What did you do in MSFS today? (Part 1)

I’ve just touched down in Japan.
First time in Japan.
I wanted a live landing, so I waited 12 hours for that shot.
Narita Airport

JL 92 Arrived on time.
London - Tokyo
Japan Airlines flight JL 92 London (LHR) - Tokyo (NRT)
/JAL 92 EGLL- RJAA Boeing 777-200ER

Welcome to Tokyo.

I think it’s too early for check-in so I’m going to head into Tokyo for a bit, it’s like 9:30 am here now, I slept a little bit on the flight, first-class ticket, and whatnot, but, I’m still on London time. It’s morning time here but my body thinks it’s night. Might do a little sightseeing or something before checking into the hotel, am tired though.
I’m staying at the Ritz-Carlton in Tokyo.

“The plan for Japan…”

I know I’m going to Tokyo Dome while I’m here though, get my

on, and check out Kabukicho and Roppongi too while I’m here.
And a bunch of other stuff too in Toyko.

I’ve got my friend’s band in Hiroshima I’m going to go see, and I want to also go to Osaka, Mount Fuji, Kyoto, Yokohama, and Sapporo up in Hokkaido, that’s the plan for Japan.
In this game, I’ve just got to Japan, and I’m starting with Tokyo.
So I’m going to Tokyo Dome and stuff here first.

Took the mighty Goose out around Catalina again this morning. What a joy to fly this old beast.

Then this afternoon, we had a short hop around Oahu, sporting one of Jankee’s amazing new liveries.

Wow! There really was more to update today. I also updated FSUIPC which ended CTDs I was getting. Who knew.

The other day I was tooling around my favorite Nagoya area to check out the Thursday update. Worked fine.

Started at a regular airport in Ise, which was an air base and had all the helo markings.

Also a decent representation of Ise Jingu, one of Nippon’s three main shrines.

Across Ise Bay eventually to Chubu Centrair to harrass the folks on the observation deck (tee hee). Noticed the ship AI with smoke and a light wake.

In all my flying, I’ve not been to Toyota-shi. So, off I went and found the HQ and quite a few factory buildings.

Flew over Nagoya to see out the castles at Inuyama and Gifu - not much love there.

Atsuta Shrine, another of the three main shrines in Nippon.

Finished at Komaki.

Sitting in Japan, I’m booked into the Ritz-Carlton Tokyo, but check-in isn’t until 3 pm and it’s 1 pm… (I should’ve got that later flight)…
That said, I’m sat here in Tokyo, I took a modern limo from the airport, even though I’m following some 1992 thing, it’s 2022, I’m taking Boeing 777s and 2020’s limos, not Boeing 747s and 1980’s limos, like what inspired me to come to Tokyo and Japan in the first place, it’s 2022, modern limo, to downtown Tokyo it seems.

I’m due to meet my translator here at the cafe, nonetheless, I’m sitting down, my bags are either on my private jet which is making its way to HND as I speak, and what I checked with JAL yesterday has been sent ahead to the hotel, so I got a pen and paper from the waitresses here, and I sat down and plotted everything I want to do on this trip to Japan, while I wait for check-in time and my translator to get here, who’s agreed to meet me now before I go to bed.
So that’s good.

I had to sit down, work out who I knew where and what I wanted to see and do.

I also have an old drinking buddy in town here who also translates, I might pick him up/hire him too, but I’m sitting down in Tokyo, in a cafe, gathering my thoughts, waiting for this translator I hired, she seemed nice by her picture…

I’m going to meet her, introduce myself, all of that, then have the limo come pick me up and take me to the hotel, so I can get some sleep in Japan, it may be 1 pm, but it feels like bedtime to me. London just went into DST when I left it so, that’s good, only 8 hours time difference now.

The plan is to meet my translator, then go off to the hotel for check-in, then hit Tokyo when I wake up.

I’m going to start Japan off in Tokyo though and see Tokyo first. The itinerary I just sat down and worked on was really for what to do after Tokyo - and now I know what way I want to do Japan.

WU VIII, CTD again

Yesterday at this point but took part of the Welcome to the Oscars event in ZLA on VATSIM. TrackIR helped me loads keeping an eye out for traffic. Flew the Mini Route a few times and it was awesome seeing all the traffic below at KLAX. I gave KBUR, KVNY and KLGB traffic too…

(this actually got more populated as time went on)

I had so much fun.

I flew an A320neo from Orlando to Cancun. Everything was going well, and after checking the flight plan before departure, I expected a relatively smooth flight. However, the autopilot demons took over as we descended into Cancun. My plane stopped navigating and decided to go into a steep right turn/descent. I managed to recover the aircraft, and we landed without incident.

In the meantime, I’m getting a little heartbroken seeing all the remarkable vintage aircraft released to the PC, and I can’t help but wonder how much longer it will be before we can fly these great planes on the Xbox.

First day in Japan, last night/this morning for my body though, woke up at around 10 pm, I was still on London time even though it was like the afternoon in London, I rolled out of bed late, which since I just flew in from London and was tired, I’m okay with waking up 2 pm and it being all 10 pm and stuff, fresh off the boat from London hit the nightlife I wanted to go to Kabukicho, I set out around 11:20 pm last night.

