Top Mach Studios: Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor

The irony of PancakeAgent waffling around on this decision :stuck_out_tongue:

I downloaded and installed the latest hot fix version (1.1.5). When I went into my content manager it still shows the original version number. Did I do something wrong? I did remove the original version before installing the latest.

I’m getting that also. Maybe it’s a crosswind thing?
I have to test it some more.

In the meantime, I’m having LOTS of fun with it.
Here’s my 2nd flight (crashed the first time as I bled off too much airspeed on final).

No, it’s just an error in versioning number. You should be good to go.

Thanks, Dakfly!

Neat, jet engine roar at a distance is also implemented. Seen two other F22s earlier making a ruckus.

This is also the only other plane besides the default Hornet to have sonic booms when circling the external view around

Clearly you don’t own the Concorde…

No Concorde here but I do own the F-14 so…

Bad news for xbox users(not me), great news for Top Mach Studios.

Looks like TMS flexed THEIR F-22 and Iris Simulations realized they would not be able to put a product out even close to TMS Raptor that Iris Simulations has decided to cancel their F-22 and focus on aircraft that will not directly compete with Dakfly and Evanburnsdev.

I think it mighy have something to do with Just Flights installer. I installed it 3 times, and never once did it go directly to my official steam folder. Got some really weird stuff happening in my sim lately.

When SU 10 drops im doing a clean instsll…(again)

Regarding the sonic boom on military jets…

The F-14 is currently the only aircraft that has an automatic “boom” sound that you can hear in external pov as you pass mach 1. However, once sound barrier has been broken, you can still hear the engine.

The F-22 is similar to the SU-57 and Mig 29 as none of those have the automatic boom, however once mach 1 has been met, if you change views from left side, right side, or rear view, you will not hear the engine if youre past mach 1, and then when you release the camera view you will hear a “boom” sound on all three. Unfortunately at this point in time, unlike the previous two, once the F-22 has broken the sound barrier, if you change views you eill still hear the boom, but you will also still hear tbe engine.

As of now, the F-14 and F-22 are the only military jets that you can still hear the engine after mach 1.

When i say only, im only comparing military jets i own-F-14, F-15, F-16, Mig 29, SU-57, and TMS F-22.

I do not include the Eurofighter or Iris Simulation bc although i own them, i put them in a separate class. A class waaay beneath all other jets.

Only bad news for xbox users if SU10 doesn’t provide support for wasm in the xbox environment. Otherwise, we’ll have the F-22 in the marketplace and xbox after SU10 drops.

Hello, everyone
I (SU9) now have update 1.1.5. Prior to this update I was unable to fly the FBW version due to known issues with the controls. The freeware version has already been uninstalled.
Now I’ve noticed that the two large flaps on the left and right are pointing upwards, both in Cold&Dark and when taking off from the runway. These only fold back when the landing gear is retracted during takeoff. For the rest of the flight, the FBW version works perfectly.
Did I miss something?
I can live with that, but it looks a bit strange with the flaps up.
Unfortunately I forgot to take a screenshot

My bad, I was confused. I was thinking the ripoff $20 F-22 was from iris simulations. I don’t follow the really bad aircraft closely to make the distinction. Unfortunately that other F-22 developer is still in business, despite his product being consistently rated low and complained about.

I’ve seen the flaps be up as well, but attributed that to a delay in the sim. I know in multiple other aircraft sometimes it takes a few seconds for flaps and afterburner animation to catch up to the initial inputs. I stll however haven’t had the FBW version work. I mean, it flys, but the FBW aspect does not. Your trim adjust automatically in the FBW version?

Thank you for the feedback.
I’m not quite sure what you mean by “trim adjust automatically”?
Unfortunately I didn’t have enough time to study the manual the last few days. But I will do that as soon as possible. Because RFM (Read the F… Manuel) is so important!

The FBW is supposed to auto trim for you. There are two F-22 variants from TMS, the FBW and non FBW. The non FBW you’re supposed to manually adjust the trim. My F-22 FBW, has never auto trimmed. The F-15 and F-16 fbw auto trims. You can disable it in the F-16 if you want to manually trim, but as of now, at least for me, the FBW in the TMS F-22 does not auto trim, ever.

I did however just do some vertical thrust acceleration test on multiple military jets and TMS F-22 absolutely reigns supreme.

Also, the afterburners actually do look really cool from close up. At night at a distance I’m not keen on it but up close, it’s really cool looking.

Although I too feel for Iris Simulations, I am very happy for Top Mach Studios.

Darkfly0219 (a one man developer at the time I believe) is the reason I wasn’t totally disgruntled and bitter about purchasing the MSFS Premium Deluxe version of the sim. Until I discovered his freeware Longitude mod, I was upset that I wasted my money on the Premium version of the game. If I’m not mistaken, Darkfly made the Longitude Improvement Project that made the default “Premium” Longitude enjoyable soon after the initial game release.

At least I think he’s the same guy. Recently, I’ve been known to confuse developers and people. :grimacing:
