What did you do in MSFS today? (Part 1)

Another southward leg done in my African tour, this time from Reggane (DAAN) to Bordj Mokhtar (DATM). This flight was what one would except from a desert: long stretches of more-of-the-same, so I decided to check how my trusty steed handles FL300. The ascent went smooth and had quite the panorama from there:

The descent was quite strange, for about every half a minute the air brakes were opened without me doing so. I wonder if it was some real automatism that tried to avoid overspeed or if it is something by the sim.

Loaded the Nellis mod (which was again updated after this flight) and flew from the Miramar mod in the F-15C. A change from the H145. Mixed feelings about that as scenery whizzed by so quickly. Reward was the hard creator work along the way. Realized I never bought the Vegas scenery, so I did after. Will have to do some flying about there soon.

At 11 pm local time, I decided I wanted to see if Chicago dyed their river for St. Patricks Day 2022 in this game, so I left Dublin and arrived in Chicago, diverted from the approach, down the river, all the way, took some amazing screenshots, amazing stuff,

but, no Green River, so I decided to head back to Dublin for the remainder of St. Patricks Day.
However, I landed first in Chicago (ORD), first time I went to Chicago in this game too.

This should’ve been a return trip but the game kept kicking me on my flight back to Dublin (DUB) so I got my small private jet stuck out there for the remainder of St. Patrick’s Day.

I didn’t want to take my 747, so, range went out the window *again in the name of fun.

Took the newly-updated Twin Otter around Ohau on a beautiful afternoon.

Flew the twin otter for my airline idea, Rochester Connection from Rochester to Syracuse International with a Caribbean style stop in Williamson Sodus both ways, had more Route ideas though

I flew my private 747 from Dublin (DUB) back to London (LCY) but I never made it. Missed the approach, published it, took over to do a u’ie when I went so far out, I crashed 30 miles away after being where I knew to be somewhere in England I didn’t, and I had so much fun yesterday flying up from Eugene to get it from Boeing and taking it to Dublin, it sucks today it sucked.
I crashed… Grrr… Before my crash though, I saw Victoria (in London, that one)… for the first time ever, That was worth screenshotting a few times. Right now, in my mind, my 747’s in the shop being repaired, and my good ol’ fun jet’s stuck in my part of NJ, but that’s okay, but, I really wanted to take it back to my local with my 747.

My small jet that got itself stuck in Chicago (ORD) after failing to return back to Dublin (DUB), so I took it to Tijuana (TIJ) from Chicago (ORD) because I wanted to see Tijuana; before checking out New Jersey and this airport I noticed there the night before.
I took off at night from Chicago (ORD), skipped ahead, saw beautiful skies and a nice moon and sunset in Tijuana last night, that was cool, landed in Tijuana (TIJ) 'parked up…

Then I took off to New Jersey, Tom’s River KMJX from Tijuana (TIJ) soon after, saw the sun setting, got to Tom’s River, where it was night again (like it was in Chicago (ORD), everything’s so dark there at night over Ocean County, New Jersey until you get into Tom’s River and Seaside Park and Seaside Heights. I saw Forked River somewhere too, then I saw another airport 3 miles away but closer to where I knew even though I was close enough as is, I just had to check out this other airport.. It took me the better part of an hour to fly to from there, with all the circling… Turns out that was a water runway, a seaplane base… I first thought I missed the runway, but, that was more on my doorstep I saw my back door (behind where I know) sitting in the water there… That was cool and screenshots all around…
But, I tried to take off and it turns out I didn’t miss the runway, it was just made out of the water as Flight Sim’ said ‘nope’.
… That also explains why ‘Landing Gear’ wouldn’t shut up either.

I tried to fly it back to LCY last night to bring it home, take it home from there with my small fun jet, and… The game teased me letting me take off and fly in heavy traffic out of Tom’s River KMJX… But, kept kicking me again so I never made it, so, that aeroplane’s still in Tom’s River, which is okay as I have ties to the area, so in the game, I’m there tonight because I couldn’t fly back to London, going to try again when I next get back on then think about doing.
Small private jet was
LCY - NXX - EUG - BFI
My private 747
BFI - DUB
DUB - *crash into Dublin sight seeing (twice)
Small private jet came back out again for
DUB - MME - DUB

Got back on with small private jet, went
DUB - ORD and wanted to go back ot Dublin in it but game kicked me a bunch of times.

747 was in DUB which hadn’t been to my homebase because I just got it back at BFI that day before DUB, it went DUB - LCY the long/I’m going to play guitar while AI does this way…
Only AI missed the airport, and crashed.

