KBID to KSFZ Visual RWY5 NXi dropped me off perfectly at the 4NM mark.
Not too bad! 31kts, not a perfectly smooth landing but ok, no rain - managed to get a break in the weather system there, thin strip of clear sky with thick clouds either side.
Got lucky!
Overnight stay in EIKN and then back to BIKF tomorrow.
Some posts were removed from this topic. A reminder about posting events from history that would be objectionable to others. Let’s focus more on MSFS and humanity’s future rather than wars of the past.
Thank you!
Curving approach via PSP into Palm Springs International. Quite the hazy day until you broke out around 4000’.
Trying to cover every USA state’s cities that have photogrammetry, I have now completed my 18th state, Pennsylvania.
Pittsburgh was quite fun. The first video I flew over a detailed water park where you could see huge slides, and the end of that video I flew over an amusement park that had roller coasters and in between, Universities and other stuff.
Part 4 was probably my favorite though. I love the fact that I did two cool things, but I hate the fact I boofed on what should have been the easiest of the 3 to accomplish. Regardless, I loved learning about Pittsburgh, seeing the elevation changes, learning who is from there, the disparity in population from them and Philadelphia.
On to Ohio…
This sim is just SO MUCH FUN!!
I’m not even a Steelers fan but this was still such a quick fun thing to do that even I, a Broncos fan, really enjoyed. This time I landed successfully.
Flew our updated Spitfire at Dover. Tried using Flight Control Replay for some flight formation footage -
After sitting out Storm Barra over Ireland / UK for one night at my last arrival at EIKN, now cleared to leave.
Today I had planned to fly PAX back to Iceland / BIKS, but in a fictitious twist, because my company is fairly comfortable flying in very cold areas of the world, it has won a temporary contract to cargo haul essential supplies to Rothera Research Station in Antarctica.
My nearest base is BIKF Iceland, so the plan is to fly the CRJ 1000 south from Ireland, all the way to Ushuaia Airport in Argentina, establish a temporary base there and then purchase a suitable aircraft for the Antarctic operation.
To get there, I have approx 7,000nm to cross in the CRJ, so the first of this leg is to fly to Tenerife (GCTS). 1,600nm.
Currently en route, estimated air time is 3:49.
I just purchased Aerosofts Antarctica Volume 1 - so I thought this was a good way to use it for fun (in Air Hauler 2).
Gothenborg Sweden (ESGG) to Split Croatia (LDSP) - 927 NM 3:31:00 at FL200.
Talk about a maximum range flight - dusted off the Vertigo and landed with Low Fuel lights illuminated for the last 15 minutes. It wasn’t that close - I still had 14 gals. aboard, but your heart gets pumping a little when the caution lights come on. The 35+ kts headwinds all the way down did not help.
Landed Tenerife South Airport (GCTS), just a shade under 2,000nm - almost 5 hours air time (realtime).
Parked on the ramp with 59lbs of fuel left, not great… will be sure not to make that mistake again!
Tonight after work I made my first flight and my first landing in the new SC Designs F-16 Fighting Falcon. Please note: these were not the same flight, lol. The weather in Hawaii is nutty this week and the westerly runways were in use. NOT the usual there, based on my flying in the last few months, so between the weather, the always-busy live MP traffic and my unfamiliarity with the plane, I stuffed up the first landing (video was trimmed to protect the guilty!) but I later made a better approach and landing. Those misplaced trees on the sandbar there off the end of 26L threw me off but I still landed without destroying the plane, so I’ll take it.
Time to leave Tenerife / GCTS (nice place, been there often!) and onward south to GVAC / Amílcar Cabral International Aiport, Cape Verde.
Leaving Tenerife Airport South…
I have never been to Cape Verde before, so looking forward to it.
Landed at GVAC, just under 3 hours…
Today I discovered Whidbey Island Naval Air Station, home to some very cool folks, and just a hop across the water from where I live. I also had to check out this container ship going in reverse to Seattle.
Chicago Midway RNAV-X 22L under a low-hanging cloudbase. Man it was hopping, I was sequenced between three tubeliners and a GA jet. Lauched out of Block Island - landed in Chicago with 10 gals remaining.
Was messing around in the Texan trying to collect as many aircraft in a traffic holding pattern as possible we got up to 6 before running out of fuel will try again at LAX to see how many ai I could get to go around
Lets see got the new PS installed, net seems better today, rolled back nvidia drivers to original 4.57.31 drivers started to load the game and saw that us lowly steam users could join the beta, so I killed the current version that was loading and grabbed the beta. Weather was pretty good and close for today’s weather, and those ‘way to low clouds seem to be gone’ :