This city looks beautiful, right off the bat I could I tell that I abosutely loved the place.

Looking for Kabuicho Ichibangai, I saw a bunch of neat stuff.
Then I found a random helipad, landed on it. Saw they had a ‘Nationa Diet Building’ in the distance the instruments were telling me, then I got blown about a bit in the wind, setting down in a bunch of places looking for Kabukicho Ichibangai was when I earned that landing in the wind thing.

Coca-Cola… KFC!

Turns out I was going in the wrong direction, so I went back up the street.
I remember I went back past the KFC, and noticed I was flying on the left, felt like England to me a bit, like in England, that was cool.

I had arrived.

and found a McDonald’s.

Kabukicho Ichibangai

Went back up out past the KFC, then decided I wanted to back, and turning around I got blown about/lost control, was sent flying through buildings and around the corner so I had to circle the block, saw this.

Louis Vuitton

Made it back, found this there too. Looked cool. Like a big arcade I assume, anyway, I didn’t go in, I parked up.

Damnwell got stuck in that place, looked cool though.

Was free, took off to check out Roppongi, looked cool, but I also wanted to see the Tokyo Tower, I’d probably be back out to Roppongi tonight if I’m awake. I’m going back to Kabukicho Shinjuku today, in a bit, because I want something to eat/drink and they have this cat cafe I want to check out, but, as I was saying…

Roppongi last night/first day in Japan, after Kabukicho Shinjuku last night.

It reminded me of that movie Akira (1988) to be honest.
I also felt a little bit like Godzilla looking for Kabukicho flying amongst the buildings here…

Tokyo Tower!

Then I hit the Shibuya Scramble Crossing.

Took more pictures of it.

Then I called it a night at 1 am.

I woke up again at 10 am, I also went out again today around 1 pm earlier, went back to Kabukicho for this cat cafe (this time in the day) I wanted to go to, then I went off to the Tokyo Dome, and then I went off to go sightseeing, saw Tokyo Skytree, Tokyo Tower (again in the day) and Rainbow Bridge and places.

Kabukicho (again)

I’m starting to know this place as my home away from home, so far… I recognise things, I know what’s here now, I am going out to Roppongi where my hotel is to go out clubbing there one night. But this is the first place I know here in Japan (so far), Kabukicho Shinjuku.
Got my cat cafe on here, was excellent, I also tried Japanese McDonald’s. Stick with what I know right now. Trying to get my bento box and sushi on though, etc…

Tokyo Dome

What I came to see in Japan (as well as other things)…
I’m not going to lie, in this, I just came back from America, I went to Whitby, North Yorkshire for the day last week, then went off to Italy for dinner, decided to go to Venice since I was in Italy, decided while I was close to Milan, even though I had an excellent time in Venice, I went shopping in Milan, landed on the tower of Pisa went to Florence, spent the morning there before going off to Tusancy, went to Rome, saw Rome! Went to Catania, loved the sun, loved it all, thought about my guitar that was built there back at home Friday night, saw this business-class only flight that I booked out of Rome back to London City so went back to Rome to catch that flight. Spent Friday night and Saturday night where I’m from, left out for Japan on Sunday though England did DST, I did for about 9 or so hours that day, maybe 12, and then did an 8 hour time difference on a 9-hour altered clock as I think I was still in BST/UTC personally, England went DST and I went Japan!..
I flew first class but didn’t get much sleep, I slept a bit on the way over.. I came to do my laundry in Japan. :face_with_hand_over_mouth:
Yeah, sure, I had a couple of nice suits I took with me that I got in Milan last week at Gorgio Armani, but I came to Japan to do my laundry (and see the place)..

I think I’m getting used to Tokyo though, I went out last night, my first day in Japan… I woke up at 10 pm Monday and landed that morning and got to bed around 3 pm just after check-in at the Ritz Carlton. I was near the Rainbow Bridge actually this heliport / I was near Tokyo Heliport (RJTI) before getting the limo to Roppongi where I found a place there to gather my thoughts and meet my translator, now I know what I’m doing in Japan after I’m done with Tokyo.

You see, I can’t come to Japan for the first time and not check in with my people here.

I went back after 1 is and called it a night to go blog about it, was way cool!.. But the blog was down for maintenance, anyway, I and the and the producers of this adventure had words, so I’ve had to edit a bit, but, everybody’s happy and I seem good to go.

I woke up just after 10 am this morning, went out around 1 pm, (am starting to get the hang of Tokyo time because I went back to bed after finding the blog was read-only)..
I went to this cat cafe back at Kabukicho, my home away from home here.. It seems.
Went back out today, had my tea, I went to the McDonald’s I found last night as they were open now, had Japanese McDonald’s, pet a cat/bought food/treats for the cats where I had my tea. Just plain ol’ ocha, nothing fancy, loved it though, love being here…
Looked up and met up with my old drinking buddy from England who’s got roots here and moved out here and became a translator.. I already hired one, but, I’m giving him a little something-something for helping me out, I picked up my friend, then went off to Tokyo Dome, did what I had to do there, then we took off for my sightseeing this afternoon, they took me to do some touristy things here in Japan since Kabukicho Ichibangai wasn’t what the producers had in mind. We went to the Tokyo Skytree.

