What did you do in MSFS today? (Part 1)

When the sim simply delivers. Ethereal lighting and ahead of me, Live Traffic (matched on FlightAware) - a fractional yacht dealership owner headed South to escape the pre-Spring blahs. He just launched out of my home field ahead of me.

Saturday night, still out in London, though (in this game) I’m due to leave for Tokyo in the morning.

Took my Velocity out for some night sightseeing.

Then I went down to Croydon,
landed on ‘the 50p building’

then I went looking for Croydon Clocktower but this game doesn’t seem to have it, so I went to Thornton Heath, Upper Norwood and South Norwood and took pictures of my friends and my houses, showed my friends, and showed them Thornton Heath on this game, then I flew up the A23 and stopped at Brixton because I loved the detail Brixton had in this game.

Brixton.

Then I went back to Soho.

I also decided ‘N33’ for an American registration was a little short, so, as to leave no doubt, I think it’s now N333CA (I choose the letters CA as a homage to where I got it in this game ‘in my mind’ because I got it in Burbank (BUR) KBUR, California).

My kitty copilot was elusive today. But we are on an around the globe journey from SLC, UT to SLC, UT. And we made it to Kodiak Island today, in the Kodiak 100. Although the photo is the Beechcraft… I have to fly other planes once in a while.

A Coruña LECO to Bilbao LEBB in the A320NX . The approach into Bilbao is absolutely amazing. The new photogrammetry for that area looks stunning! (apart from this one bridge…)

Right now in the game, I’m on the way to Tokyo today.

Earlier…
Back at the airport, I took a picture of the plane I would be taking today.

Japan Airlines flight JL 92 London (LHR) - Tokyo (NRT)
/JAL 92 EGLL- RJAA Boeing 777-200ER

I don’t use Heathrow airport as much as I should for the UK, however, I was flying LHR - NRT today with JAL… But taking off this morning was busy.
London (LCY) just went up another notch, other aeroplanes were blocking the AI, causing the AI to forget which way to go while dealing with ATC at Heathrow today, one aeroplane went right through mine… Mine ended up doing the same, was chaos/madness I tell you.

Finally, we got up out and away…

London - Tokyo

Leaving the UK/Europe behind, see ya UK/Europe, 'til next time!
Also leaving Sunday behind it’s a 12 hour flight.

Then later around Denmark, I decided to settle in on my flight.
Of course I booked first class, I’m flying commercial, so right now in the game I’m flying London to Tokyo first class today.

I want a live landing, so, I’m going to pick this flight up in the morning (Japan time)… And show everybody JL 92 land and everything when I get to Japan.

I’ve never been to Japan before, I wanted London Heathrow to Tokyo Narita airport, and I wanted it with JAL, that’s why I didn’t book with British Airways to get to Japan today, I wanted JAL and I didn’t want HND, I wanted NRT for my first time in Japan, luckily, JAL has JL 92 LHR - NRT, so I was sorted/am on that now.

I finally crossed the equator for the first time in my African journey in this Ouésso Airport (FCOU) - Maya-Maya Airport (FCBB) leg. Also this leg left the jungle lands too.

What was a bit eye watering that either bing maps seemed to have lower resolution photos of the lands or my internet connection acted up again, but sometimes I could see that fields and forest walls had quite noticibly rectangular sides.

Still zigzagging rivers, ridges, hills and other terrain features still made this a trip worth watching:

Nothing because my weather still broken.

Just a lovely evening flight in the Carenado from Fife airfield outside Glenrothes up to Loch Earn in the Scottish highlands and back down again. I must say the live weather is so good now. We’ve had a lovely unseasonably warm Spring day here on the East coast of Scotland.

Usually when that happens we get sea mist, or haar as its called here in Scotland, coming in in the evening. So as I flew back to Fife there was a huge wall of haar coming in right across Fife and the east coast. I had to divert and land in Edinburgh.

I love this sim.

I am a brand new MSFS user. I bought the latest (& most expensive) version, installed it on my HP OMEN laptop running W11 home. I have many “how to” questions about things I want to do while flying. Like: In the cockpit display, when I “rotate” the elevator trim wheel with the mouse cursor, it does not stay rotated. Same with the joystick buttons. How do I get the trim setting to “stick”?
I badly need contact with knowledgeable players to help me get going!
Thanks - Val G

Another leg on my journey to Mount Etna with the FK9, from LFST (Strasbourg) to LFGB (Mulhouse Habsheim).

My flight preparation was: fly east after take-off, then follow the Rheine until your destination. Given clear skies I flew at 4000 ft and navigation with the Rheine was a breeze.

Photo Album

What a day, heading 120 to the Rheine

There it is!

So nice!

The features of the river make it very easy to navigate with a map

Another stop, but not ours:

Approaching the airfield

Wheels on the ground LFGB

And relax …
