Your issue/concern is that your Xbox won’t have enough storage to allow for all the additions/payware that you’ve purchased for the flight sim? If you’re able to add an extra terabyte or more using the expansion ssd drive that’s on the back of the Xbox will that not be enough for you to enjoy the flight sim? The expansion SSD drives are as fast as the internal SSD drives so I have no doubt that you can use that for the sim if needed as well. FYI it’s also not a game but more of a simulator to more of the sim enthusiasts on the forums. If you enjoy the flight sim & get serious about it you’ll wanna purchase a PC to fly in the future.
Today I took a few passengers sightseeing from KMIA to the Naples zoo at Caribbean Gardens FL. Then back to KMIA.
Enjoying the Caravan in the Central African Republic flying to all the dirt strips.
A low pass to check the strip!
Land it
Park it
Unload it
Flew CYUS to CYRB in the Junkers JU52 late last night with my flight plan to keep in the Arctic and to go up to the Nordics after Greenland and Iceland flying
Im on the way from Pointe à Pitre [TFFR] to Brussel [EBCI], still 1650nm to go
To be fair, I shouldn’t have to need a faster Xbox, granted, I have a first generation Xbox One I picked up in 2018 because I found a used one that was unused/ths ex display model or something, or, in a box but never sold and was purchased on its launch back in the day, I forget how unused my used Xbox was, but, it was bought from new and never used, from an independent shop who never had floor models to try, it was just in a display case in the window, but, it was good for my pennies, since then they’ve put out newer faster Xbox Ones and apparently my one wasn’t current, but still…
And besides, if I can explore Tokyo and Kawasaki for a week… I should to anytime right? It’s there in the game, right.
It’s the only helicopter on this platform too, I was tempted to buy the helicopter I thought I saw, looked at buying it, turns out it wasn’t a helicopter, just a really fancy hospital in 'Switzerland with a helipad, no helicopter in sight to fly…
Without a Volocity, I’m on my back like I was in my seaplane I got for Whitby, North Yorkshire if I ever want to go anywhere on this game that’s not an airport; I’m on my back looking up and around all beit on the ground, but really hit or miss with the location and still immbolised.
Vertigo Low Pass - Castillo de Santa Barbara, Alicante ES, on my Deconstructed Mediterranean Bush Trip.
Thank you!
You just reminded me of another England idea I have…
I’m in 2 minds to start North America or do England stuff I was going to do later, now, since I’m here/just got back and done this like 1 of 1 task and found I couldn’t pad it out with stuff around London.
If I had a VoloCity, I’d have something to do in England.
Completed my Deconstructed: The Great Barrier Reef Bush Trip.
Now that is commitment. To be that deep (8hours flight time) and then get a CTD seconds from touchdown.
Would be a Series S Smash out of the window for sure
Hence why I never bother to risk the inevitable on long flights.
You won’t believe it, but I had a CTD right when I landed, couldn’t even roll to the gate anymore… but at least I could still land 🥲😂

Ever need to lose 5,000 feet inside of a nautical mile? Me neither. Until the flight profile put me atop the glaciers near Sion and I needed to lose altitude fast before I overran the field. Solution? If you have Vertigo, a power-off Split-S will put you into a dizzying 6,000 fpm descent. Oh, and that heavy breathing? That’s your pilot avatar discovering what G-crunches are. Seriously, that was such a cool Sound Effect. (For the record - mine is set to Civilian not Military Pilot G-rating).
While flying the DC6 from Reno to Portland my kitty copilot got a little annoyed with me calling her my Automatic Flight Engineer.
Left Yeovil EGHG before 7 pm to fly to Teeside MME/EGNV for Whitby in my private jet.
When I landed here this morning for Cerne Abbas, it was still dark out, and it was my first time in Yeovil I had no idea this was a grass runway until I took off for Teeside this evening.
So far, crossing England hasn’t needed to skip ahead, no really long flights at all.
My mapping tool hasn’t heard of Yeovil EGHG so I wasn’t able to plot this flight to share the route.
Got up to feed the cat familiar and whatnot, came back and noticed the sun was begining to set.
