What did you do in MSFS today? (Part 1)

With that polished floor you can pretty much slide the helicopter into the hangar.

A short test flight with my CRJ.
The elephant in the room was the low resolution of some of the displays that´s why I have set the virtual cockpit overall resolution to 2048x2048, and now the gauges are clear as glass - like it should be in a glass cockpit.
This was a short testflight to test new cockpit instruments.

Because I could actually read the turbine indicators for the first time even while zoomed back to have a maxed-out viewcone like I always fly, I have noticed how absolutely awesome realistic the CRJ is!
Simple jets always have exactly the N1 rotation that is set on the thrust lever. But the CRJ simulates windmilling which means at high airspeeds N1 in idle position is at 40% until the airspeed gets down because the oncoming airstream is driving the N1 fan. (While standing still on the ground the turbines idle with only ~20% N1 rotation speed.)
Because the CRJ is the only study-level airliner and we have to wait for the PMDG 737 for at least 18 months, it is really good to have such a sophisticated and realistic simulated CRJ airliner

Looks like I have chosen the wrong airport to land. It´s a strip of mud with monkeys playing on both sides. But because it is only a testflight to have a look at the instruments I decided to land anyway. After overshooting the runway for about a mile or so even with full thrust reversers…

I drove the plane back to the runway through the desert to make it look like a PERFECT landing for the cameras!

I love how the CRJ is taking off. After rotating she hoovers about 2 meters in the air for some time and hoovers along the runway until gaining more airspeed and AOA before becoming fully airborne after 3-5 seconds. That is perfectly realistic!

:+1: :grin::grin:I hovered the HPG 145 into the hangar. Took care of the floor

Took the Quest Kodiak from TUPJ Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport in the British Virgin Islands down to TRPG John A. Osborne Airport in Montserrat to deliver vital humanitarian aid (Pepsi Max), to survey the mud and to deliver two British Virgin Islanders to the Volcano islands for undisclosed reasons.

We flew over Princess Juliana to watch other players fly in and out and to watch the AI fail to land and go-around. Fun times.

Then flew past the Dutch Special Municipality of Sint Eustatius and had a quick look at F. D. Roosevelt Airport.

Flew past St Kitts and Nevis and then on towards Montsserat, passing by the Kingdom of Redonda

Then onto Montserrat itself! Here’s the mud and lava covered capital:

And some more volcanic mud:

Mud survey completed we came in to land and I was a bit distracted by this cloud and also some turbulant air around the airport so came in a bit rough but it all ended well.

Parked up and ready to deliver the goods!

Tearing around in the subsonex JSX 2 playing in the sky in the same area that’s got a winter weather advisory

I love the CRJ, too. It’s the first jet I’ve flown in any sim (I’m an instrument-rated pilot in real life). What I like about it is that without an autothrottle you have to be a participant in flying the airplane at all times. In other transport-category jets you just set the speed, altitude, VS, whatever, and it does all the work for you. With the CRJ you have to manage the throttle the whole time. Awesome airplane.

This is from my most recent flight, TTPP-TAPA, Trinidad to Antigua.

Flew from Milan to Nice. Had engine issues on take off due to heavy ice. Burned too much fuel.

Ran out of fuel right after landing, all the systems shut down but we managed to coast on empty to get off the runway…

Flew from Zurich Kloten (LSZH) to Vienna (LOWW) in the gorgeous DC-6 over the beautiful Austrian Alps:

Enjoying all the knobs and dials here

Just over the Alps I encountered some “bumpy weather” - of course I made sure that lunch was being served in the cabin just before entering the clouds

“Dear ladies and gentlemen, this is the captain speaking. We apologise very much for having to announce that alcohol service on board will be terminated with immediate effect. Already purchased alcoholic drinks must be returned to the cabin crew, which will now go through the cabin and collect the alcoholic liquids in plastic bottles. Unfortunately we just ran out of fuel and now need every drop of burnable liquid in order to make it barely to our destination airport. We thank you for your understanding and you’ll be sure to get two for one on your next flight!”

I flew the 747-8 (Asobo Version) from Miami to Mexico City. I looked up the callsign for Pan-Am, feeling a bit nostalgic for the old airline. It would be nice if we could get the livery at some point! Quick update since landing. I have the Mexico City Airport add-on from FlyMex. I think this impacted my approach to the runway. I could not engage either the LOC or Approach mode, as the dots/diamonds never appeared to cue those modes. I had to make a quick dive for the runway from 10,000 feet. I was able to get the plane to stop near the end of the runway and then find my gate for parking. I have removed the mod from my system until I can figure out if it was the problem or not.

Just casually exploring New York…