So I was back in ORD in a small private jet.
I went ORD - TIJ, caught the sunset in Tijuana, was nice, great skies.
First time in TIJ/Tijuana

Wanted to check out that airport I noticed in New Jersey when I flew into NXX, I went there, it’s KMJX, got there at night but everything was so dark. Landed.
I found 16NJ 3 miles away which was closer to where I knew even though I was pretty darn close there at Tom’s River… I flew it the long way/no skipping… Took almost an hour of circling and ATC and stuff… Turns out it’s a Seaplane Runway 16NJ… But as I sat in the water, I saw my backdoor/behind where I know, and, that was screenshot worthy enough; Tried to take off from there, the game said ‘nope’ Wrong type of aeroplane…
So back at Tom’s River/KMJX, I took off back to wrap things up for LCY and to back last night after setting out and taking off from it the night before…
Game booted me, said ‘no’… So…
I’m still in KMJX in this game, and that’s okay because, I have ties to the area, so I’m fine with that, it just means I never made it back to LCY… I got off the ground, got into air traffic, got it to cruise, skipped ahead, booted me (back to NJ)…

So my plan is to fly out there this morning and be back in London this afternoon, with Flight Sim, shouldn’t take long.

Tijuana was nice.

It sucks my mapping tool can’t find KMBJ or 16NJ, or I’d be posting that one too.

Lately I have been low and slow sightseeing around my neighborhood while delivering pax and cargo.
Sunset of a nice day! Entering downwind…

Showing off the hand flown pattern. Little early on my initial circle to enter downwind, and a little late for base because I had extra speed to bleed. But still I can see huge improvements in my flying. Feels great!

Cool tower at KIXD(the very airport I flew to during my RL introduction flight!!)

Took the R44 through the new Cairns City Scenery by Nethiuz.
Started off at the heliport circled the city south then headed east past the airport hugging the Barron River toward the Forge above. Followed the Skyrail Rainforest Cableways then back to the night lit city.
One of the most gorgeous sceneries I’ve experienced thus far!

Before my Twotter had propeller issues I thought i would check out new areas of the globe ive never flew in. I had purchased this cute looking little Airport in Iran by Homasim in Ahvaz.

Had a nice little fly about and plan to do a bit more. The weather was beautiful and the the airport is great for 7 quid odd!

I finally made it back from KMJX.
I took off this morning from an overcast New Jersey, the airport there looks different in daylight, they should really consider more lightening there…
Took off this morning, got back to London (LCY) concluding that adventure…

I was free for my next adventure.

In my mind, I picked up friends and pets at LCY, took them all to the private Island in Tahiti, which is actually one of the small ones off Bora Bora…
LCY - BOB
Before going to my LA mansion… and check in with California… for a first time landing there…
I flew into Burbank.
BOB - BUR
(My name’s Bobby Burrows, my jet call sign has my name, this was novel to me)… However, I would have went into Burbank whatever its IATA was.

I’m now in LA with my friends/pets in this game. Perhaps I went off to try and find an open bar in West Hollywood, or maybe all I could find was a strip club, either way, I’m there for the air con’ and the Monster Engery Drink & Courvoisiers… If I can’t find anything that doesn’t open until 10 am, that’s fine, I soberebed up in New Jersey from St. Patrick’s Day and Tijuana yesterday, got back into London, went to Bora Bora and now it’ll be 5 pm in London when the bar opens.

I liked Bora Bora this morning, it was still night, but, that was okay, the only thing that ruined it was turning on my jet engine because the noise of the waves and the beach were beautiful and loved hearing it, until I started my engine.

Let’s just say, in my fantasy, I’ve got this place in Thornton Heath, Surrey, and, a flat in Mayfair, and a holiday home in Springfield, OR, an airline out of Eugene (EUG) ‘Air Oregon’, a motel in Springfield, OR, a mansion in Los Angeles in the hills somewhere, and I still have family in PA and NJ and Australalia and, I have another business on the ground (a coffee shop) in Amsterdam.
An island in Tahiti and a Greek island.

And I fly around with friends and pets.

I also would like to go on to Silicone Valley for a meeting or go wine tasting in Napa Valley, later today, being in California and all, today.
Or I might just go back to Oregon, I haven’t decided yet.
I’m also in Los Angeles doing guitar stuff hence me hanging around West Hollywood in the morning instead of being in my LA Mansion…

This game is deep.

I did two flights in the A320neo this morning. First was Mexico City to San Antonio. It was a fantastic flight until the ATC didn’t want to talk to me when I was on the ground looking for gate instructions. That’s just the way ATC is sometimes! The second flight from Los Angeles to Las Vegas had its share of problems. Two CTDs as I loaded into the plane at the gate. Third time lucky, and we were on our way. As I was just under one hundred feet above the runway, just getting ready to land, all my screens went dark on the flight deck. I landed anyway, and this time ATC was able to tell me which gate to go to. Guess they felt terrible about the earlier flight.

These AC groups are quite cool, though arrester cables would be nice. Left Soryu for a few turns and then made several landing attempts on Akagi. What a challenge, even at stall speed. Otanoshimini!

Yesterday flew from Amman, Jordan to look for the ruins of Petra. Not there. Crossed the Dead Sea to Jerusalem. That’s a disappointment. Nothing there as far as historical points of interest. A lot of buildings have markers but those are either office or residential buildings. Was I over the wrong part of the city? According to my maps, I should have seen the Western Wall on crossing the sea.
