Use DLSS Swapper to Update to 3.8.10+ for Sharp Glass Screens

Figured I’d make a separate thread given 2024 is shipping with a very old DLSS version. There is an app called DLSS Swapper that allows you to easily change the DLSS version per game installed.

MSFS 2024 is shipping with a very old 2.* DLSS version. Glass screens in MSFS with DLSS 3.8.10 look like TAA! Not sure if there are any other tradeoffs but the screens no longer look like they are coated in Vaseline.

Care to share screenshots of before-after?

■■■■ I’m downloading that so fast if that’s true

Don’t need the app btw, you can download DLSS files directly and drop them into the game files

I tried it and VOR, RAD and DIS on the G530 looks clearer.
That’s a win

This video starts with DLSS comparison.

Be aware, just as in MS 2020 with every update / hotfix the old original DLSS file is installed. So you need to swap everytime the game got an update.

Ok I can also confirm that the DLSS updated file does help immensely. I was wondering what the hell was wrong with 2024 compared to 2020 but forgot I also replaced that file.

Coincidentally I also changed my Quest 3 to 90 Hz and things feel really smooth now. Not using any tools/utilities for VR as well. Thanks a ton

Edit:
So the DLSS is better for sure but still not quite enough to read the MFD easily in the G1000 172. I feel like I’m restarting my VR tuning adventure that took me hours and hours in 2020 lol

Well, I don’t know… I tried again but I can’t see any difference in the glass screen. I posted screenshots in another thread.
Currently I reached a compromise with DLSS Ultra Quality and frame generation with OptiScaler to get decent framerates and quality.

How do you get the Ultra Quality preset?

Why why why did they ship with 2 yr old dlss driver? V3.8.1 make s abig difference to quality as well as frame rate, both flat screen and vr for me, plus my system is more stable now, a fwe less CTD’s during missions

It’s just one of the graphics settings:

I’m guessing maybe only by default for RTX40xx? It doesn’t show up for me on myRTX3090 after using the DLSS swapper.
Found this post though:

@MrFuzzy1337 do you see a big difference between Quality and Ultra quality?

Well, I have the RTX 4080 … but unless I’m blind I didn’t saw it previously. Will check later.

DLSS quality is still a bit blurry. No issue for DLAA though.

I will be switching from TAA to DLSS DLAA - as DLSS has better image reconstruction (AI).

Nope… Ultra Quality is not in my game available?!
RTX 4080.

It is if you look

You don’t have Frame Generation slider. Which GPU do you have and do you perhaps use a third party injector?

I’'m not blind.
