Thank you for this feedback. I just tried two re-loading of sim. After about 10 minutes of flying the F-22, I changed airports and it froze again. I re-loaded the sim, still having the F-22 selected, and fresh off a re-load, the F-22 controls were still not responding. I changed aircraft, and no controls for other aircraft.
I then re-started the sim, with another aircraft(not the F-22), and when the sim loaded up, that aircraft’s controls worked. I then switched to the F-22. Was flying okay, but then when I switched airports, still with the F-22 selected, when I clicked ready to fly, the controls on the F-22 were not responding. Just the stick wasn’t responding.
All of this was with the FBW version though, so now I will try with the non-FBW and see if the problem persist or not.
I look forward to your feedback on the non-FBW version.
I sincerely hope that the developer is keeping an eye on the problem and may include it in an upcoming update.
But I have to say that apart from this bug I really love the F-22!!! Many thanks here to the developers of TopMachStudios!
I would just like to add to the observations of many people here - my controls get “locked out”. No controls respond to the inputs of my TCA Airbus sidestick when I load into a flight. I am on SU9 and don’t want to switch to beta. This is the FBW version as many people are observing, and I see no point in flying the non-FBW since it’s not capable.
Just to be clear I don’t have the freeware version at all and have also tried it vanilla. Restarting the sim gives the same result too. How can this major issue be resolved and how did the devs not see this in their months of beta testing?
I have been flying the non-FBW version since I replied to your post. Zero issues, and I second your thoughts regarding the bug. I am holding judgement on this aircraft until I fly it more, but so far I am really enjoying it and I have yet to hit the canyon b/c I’m just having fun doing other stuff like thrust vectoring around landmarks in big cities.
I have been going from multiple airports and doing that in the FBW version would have locked up the controls a long time ago. I’m glad you chimed in because I’m sure this will help the developer’s narrow down the problem.
The F-22 does not have a turn radius, it has a flip radius. And it’s very addicting.
I still have the freeware F-22A and have been flying it yesterday and today and noticed the control bug exists also there. In the VC, the yoke, throttle and rudder are not animated, while in outside vieuw, I can see the rudder, flaps and elevators moving according to my joystick movements. During taxi and flight there are no control issues, even when I switch airport. But the control bug begins when I switch plane: then my controls do not work at all. No rudder and elevators, only flaps and throttle work. Restarting the flight did not solve the issue.
So, imho this issue the payware version has, originates in the freeware version. This bug must have been started somewhere during the latest update, because it did not occur earlier. Perhaps this info will help the devs to find the cause of the control bug.
I’m holding off on the purchase due to something I noted in just about all review videos I have watched thus far, and that is that the control surfaces go dead in replay mode. Most Youtubers mention this during the beginning of their replay. I suspect this issue is related to the issues with controls above. Just thought I’d put it out there to help the dev pinpoint the issues.
Conversely, I’ve been flying it and other aircraft for two days now without any control issues, and I did have the freeware version at some point, so it’s not affecting everyone.
Solid observations Dutch
I agree with all of it.
I don’t want people put off by the product though. People need to remember how professional Dakfly and Evanburnsdev have been with their freeware product. It’s not like that level of care for their product would dwindle when it becomes a premium product.
Unfortunately I am learning with pc gaming, lots of variables happen and I’m sure much of it is hard to predict. But more than that, I am sure all of these issues will get hashed out. TMS guys just need to gain information, learn all about the problem so they can implement a solution.
I back them and do not regret supporting them, and only wish I could have supported them sooner lol
I’m still learning the flight model but the process is very enjoyable
Appreciate the reply! didnt test with the non-FBW
but i tried everything to eliminate the shaking and no success.
Let me know if happens to you.
ps: going to test on the non FBW and will report back
I just was flying the non-FBW and I checked the assistance settings which usually reads hard on all except for user is custom. For the first time ever, I got this screen-
I tried to search what this new screen was about, and I came across this-
https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/619315-fenix-a320-corrupts-assistance-options-weird/
I seem to have the same issue but it happened for me with the F-22
Interesting! I have to test as soon as I’m back in the cockpit. ![]()
Still shaking on both versions.
So what i’ve discovered in my issue with not being able to cold/dark start the plane is regardless of screen I use in the cockpit. When hitting Menu->CFG there’s supposed to be a “Sim” button. Well I don’t have that at all. Any idea why? (Running SU 10 Beta)
You’re looking in the pfd?
I just attached a screenshot. I’ve watched 2-3 youtube tutorials on cold start and they all have the “sim” button but for some reason I dont? Also assuming that’s why I can’t get the engines to start when I press pump, ign, and start as nothing happens.
Pfd is the big screen in the middle. The sim menu is found there. Not in the three smaller smfd screens.
D’oh! I assumed you could do everything in any of the screens. Let me try it!
Do you mean the throttle animation is oscillating? Or is the thrust level also changing?
Throttle animation keep shaking inside the cockpit but also on the sensibility screen
Thrust level seems to be fine.
