What did you do in MSFS today? (Part 1)

Getting used to the HJet on longer trips. London City UK to Nice FR, evening arrival to RWY 22L - it was gorgeous. Most of France was unfortunately socked in, but the weather cleared around Lake Neuchatel and Geneva. Awesome views of the Alps on the way.

Did a little Neofly trip from TFFJ to TNCS. Had to do some go-arounds, I’m not sure but the C172 felt really floaty. Even as I was hearding the stall alarm, doing less than 50 kts, it just happily floated on the runway really long. May be my fault.

Last night’s flight from KDFW to KBNA in the PMDG 737-700 was gorgeous, and the skyways were busy!

This afternoon’s legs were much less photogenic, but it was fun to rock this old school livery …

Visited Skerries EG78. First landing was hard, because I didn’t realize the runway is sloped, and was not ready to pull so much on flare. But then I tried second time and it was butter.
Also I really like the light-house, it is good reference point for turning base and final.

Last week I came back from our honeymoon at Tenerife.
Back home I decided to pay el Teide a visit once more.

A nice volcanic island.

Getting inspired by the real thing after having found some real cockpit close-up photos to overhaul the PMDG 737 cockpit a little bit:

I am currently trying the brushed aluminium style on the footrests:

And the thrust levers don´t need to be so dirty, they get an overhaul too…

The overhaul of the autopilot and panel illumination stripes is almost finished too:

I upload it as soon as it´s ready.

I was inspired by watching videos of top dressing (crop spraying) in New Zealand by Jimbo Burgess. eg. Difficult airstrip - Cropdusting up a mountain - YouTube

So I headed over to the north island in a STOL craft, starting at Taupo airport NZAP.

I took off and headed west over the first stretch of water, until I found a good looking hill to use as my farm airstrip. I landed and rolled to the top to fill up with fertiliser.

I then took off down the hill.

And made my first pass.

I came back in to land.

Refilled and went for my second pass.

This was heaps of fun, with dodging the high trees and hill at the end of the field, I made many round trips averaging under 5 minutes each. I then flew back to NZAP to land.

Although the kitfox was great to fly for this I decided it was a bit too fancy for the job so I jumped into the monster cub which felt a lot more agricultural and did it all again!

It was great fun fertilizing grass to feed all of those sheep.

It would be great to get an Air Tractor, Cresco, or Piper Pawnee to be more realistic. I saw that there is an Ipanema for PC but not xbox and I don’t think they are used in this part of the world.

Jimbo also used to be a chief pilot flying into Lukla and has some of the best in cockpit videos I’ve seen on landing and taking off at VNLK, search up his channel to watch them!

Nearly lost my s&*t today…3 hour flight from HECA to OMDB on Vatsim, 3nm final and…

which online service do you use?
Ingame Live Flights, Multiplayer, Vatsim/Ivao?

That flight was using “live” traffic, but Multiplayer turned off.

I haven’t flown the 737 with any kind of real-human multiplayer since I’m still learning a lot of aspects of the FMC and practicing manual flight. I don’t want any mistake I make in procedure or aircraft handling to mess up anyone else’s day.

The more I fly the PMDG 737, the more I fall in love with it. Spent a portion of yesterday afternoon flying from KLAS to KPDX and loved every second of it.

What a great design this jet is. They did such a lot of engineering work to ensure the engine over wing installation worked well. It really does free up the cabin and looks awesome. I heard they are gonna build a bigger one too.

Wanted to see a mod in development at Drum airfield. Looks great and includes plenty of helo opportunities. I did take the wonky Waco (TOs and landings), and landed at another nearby field.

Also wanted to see New York City because it’s there…

Oh, yeah, just before arriving at Drum, the sim pulled a CTD - never had that before - fit the descriptions others had about flying for hours (the Waco is SuLOOOOOOOW) and the sim quitting at or near the destination… I restarted it at the time I thought I was at and finished it. No issue at all, so it was not the scenery at Drum.

What KLGA scenery is that?