Imperial Palace

Tokyo Tower (again, this time in the day)..

Then I wanted to see some sumo and where the sumo stadium was in Tokyo but was told it’s out of season in Tokyo and it’s where’s the Summer-dasho is, however, it has started in Osaka for the Spring-dasho and I will be in Osaka on this trip to Japan at some point (I think after Hiroshima or Sapporo)… but I will be in Osaka soon anyway, so, I am going there to see Osaka too, so I’d be going out to a sumo wrestling match out in Osaka one night there with my friend who I’m picking up in Hiroshima after I’m done with Tokyo.. But this is the Tokyo one; Ryogoku Kokugikan National Sumo Stadium

Then I was shown which one was Rainbow Bridge by everybody, turns out I saw it when I got there, but, here it is earlier this afternoon.

Then I decided to go back to my hotel so flew back to Kabukicho Shinkyo because, that’s the only way I know how to get back to Roppongi is from there (I’m from London)!.. Cut me some slack..

Anyway, saw this shrine on the way back. I think it was Meiji Shrine, but don’t quote me on that.

Looked cool anyway though.

It’s now midnight, but I’m wide awake, not good, we’ll see how it goes and what happens next, still on London time ‘Baby!’ I guess, yeah.
I’m back at Tokyo Dome tomorrow night though.

I’m new here, so I guess you’re okay with double posting then…

Some online communities don’t like double posts, but, I assume, based on this, if it’s more than 10 images, FSforum’s okay with double posting.

Done another leg straight to the South from Maya-Maya (FCBB) to Negage (FNNG). It was crisp air upon departure, that became just the right amount of clouds to help appreciate the speed of the Albatros.

A few more such legs and I’ll run out of southward (at least I don’t think the Albatros can make the Africa - Antarctica flight even on full tanks)

There is also an old saying about “less is more”.

Just some advice, keep flying and sharing how you see it.

I went out around 3 am, because I wanted to triple check I didn’t miss something..
I found the Godzilla statue, turns out it’s also in Kabukicho. (The first place I’m fast getting to know here in Japan). Not only do I now know where that Godzilla statute I want to go see is, I now know that street already, so, I know Kabukicho now.
So I went out, and yeah, 3 am, I was there, no Godzilla statue hugging a building in sight on MFS.

So I went around, got to know the area a bit, found the first Coca-Cola sign I found on my first night again, and now I know where I was and where I should have gone on that first initial night instead of looking for it and getting blown about in that wind in my Velocity that night and finding it like half-hour to an hour later.. I now know what I should have done on my first night, with tonight’s 3 am flight.

I had to revise my plans for after Tokyo.
I came out here with Japan Airlines from London Heathrow (LHR) to Tokyo Narita (NRT), but my private jet’s arrived here waiting at Toyko Haneda (HND), I’m going to take my friend off in it and use it until I’m back at Tokyo to leave Japan.

I’m going to use my private jet for;

That’s the plan, anyway.

Sunday Hiroshima to see my friend and her band who’s playing in Hiroshima this Tuesday and then take her around Japan with me for a bit after that until after Okinawa.

I thought Kyoto had its own airport, but MFS says otherwise.

I am starting to get stir crazy here in Tokyo a bit, either missing England or missing Oregon but I’m here in Tokyo loving it still and I am starting to learn my way around now/know the place. I’ve got one more day to go sightsee before Tokyo Dome and then one more day after that before Tokyo Dome and then it’s off to Hiroshima for my friend to pick her up and see Hiroshima before we head off to Aomori, Sapporo, Kyoto and then Osaka by flying into Osaka, Okinawa then after Okinawa we’d part ways and she’d go back to Hiroshima and I’d go onto Kansai where I hope to see cherry blossom ('tis the season), then Mt. Fuji then Kochi for sunrise so I may get in the night before for that one, then back to Tokyo to exit Japan…
I already know Osaka’s going to be fun, and I’ve also got us tickets to see my first sumo match there in Osaka too when I get there.

Maybe, I am tempted, to fly out to Hiroshima real quick, pick up my friend, bring her to Tokyo and head to Tokyo Dome with her, on my last night, then we can fly back to Hiroshima and see her band and her city after my 2nd night at the Tokyo Dome…

Hmmm…

Tempting, or I might just stay in Tokyo a week? Stay an extra day or two after my 2nd night at Tokyo Dome is over with on Saturday.(Friday night and Saturday night I’m there) - before leaving out to see my friend in Hiroshima who playing Tuesday night.
Then I’m picking her up and we’re going too see some of Japan together until we split ways in Okinawa.
First, I’ve got 2 nights at the Tokyo Dome to get through at the end of the week before I think about I even think about checking out and heading off to Hiroshima.

It’s like 06:30 am now, but I’d be going to bed in a couple of hours. I can feel it. Back in England, it’s now 10:30 pm, so, I guess that makes sense. Still adjusting to the time here, I’ve been here since Monday morning.
