Very Confused about 2020 and 2024 support and wishes

1. The Forum banner for Support has been changed to 2024. In the most recent Development Update the Bug and Wishlist show “2024” implying there are no 2020 items. How can I access the Support forum, Bug list, and Wishlist for 2020? (Assuming they exist.)

2. The 2024 Development Update shows Marketplace Items new and updates for 2020. Shouldn’t 2020 items be moved to a separate 2020 update? Where are the Marketplace items and updates for 2024? That is, on what date will the Marketplace items be synchronized between 2020 and 2024?

3. Will any new bug fixes for bugs found in 2020 be ported to 2024? And bug fixes for bugs found in 2024 be ported to 2020? What about Wishlist items?

4. The Development Update stated “There will, of course, be many more updates coming in the future, including both Sim Update 1 and World Update 19: Brazil, Guyana, French Guiana, and Suriname which are both targeted for release in early 2025!” Sim Update 1 was released for 2020 years ago so this Sim Update 1 is for 2024. Is there a corresponding update for 2020? Is World Update 19 being released (in 2025) for both 2020 and 2024?

5. Clearly, Development focus is on 2024. However, there are 2020 users who haven’t moved to 2024 for various reasons. There should be announcements if the 2020 Updates, Bug list, and Wishlist have been discontinued.

6. Also, in the Development Updates, move the specific 2020 information like Marketplace items and Backlog to specific 2020 Development Updates. Is there any reason to publish these items for 2024 users? That is, give specific information to the specific group of users. As a 2020 user, I am not interested if there are server problems with 2024 or problems with Career mode have been fixed.

7. I appreciate having two tags, msfs-2020 and msfs-2024, for forum topics. How about a tag for msfs-both? A tag for msfs-none?

Based on how they present themselves currently I would rather assume that 2024 bugs will be ported to 2020

  The are no separate forums for 2020 & 2024. Both versions use this forum. Topics can be tagged by msfs-2020 , msfs-2024 or msfs-2020 msfs-2024 if the topic is applicable to both versions.

  That would be a call made by the Community Managers.

  I expect the reason the 2024 Marketplace was not included in the latest Development Update is that the Marketplace for 2024 is closed until next year.

  That would be decided on a case-by-case basis by the development teams involved.

  The next Sim Update for MSFS 2020 is #16. (see here) If I recall correctly, it is now due in early 2025.

  My understanding is that it will released for both versions, but I’m not sure if it will be released on the same date, as no specific date has been published for either version.

  As mentioned, Bugs & Wishes specific to 2020 can still be made in Bug Reporting Hub and Official Microsoft Flight Simulator > Wishlist - just remember to use the msfs-2020 tag. I have not heard of any mention of 2020 Updates being discontinued.

  That is a fair comment. Let’s see how the Development Updates look in 2025. I’m unaware of any changes, but that does not mean the Community Managers are not planning any!!
