Look at all those gauges and sheet metal. Looks like a lot of fun!

Took the Goose around San Francisco this afternoon, then landed in the Bay and taxied over to Alcatraz. Tried to stage a jailbreak but Clint Eastwood apparently already escaped in the 70’s, and in the intervening decades, the buildings have all melted.

Speaking of, does anyone know if there’s a good Alcatraz Island scenery mod that has better-textured models and landscape?

After dinner last night in Bologna, I wanted to spend the night in Venice, so I booked a hotel, had my private jet come pick me up in Bologna and fly me to Venice.

Bologna (BLQ)/LIPE - Venice (VCE)/LIPZ in my private jet last night.
Really wasn’t a long flight, no skipping ahead required.

“Welcome to Venice.”

Then I took my new seaplane UK reg: G-WTBY from the airport to the hotel. I had a room at the Palazzo Pisani Moretta last night.

I’m not gonna lie, I made the same sort of landing I did in Whitby, North Yorkshire yesterday, but, that’s okay, I was there, I wasn’t hurt, and I didn’t even get wet (again)… I was fine…

Checked into the Palazzo Pisani Moretta, went to my room, went to bed, spent the night in Venice, where I am in this game right now.

Today, my plan is to go to Milan, do some shopping, and then head down to Rome and see Rome.

I flew the Beechcraft D-17 from Raleigh-Durham to Willmington. It took a while to get the plane to settle down, although it seemed to want to climb or descend with no real input from me. I was flying VOR to VOR, with the only VOR point that I was concerned about was ILM near the airport. Unfortunately, I was never able to pick up the VOR transmission during the flight, and the navigation dial in the flight deck never seemed to align with the correct heading. It’s a great plane, though, and I will be flying it more soon.

That reminds me, I do want to check out New Castle ILG, in a big enough commercial jet, see how New Castle, DE goes for my airline routes.

Watched the game updating itself painfully sloooooow. By the time it finished I had to leave for work :unamused:

I decided to focus on the Jack of all Planes achievement and fly the Icon A5 for 300 miles. I was running short on time so I had to speed things up. Solution? Custom weather with a 150kt tail wind! That was an adventure I recommend you try

Really dark night approach into KMVY. I was just about 300’ when I finally broke out the approach lights. Good IFR hop as I briefed the approach and refreshed ILS procedures.

Hello everyone! Last night I did my third bush trip on the sim but that one has to be the best bush trip in the whole game. I’m talking about the new Pyrenees Excursion bush trip. It was GORGEOUS! I highly recommend it.

I do have ONE COMPLAINT, though. I was so looking forward to the trip that I did a bit of research before I took off. As I was searching the web, I came across pictures of a national park located in the area called Ordesa National Park. I was left in complete awe. The park looks amazing frankly, and it seemed to be located right next to one of the POIs on the Navigator (Monte Perdido, I think). I couldn’t wait to get to that area and explore it. After all, the park seems to have been the first national park to be declared as such in Spain back in 1918, it receives nearly 1 million visitors every year, and as you can see in the pictures below it’s just totally gorgeous, so imagine my surprise when I got there and all I saw was these melting hills and cliffs that looked like total ■■■■ (forgive my language). Frankly this truly was a missed opportunity. The park’s shape seems to be ideal for low-altitude flights. I mean, just imagine flying through that canyon with your Cub Crafter X Cub?? We got Yosemite with the US update so I don’t understand why they didn’t bother to include this park in the Iberia update. Total shot in the dark, but if any moders out there want to try their hand at recreating this special corner of the Pyrenees, I’m sure this community will be very grateful (I know I will :))

So I had a wonderful day in Venice yesterday, decided to wait until the store closed before doing some out-of-hours shopping in Milan as a personal guest of Gorgio Armani just after store closed at 7:30 pm. I set off in my private jet, Venice was so wonderful, I decided to stick around Venice that day, took a gondola to a limo which took me back to the airport where my private jet was ready and waiting for me for a sunset take off.
Venice (VCE) LIPZ - Milan (MXP) LIMC

“Ciao for now Venice! It’s been real!”