Got to my final approach to Teeside MME/EGNV to this.
“Welcome to Hell, Mr. Treborillusion.”
Landed it…
Rushed off to Whitby, North Yorkshire that I was going to buzz today, to capture the sunset there instead. (Because that’s where Bram Stoker homed his novel Dracula and even set it part of it there and that’s where that ship Dracula took to the UK crashed in the story).
Went up to St. Mary’s Church and Whitby Abbey Ruins at the top the 199 Steps.
Couldn’t see Whitby Abbey insight on MSFS.
Decided to go over to where Bram Stoker stayed in Whitby, to watch the sunset from there.
Outside Bram Stoker’s place on Royal Crescent where he stayed in Whitby and worked on Dracula, for sunset, of course.
I went here last year from 31st October - 5th November (from Halloween to Guy Fawke’s Day) for the first time and on that trip I visited this site so I eyeballed it based on that until I got the same P.O.V for this sunset shot from there.
I then came off.
Came back on to fly back to London.
What I did was finally enjoy FS 2020 without any system crashes. I changed two pieces of hardware last week on my computer, so I’m not sure what “fixed” things.
The first was a switch from an air-cooled CPU (Noctua NH-D15) to liquid cooling, which did bring my CPU temps (over-clocked i7 10700K) down a bit.
The second was to replace my trusty old RX 590 video card with something a bit newer, but not bleeding edge or over-priced. That card (for me) was the Sapphire Pulse RX 6700XT. It was one of the few cards that would fit in my case (Cooler Master HAF XB EVO) without moving my radiator to the front side of the case. Both of these two cards used the same version of the software, but I did remove the old install before re-installing the same software version for the new video card. No biggie.
Anyhow…No more crashes and my Quest 2’s visuals improved beyond my expectation. I can actually turn up the resolution. I have a bit of work to do with the settings, but I’m getting there. I still have some odd “shimmering” happening that I need to track down.
So, what I did over the last few days was re-fly a few of the Bush trips I’d done in the past. I’m, finally, pretty happy with FS 2020 and my budget VR headset.
Did another leg of my trip in the FK9 to mount Etna: LSZL - LIMC
Easy navigating the lake, the follow the river to Milan Malpensa.
Steam and Flight Simulator decided I was offline, so the scenery was kind of weird that way.
I also forgot to save my flight, so next time I’ll have to start a fresh one, I guess that’ll be a flight WITH the toolbar.
I also updated the Time of Day in my save file to “the next day”, because it was getting dark.
Next up, LIMC to LIMJ (Genova).
Photo Book
Another beautiful morning to get going:
Only a small part of the runway do I need (in flight sim at least, in real life, I’ll take all runway I get)
Woops, the wrong way!
Aha, these shore lines. I hadn’t seen them before, may be due to the offline mode.
I really love vast open land
Like a big boy
Nice parking, forgot to save!
Simair:
My flight back to London LCY/EGLC from Teeside MME/EGNV
188NM, still didn’t skip it.
Got home around 10, 11 pm, sometime like that…
Decided to buzz Camden to Wood Green, didn’t see a lot of detail.
Came back down to central, passed King’s Cross Railway Station.
Then I saw this on Charing Cross Road which made me believe the game put more detail into this area than I noticed before, also, for the uninitiated, T J Maxx in the UK’s called T K Maxx and T K Maxx in the US is called T J Maxx, for some reason. Just a little Easter Egg for you all.
Which made me buzz Denmark Street / UK’s Tin Pan Alley as I would do coming from North to South London, also it’s over the road (Charing Cross Road) to Soho and the clubs close at 1 am, or 3 am, and there are places open to eat and shop and great guitars to window shop.
Went off to Piccadilly Circus.
You’ve got Japan Center there, this Japanese supermarket where I buy my matcha from… I was just in Japan the day before yesterday, in this game, so, I noticed Japan Center there, liked the detail of Boots and London’s Ripley’s Believe or Not.
Finished off at Burger King, Leicester Square, which closed like 1 am or something.
But this neighborhood was dark AF on this game.
Buzzed about to the London Eye and came off
