A number of recent posts in this topic have been removed for being Off-Topic.
Please keep your comments constructive and helpful to other users who may be loading the sim today and are experiencing this issue.
This thread is not the place for criticising the developer or complaining that it hasn’t been fixed yet, there are plenty of other topics with that theme on the forum.
Thank you for your understanding,

Yep! As much as I didn’t like losing my Community folder the only thing I can do is to limit the impact of this type of event in the future.
So I have decided to install and use Add-on linker. Another option is to use alternative folder when you buy add-ons from stores like Orbx.
Try to control what you can not Asobo🤘🏾
Happy flying
Holy moly - I logged in and 13 comments in a row flagged by the community? Jeez people, take some breaths, please. I was as annoyed as anyone yesterday when I was reinstalling FS2024 TWICE and FS2020 entirely from scratch (which alone took 7 hours). But it didn’t occur to me to get mad and fight with others facing the same issues.
Please - as hard as it is - try to be constructive with your comments and show a little grace to people who disagree. I find the latter quite difficult myself and have to remind myself it’s easier to scroll by than type out a reply.
Anyway, my test load into FS2024 this morning went fine - no third reinstall necessary! And I made a trouble-free 7 hour flight in FS2020 today as well. I wish I’d been able to fly yesterday but that’s water under the bridge now.
Didn’t Jorg say several times in dev streams that, after the failed 2024 release, lesson learned was to not release anything without proper testing again?
And in the interview with Ubaid (here) he repeteadly says that testing is very very important, much more important than to rush things.
Something isn’t working correctly, from an organisational pov, at least that’s what it seems, because this isn’t rushed (it’s not like we’re seeing an update each week, actually we’re more than four months after release and all the main bugs are all still there), and even then, things aren’t properly tested.
Heck… just reading that interview gets to my nerve:
we had to ensure that purchases from MSFS 2020 carried over seamlessly
That isn’t going well. At all.
Well… getting back to business, I wasn’t in the beta and can confirm that actually the time where I fired up 2024 was AFTER this update came around, and I had no download nor anything (I was sure I triggered 2024 just before the issue, but checking local times and UTC times, looks it was just after, not before).
I was sure I saw a couple of posts that mentioned that they weren’t in the beta. Might have been me that I misread that, or people that opted out from the beta just before the update but still got it. So I stand corrected, so far looks like it only affects people in the beta.
That’s a good step - mine is still in the default location, but as I use Addons Linker, the only content lost were a handful of Navigraph items that take seconds at most to reinstall. No big loss.
Hey Folks, we regret that this topic is temporarily closed because people are repeatedly breaking the Code of Conduct, this topic will open again in 2 hours.
Moderators have posted multiple reminders about staying On-Topic, please keep your posts On-Topic and Constructive.
This topic is about reporting whether the issue is ongoing or fixed, and helping others who are affected by it. It is not for ranting about the developers, there are plenty of other topics for that such as:
Has it been nailed down as to who was affected and why? I’m confused. I thought it was beta at first so I signed out at the first reports. Then someone said it was everyone - but that everyone isn’t me.
I’m catching up on all of the information and reports sent having just returned to office after this update was deployed.
The reports in this thread have been escalated over the weekend for investigation with the highest priority.
Whilst I’m sorry that I can’t provide a further update at this exact second, know that as soon as further information that we can share is made available we will respond in this thread.
The forums are staffed by volunteers 24/7. We’ve still got to wait some hours before the employed workers return to their offices after the weekend break.
