[UPDATE 2.0] FlyTampa - KLAS & Las Vegas

I Do see the changes in road texture though never personally bothered me but my sphere looks different to one pictured , there is no crane on mine, it does look suspiciously like the problem one isn’t the updated FT Vegas one installed as the FT one only lights up at night.

I assume you have got the latest FT updated vegas 2.20

Does anyone have this working with MSFS 2024, especially from the marketplace? It’s not showing up at all in the library for me. The issue is noted in FlyTampa’s forum here: Content in MSFS 2024 - FlyTampa

Not from the Marketplace. I’ve posted about that several times in several different threads about Marketplace content availability in FS2024. I finally gave in and bought it again, outside the Markeplace. It was on sale at Orbx for ~$15 USD.

The total package size on my drive is 5.35GB, which may be why it’s not available to stream in FS2024. Asobo/MS may be waiting to enable it until they implement the ability to download Marketplace content and store locally rather than streaming - this one may just be too big to stream.

It’s certainly not showing yet despite the notification through as you mentioned yesterday about all transfers from fs2020 being “completed” (someone is still working at M/S/Asobo during holidays it would seem!).
Maybe you are correct on it being a streaming/size issue or maybe it’s the city/strip scenery that’s holding it up. Strange how it doesn’t even show up as listed but ‘not available’ though.

I have quite a few of my other missing airports available now though (since yesterday) which is good. I’m just down to 3 airports(KLAS, LPPT, LFLL) and 1 heli (R22) missing now.

Just noticed that the Orbx sale is still on so I may just buy another copy of (drm free this time) KLAS.

It didn’t transfer and is not showing up for me either.

Wondering about MSFS2024 compatibility…is this being worked on? No ability to enable this add-on in MSFS2024, even after moving it from my /OneStore/Official/ folder in 2020 over to Community folder in 2024.

Yeah, I don’t even see it in my 2024 library, at all — even as a red-labeled unavailable.

FWIW, it does seem to work with 2024. Use KLAS and EHAM from FlyTampa all the time. Not sure why they don’t let Orbx publish for 2024.

You ought to see it show up in there as “disabled” if you copy the two files over. Marketplace purchases from 2020 show up in that OneStore folder I mentioned. But launch 2024 and you’ll see the add-on, with check boxes that can be checked, there’s just no ‘enable’ option that appears, as with other (semi-)compatible add-ons.

So here’s something I’ve been running into with regard to FlyTampa airports in FS’24 with the SU2 beta builds. Not sure what the story is here, but the root cause for me is something to do with KLAS.

I found this video on YouTube by chance a few days ago. The problem with the triangles is also described here. According to the video, simply renaming the Windows folders of KLAS probably helps.

Edit: I just saw in the Flytampa forum that the fix in the video obviously doesn’t work.

Yeah. There’s a fix on FS.to which specifically fixed KLAS (and adds a bunch of stuff for the GA area of that scenery). However, that fix does not universally correct the issue for other FlyTampa sceneries in FS’24 SU2 right now. If KLAS is installed, I see the same issues (different colors and intensities but same thing) at EHAM and KBOS. There was recently a Marketplace update for LGAV - the only other FT scenery I own. That appears to correct the issue for me there. But if I disable KLAS entirely, the problem goes away at other FT sceneries. But as soon as I reenable that scenery, the problem recurs at Boston and Amsterdam.

I dont see it in my library either in 24

Me either. It’ll be a year before what I actually bought can be actually flown…

See my post above, linking to another thread. Something about KLAS is currently quite busted in FS’24 for at least some people if you have more than one FT scenery installed with it. I suspect FlyTampa are going to have to issue an update or even a rebuilt FS’24-specific build of this entire package.

No updates yet on this, huh?

I wouldnt be surprised if fly Tampa has to rebuild KLAS from the ground up for mfs24. I always had issues with the glideslope on the 26s in mfs2020 version never being correct and bringing you in too low and short of the runway, and this was even after adjusting the scenery hierarchy in the package reorder tool per flytampa supports instructions.

Plus the sunken aircraft parking pad east of concourse D that was unusable due to the messed up slope to taxi down into it. I’ve been to KLAS a lot in real life and have never seen a sunken parking pad there, but per flytampas replies to my emails asking why it’s sunk with a ■■■■■■ taxiway ramp that’s uneven down into this area which makes it unusable in the sim, they say that’s how it is in real life. I disagree with them completely. This parking pad is not sunk in real life and is the same elevation as the terminal and taxiways.

If it is at a lower elevation in real life, then it has a normal taxiway down into it, which flytampas unable to get right or make look right.

There’s also the issue with the urban area just east of the airport when approaching runway 26 where just before you overfly the area on a 2 mile final, the photogrammetry buildings all disappear, flatten out and then reinflate to normal appearance every time.

I’d say this needs a full rework for mfs24

For anyone using FT KLAS in Msf2024 and having problems try the following:

Make sure Asobo Vegas strip is disabled (given FT KLAS has a strip included and Asobo strip could conflict with the airport.

I have done this and also have FT KBOS on 2024 and don’t have an issues! When I first did it, I did have these blue triangles everywhere but it was when I made sure the Vegas strip scenery was disabled given FT comes with it, it seemed to fix things!

(I still have surrounding area photogamatry enabled and have not had any issues! Hope this brings some resolutions for people while we wait for a native 2024 version!
