little bit, which will trigger a map reset but leaves your planned route in tact and restores the Aircraft Icon and Path.

I am using the steam version 1.25.7.0

How is this possible? The updates are mandatory aren’t they? How do you ignore updates and run the sim normally?

A method was posted recently on one of the forums (Avsim or Asobo) on how to disable updates being checked via an edit to the Windows Hosts file. It is probably not recommended.

Ah, I didn’t know that. That would explain it then
Thanks

Hello!

First of all thank you very much for this tool. It helps a lot with the imersion when operating an airliner.

One question though. Is there a way to connect the truck but wait with the preplanning and pushback? This would be very helpful when flying online on VATSIM. On crowded events it is helpful when you are actually ready for push back when you get the clearence.

Again thank you very much for this tool!

Looking forward for some feedback.

You can, when you execute the preplanned pushback, let it connect and you should have the “Hold” button visible. As soon as it’s active, you can click it and the pushback tug will stay attached but hold your aircraft stationary.

However, I think you still need to disengage parking brake to get it to “start moving” then immediately press the “Hold” button to stop. Until you’re ready and you can resume it.

add toolbar pushback fps drop 2 hours from 30 to 10 again
removed toolbar pushback fps 30 long

Is the performance drop back after SU9? I have a feeling it’s back. Anyone can confirm this?

No fine for me

That is an interesting idea. But this does require me to preplane the pushback before I got the clearance. So if ATC decides to give me a different pushback clearance then I preplanned I would ne to stop the pushback, wouldn’t I?
This would be fine if I could replan the pushback with the tug staying connected to the plane. But as far as I can tell from my tests this is not possible, is it?

Thanks for your idea!

I think you have to preplan the pushback first, yes.. But I don’t know what you mean by ATC giving you a different pushback clearance. Are you using a different ATC than the default one? Because using the Toolbar Pushback “replaces” the default ATC pushback clearance.

I just immediately start the pushback as soon as I’m ready without going through the ATC clearance, but I suppose if you pre-plan first, then use the ATC window to get pushback clearance, it should still behave the same way as you start your pushback through the Toolbar Pushback tool. Then just press the Hold button to stay in place when the button is active.

I don’t think you can replan the pushback once it’s started though. So you have to know where you want to pushback to, and either commit to it, or cancel it.

@AmbitiousPilots Any Feedback on those Performance issues after few hours? There are a lot reports on flightsim.to I also have Performance issues and/or CTD’s after 4-5 hours. Without your Tool my Sim is running for 12 hours without any problems.

Nothing from me. I mean I do get CTD from time to time on a long flight, but those are pretty random. Sometimes I can go about 12 hours of flight without problems, and sometimes I got CTD after 6 hours or so. Both are using the Toolbar Pushback Addon.

Same experience from me. Except for the one version where there pushback tool actually didn’t close (and was still clickable while invisible on the screen), I have not seen any correlation to decreased performance or CTD’s with tool bar pushback being used. Yes I’ll still rarely get a CTD or see some fps degradation on a longer flight, but it seems random with no clear cause other than a core sim instability.

If you check the comments on flightsim.to you can see that also others are affected. I also know some people which don’t have this issue. Maybe its just related to some settings or system configs.