Got into Milan… First time in Milan, and Gorgio Armani’s shop was over 20 miles away, which took forever in my Velocityraptor-helicopter-thing.

and when I got there, I was 5, 000ft up in the stupid air! (That’s no good, what am I going to do, shout my order down to them and have them toss it all up - no)!.. And flying from the airport to Armani felt longer to me than flying from Venice to Milan, so I thought I’d cut the engines to go down faster and restart them before hitting the ground… Well…
The first part of that plan worked, cutting the engines for a more rapid descent thing worked like a charm, it was the next part I had issues with, the ‘restarting them again’ part.

“The only thing that got hurt in that crash was my ego, and my desire to carry on.”
So I got out, went to dinner, had some Milanese tonight as I had Bolognanese last night in Bologna, and I was in Milan, I phoned up Gorgio Armani, told him what happened, he said I could come back later, I finished dinner, and crashed/feel asleep on my private jet or at Gorgio’s, I forget.

I woke up later, around 2 or 3 am local time…
Found a marvelous new airport for Milan I wished I knew about sooner, Milan (LIN) LIML, took my chopper out and I was back out to do some out-of-hours shopping.

Landed, saw this thing, it looked fancy, took a screenshot of it.
Then wanted to get in closer… I should have just parked here really.

“Wish me luck!”

“Oops.”

But not to worry, I went to Gorgio Armani, got some suits, I forget how much I spent, maybe $40,000.00 USD IDK, they pumped me full of champagne. I know I’m going to regret that. Nonetheless, I was back up, and despite being advised against it, I took my chopper over to Versace for more out-of-hours shopping over at Versace.

“I honestly thought Gorgio had slipped me something when I saw this mysterious red orb.”

But I made it, was able to park behind Versace, right side up this time.

Then I took everybody’s advice and did the rest of my shopping on the ground.
With my out-of-hours shopping done, I don’t remember how I got back to the airport Milan (MXP) LIMC where my jet was, but I decided I wanted to go to Pisa to see the leaning tower of Pisa, so I did.
I got on my private jet and it went Milan (MXP) LIMC to Pisa (PSA) LIRP.

“When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie, that’s amori.”
This caught my eye, the moon over the water on my approach to Pisa this morning.

First time at Pisa.

Took out my velocorapter-copter-thing/my chopper… Went to the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

I saw this on the way, I don’t know what it was, but it looked beautiful, so I quickly took a screenshot, and then I was at the tower, The Leaning Tower of Pisa.

then I…
Yup, you guessed it.

“That’s me landed on top of the Leaning Tower of Pisa, Baby!”

Then I flew back to the airport where my jet was because I wanted to go to Florance where Leonardo Da Vinci’s workshop is/or was…

Pisa (PSA) LIRP - Florence (FLR) LIRQ

“Hehehe, ‘Pizza Tower’ and ‘Pisa Tower’ (like the Leaning Tower of’) on the ATC, that never got old I tell ya.”

Well anyway, that flight was short, real short, no skipping ahead required and I still felt like I missed it… I also feel like I’ve had approaches and final approaches longer than this flight, y’know?
Anyway, I got down in Florence.

Saw the sun was coming up over the horizon.

I’m now in Florence, Italy on this game, been in Italy ever since I touched down at Bologna from Teeside to be honest…
This is my flying today.

I figure I’d spend the morning, maybe afternoon too (we’d see how it goes) in Florence, before I head down to Rome.

I went further from the coast to see more jungle (from FOGO to FCOU). In a way I did, yet I didn’t as cloud base was so low I did not dare to fly below. Had some decent shots still:

Getting more confidence in the company’s Pilatus PC-6. Flying cargo and pax from Paris to Buochs.

Cargo drop in the French countryside. Was tricky getting in there!

Lucerne Switzerland. The peak of Mount Pilatus appears under the tail wheel. Destination Buochs is tucked just behind the lake and small peak straight ahead.

I’m guessing right traffic 24 is not a thing in the real Buochs!

No passengers onboard, pulled the nose around for a fun bush like landing.

No place like home!!! Looking forward to mountain flying!

I flew the Embraer EJ170 this morning from Salt Lake City to Seattle. I had about given up on the Embraer EJs as they don’t always react in expected ways (controls/knobs seem counterintuitive, for instance). However, it wasn’t a bad flight once we got to FL360. ILS approach didn’t engage, and the aircraft wanted to speed up and climb while I was on final. I turned all the auto stuff off and managed to bring it in with no significant issues. I’m curious to see how the CRJs compare should they ever get released on the Xbox.
