What did you do in MSFS today? (Part 1)

I’m on the Xbox version, so those mods aren’t available to me. Thanks!

If you did that in real life your next job would be waiting tables :joy:

Delivering groceries to remote northern communities.

Checking out the magnificent castles of… Kansas? I was randomly within a mile of this last year on a storm chase. Wish I had known about it then.

Well, not today but yesterday afternoon. Live weather in the sim was pretty awesome visually, though I don’t know how realistic it is to show all of New York Harbor completely frozen over.

I flew from Christchurch NZCH to Westport NZWS using live weather. I had hoped to sneak through the Southern Alps using Arthur’s Pass VFR but no chance. Planned to turn north at Greymouth but changed that using the Nxi Direct To function in flight. ATC cleared me to PILUP at a low altitude. Digressed to avoid the high ground and managed to descend to capture the RNAV glide path. A quick look to the left gave me a brief glance at the Denniston Incline, an old coal mine with a history. Taxied safely in. The wet West Coast was dry and faced the sandfly population..

What mod is this? I’ve seen a number of posts with fireworks and it’s got me curious.

It’s a freeware addon called WeLoveVFR Fireworks. It’s available on Flightsim.to.

Went to Burning Man, with a flight out of Black Rock City Airport. It’s on my bucket list to fly in there for real, along with the Fisk approach into AirVenture.

Couple notes:

  • I tried the Black Rock scenery on flightsim.to. It was neat to see the art installations, but the scenery obliterates the aerial imagery in the area including the runways and Black Rock City layout, so I actually switched back to the default.
  • I was going to grab some screenshots of nearby Fly Geyser, but I used the wrong pause, my plane stalled and subsequently crashed after I returned from Active Pause. Whoops. The geyser itself is really small, and the surrounding aerial imagery isn’t the best, so kind of an underwhelming POI to be honest.
  • Hands and feet of pilot still sticking out of this T-6 model despite the 4gb update to to the Reno/T-6 class lol.
