Does NO-FBW mean Not fly-by-wire? I am trying to figure out which variant of the F-22A is fly-by-wire.

Use the one not labeled No-FBW. that one is for keyboard users and other non-standard input control devices.

I could have swore I saw someone online remove tanks from inside the f-22 cockpit menu but didn’t see specifically how.

Anyways, this cool spinning cobra maneuver was done well and looked good. Performed by Aaron Rheins

Cool maneuver! You got the manual? Describes how to remove fuel tanks. However there’s a persistent data bug in the Marketplace version (an Asobo issue not on our end) that doesn’t save the setting. We’ve contacted them but no response yet.

It’s in the main screen config menu, there’s a left screen to remove them for the current flight, and the right side of the screen toggles them permanently

Any chance too see an update (?), the plane seems to be broken at highspeed…

Are you referring to the freeware or payware model. And can you provide more information regarding your reported issue? Telling us it’s broken isn’t much to go on.

If your issue is with the payware / premium model, please visit us on Discord to report / discuss.

I didn’t see it mentioned in the change log, but I have done multiple departures post update and the aircraft no longer “pulls” to the side during departure. Fantastic! Thank you for addressing that.

I still have not been able to locate this.

If I can figure it out one time, I am sure I can remember it for the future.

I am not trying to be difficult, but I have given an honest effort to look at the screens, hit buttons, I saw one with fuel but it wasn’t doing anything with the tanks.

I have read the manual but it doesn’t really give details on “go to this screen, hit the 2nd button on the…”

“Drop Tank and Weapons Page(s): By default the aircraft will load with weapons; for this release (nonMicrosoft Marketplace versions only) we’ve limited the weapons load to the standard Air to Air mix of 2
Aim-9X Sidewinders, and 6 Aim-120D AMRAAM missiles. These are merely for “show” and have no
function, but they will affect aircraft weight. However, you may notice that when the missiles are
removed, the weight and loading menu doesn’t reflect the change. This is a game bug. Have no fear,
though, because the weight is being reduced and this can be seen in the weight debug menu, just not in
the weight and loading page. You will also sometimes see the flight path marker will oscillate when the
aircraft is sitting on the ground and you add and remove weapons from the aircraft, indicating a change
in aircraft weight. To remove weapons, simply click on the Remove Weapons option so that it has a
white box and the text is white. This will reduce aircraft weight by 2,640 pounds. If you want weapons to
only load when you select them from the in-session menu and not by default, select the Start Weapons
Removed option on page 2 of the persistent options menu (white box, white text).
Drop tank models will display automatically anytime the aircraft is loaded into the session with fuel
loaded into the left and/or right auxiliary fuel tanks. Alternately, once in session you can also select the
“Drop Tanks” option in the Per Session option to hide or display the tanks. If you’ve placed fuel in the
external tanks and then remove the tanks using this option, fuel will be removed from the aircraft. Also,

once in session, you can then add fuel to the auxiliary tanks if desired, but the drop tanks will not display
– they will be hidden until you select the “Drop Tanks” option to show them again. If you wish to avoid
having drop tanks displayed in future flight sessions, you can click the Drop Tanks Fully Disabled option
(white box, white text) in the Persistent Options menu and the aircraft will only load with fuel in the left
and right main tanks regardless of what you select in the aircraft selection menu in the game lobby; you
can display the tanks within a given session by then selecting “Drop Tanks” in the Per Session options
and you will need to manually add fuel from the weight and loading widget within the session.”

Where is the "you can also select the
“Drop Tanks” option in the Per Session option" located?

Are there any plans for more liveries?

For the freeware version of the aircraft, what you see is what you get. We’re still keeping it updated if there’s any breaking changes that are made in the sim, but most of our focus is geared toward our current and upcoming payware products.

If other creators would like to make liveries for the aircraft, there’s nothing stopping them from doing it, but it’s not our primary focus.

Still in my opinion the top fighter in MSFS. Been flying IFR routes all over the US with it lately. AP in NAV mode is actually so intuitive once you learn what every button is for.

For anyone wondering what’s the best approach/landing speed, the top left small flight plan PFD actually has speed bugs you can check. 185 kts seems about right.

I have it on xbox, and it is fantastic. I don’t know much about the real plane, but when I was looking at the liveries I saw one is based in Alaska, the other Hawaii, and wondered if any other squadrons operated it, especially the aggressors.
I guess with the amount of livery packs coming out each week in the marketplace updates maybe some more will come.

Thanks for the ongoing support, looking forward to your future projects :+1:

We are working on some new liveries including additional squadrons for the next update to the payware F-22, which should come out sometime in mid to late summer. Some will be historical, some current, and at least one fictional. If you’re curious about current squadrons operating F-22s, you can check out this wiki link:

Hi, does the F-22 have a helmet mounted display? If so, how do i activate it?

No, The F-22 doesn’t have JHMCS system installed at this time. In real life or in our model.

I don’t see this thread updated often and that’s probably a good thing. I feel it’s helpful to be encouraging to make product better, but also to acknowledge when something was done well.

I really enjoy this F-22. Especially the flight model. I feel the flight model(to me) is the most important and fun aspect of flight sim and you guys did such a great job with it. And that was on release too. To my knowledge the only change you guys have done to the flight model was that minor adjustment on takeoff where it was pulling to the right(which you guys fixed last update).

If you were curious if there’s any thing I would suggest improving, the only thing I can think of is 2 things. The afterburners, and the breaking mach 1 sounds during and post mach 1.

And that’s it. I can list a buuunch of suggestions for just about every other aircraft I own, so do not take this post as complaining, it is praise. I can only say two things.

But what prompted me to re-visit this thread and sing some praises to the developer…I just did a landing with this thing and was doing a wheelie and these guys have incorporated just a tiny bit of puff smoke when that front wheel touches down…but they accounted for no smoke being produced if going slow enough(I wasn’t). This to me feels like great attention to detail. I cannot comment and say “going x speeds should or should not produce a puff of smoke”, but what I will say, is by going by “feel”, you guys seemed to guess that part accurate as heck too.

Good job guys.
