Im finding my 3 monitor setup near on impossible to line things up as when in settings menu it opens full screen on middle monitor so cant see what im lining the left and right monitors to, Ive tried guessing it but still not perfect…unless im doing something wrong, In MSFS 2020 the menu opened in a smaller window so you could line the cockpit up in 2024 it zooms out of the cockpit and you have to line up the scenery.
Interesting. I still haven’t even gotten the install to work and I started the download just a half hour after the opening bell. I will be trying to get multi-monitor to work once I’m successful, though. It was hard enough to line things up in 2020, so if this is worse I’m very disappointed.
UPDATE: I AM IN!!! It is loading now. The uninstall and reinstall worked and did not take as long as it did yesterday.
Fs2024 is impossible for me to play. As soon as I open another windows everything start to stutters/lag and it’s impossible to play. In 2020 dx11 mode I was able to 4k high quality graphic and I was getting around 30 35 fps. Now in 2024 even if I drop to 1080p minimum graphic it become so laggy. Got a 7800x3d with 4070ti super. So I should get something not too bad. Does I am the only one or do someone have some tips to help me because seriously going back to only one screen seriously pack the immersion of 3
Thanks
I got my 3 monitors going although it seems a bit of a pain now. Just putting left and right at 90 and -90 and the others at zero seemed to be very close. I can’t seem to add a decimal using the keyboard to get an absolutely perfect alignment. It does not appear that you can align while in the cockpit now. I had to go to various screens in the main menu to check alignment, plus the center screen background goes blurry when in settings making it tough.
I have my 3 monitors and a physical cockpit of a Cessna 172g 1000 completely made.
It takes a lot of effort to calibrate everything. Also, the instrument panel should be removed from the plane since it gets in the way and blocks the view.
I must be missing something. I don’t see any option in the menus for multi monitor support. Is this because I am on the game pass for pc version or am I just not seeing the option???
I’m also having the same problem in MSFS2024 where my right monitor with a 90 degree offset is at the wrong zoom level (looks “pinched” as mentioned in the post above) compared to the center and left monitors (which is at -90 offset).
BOSSTON - I also have the problem. I have navigated as you suggested and added both monitors. My issue is when the left and right monitors are added I cannot see the center monitor to make the alignment correct with the center monitor. Due to the opacity of the Settings General Tab. In 2020 the settings general tab was transparent and you could see the center monitors cockpit and visually adjust the left and right monitors. 2024 also takes you out of the cockpit when you select settings.
I found a horrible workaround for this… “Window 1” always seems to be the window with the incorrect zoom level (“pinched look”) with no obvious way to fix it. So, I created 3 total render windows under multi monitor and I am using “Window 2” and “Window 3” as my left and right monitors in “fullscreen” mode. “Window 1” I am leaving as a “windowed” mode render window that sits behind the fullscreen render windows so you can’t see it in-sim. This is probably destroying my frame rates having an extra render window, but it’s the only way to make my sim rig functional.
Let’s hope for a quick fix by the dev team or the community figures out a better way to fix/workaround the incorrect zoom level on “Window 1”.
The option is “multi window” and it should look like the attached screenshot. If it isn’t there for you, then maybe there is something different about the version you have?
Thanks. I was messing with this earlier but could only get it to mirror so I thought it wasn’t what I was looking for. I just noticed the drop down to change the settings to have the offset.
Was running FS 2020 fine on triples. Was 25+ FPS at least.
FS2024 is atrocious on triples - laggy and unplayable. Like 10 FPS in the middle of the ocean in a small plane. Also, trees flicker in and out in triples mode for some weird reason.
I tried really hard to like it but I ended up refunding for now. Triples are extremely important for some simmers like me.
I am having multiple issues with MSFS 2024. The most frustrating is MAFS 2020worked flawlessly with my three monitor setup. I was getting 28-30FPS AND ZERO lag on ultra settings. Now with MSFS2024 I am getting 5-6 FPS and incredible lag time! I still cannot adjust ly monitors so I can align each screen to each other. WHAT A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY. Hope MSFS Team allows local storage instead of this streaming ■■■■!
Alligning monitors in 2020 was very difficult. 2024 is virtually impossible. How do you take a difficult process and make it worse? Just let us see the sides of the center monitor, so we can see to align it with the others. 2020 had it. Forget to put it in N=2024? Trying to align is a long, frustrating, trial and error process. I give up when alignment is within about an inch, vertically. I don’t even try adjusting the other 2. I’d like to spend some time flying. I know it can be done better. 2020 did it much better, though not great. I expected improvement in 2024. My wildest nightmare didn’t envision going from difficult to impossible. Come on, This release is nowhere near ready.
