With the intention of upgrading my GPU I wound up doing the entire PC. It took me a week to complete, and today was my first opportunity to try out MSFS2020 on the new rig, and the upgrade was totally worth it. I now have an RTX3080 ti and the visuals are amazing. I can now set render scale to 200 in VR and maintain silky smooth frame rates.
I flew from Henderson Nevada to Monument Valley VFR and it was gorgeous! Can’t wait for my next flight.
We finished the final leg of our Cessna 152 Great Lakes tour Toronto city to Kingston Canada going to do some random flying before the trip starting around the Appalachian trail in the Cessna 172 g1000 on floats so the plan is to start on the international Appalachian trail in Canada when I start
I have 2070s. 750W PSU, 32GB RAM, 500GB NVme and can run the game with ultra settings without issues. Maybe it has less to do with the game and more to do with something in your system? I just don’t think Asobo will be able to help you here.
Continued testing the Bell 47 as I mucked up and had not updated it - again. Worked like a dream, but I’m realizing I have not patience for it past 20 or 30 miles (age 65). This was a 70-mile flight from EHOW to EHLE, in the late afternoon. It is a handful.
But I could not find the Tappy East Creek where legends say that the bony hand of the witch is grabbing hikers and fishermen, and Coffin Rock is not in the landmark list.
I continued on my world tour, heading north passing the United States east coast. Today I’ll be flying the Aerosoft CRJ 700 from Miami KMIA to Jacksonville KBNA and then the PMDG DC-6 from KBNA into Chicago KORD.
I’m flexible with the route but it always gives me great pointers to new horizons. It can be downloaded from here World Tour - Flight Simulator Virtual Airline if case you’re interested. Most legs are some 60 to 90 minutes flights for a “Boeing 737 type” of aircraft which for me is usually just about right to keep it a hobby.
Congrats no time to site see makes you a simmer and not a gamer LOL
As for what I did today, Well windows tells me hdr compatible for my monitor, the game tells me hdr compatible, but when I turned HDR in windows it would always scramble the screen.
So got off my lazy but this morning and did some research. It turns out that HDR will not work correctly unless your connect to hdmi ports on monitor and graphics card. I know my hdmi to the monitor was connected through a DP to HDMI adapter. So I shut off the monitor, and used my one and only HDMI port on my graphics card (5 DP ports and only 1 HDMI port) and hooked it up with the gold plated hdmi cable.
Turned display back on, click on enable HDR in windows waiting for the out of sync screen and voila no scrunched up screen. Fired the Nvidia control center and made a couple of changes, and discovered that the res i was using that only let me have 30mz refresh was now letting me have 60mz refresh. Woohoo I might just be on to something here.
Fired up the game, loaded up a flight in Arizona and all I can say it OMG, who switched my game with a better one. LOL:
