What did you do in MSFS today? (Part 1)

Fantastic early morning 3h14m flight from Brunei (WBSB) to Mandalay, Myanmar (VYMD) in our beloved Longitude. Took off about 3AM and landed just before 5AM local time in Mandalay on the ILS runway 17. Flying in real time isn’t all bad - it forces you to fly according to whatever the local time is at your destination, and invites all the challenges that suggests! Welcome to Mandalay!

Haven’t used the sim for a few weeks so took my first flight in the 32NX from Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport RPLL (Philippines) to Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport VTBS (Thailand) had a pretty uneventful flight, coming into land faced strong cross winds which blew me quite far to the right so at about 500 feet I aborted the landing and went around, second time I managed to land successfully

It’s the Feel There scenery. Came out long ago.

Really enjoying the new HJet on XBox…practicing manual pattern work at KRDR to get a better feel for trim & pitch management at takeoff and flare/power management on landing. Then onto Massachusetts for a flight from KPVD Providence along the curl of Cape Cod and on to RNAV RWY 22L at KBOS Boston. I’m enjoying the learning curve on this one (usually fly steam gauge/prop) and really appreciate all the love and hard work Marwan put into it and making it available on XBox.

500 hours of flying (+ a hundred or more stolen by ctd).

A flight from Malta to Bruxelles.

In this photo you can see the last moment of glory before a bloody CTD few miles away from the runway, just after 2hrs and 47 minutes.

Success (sort of) at LFPS - Notre Dame De La Salette

Finally I completed Bordeaux to Mont Blanc Bush trip leg 14. First, let me say that whoever put that airstrip in the bush trip using that airplane obviously likes to create a challenge.

After a couple unsuccessful leg 14 flights, I spent a couple days of practicing landings, I finally got the plane on the ground. I always failed at landing on the south heading approach onto the assumed airstrip because I could not stop by the top of the hill. Instead I approached heading north onto the steep hill, flopping down with the nose-up. . I stopped short of the top and had to work the brakes, throttle, and rudder to switchback/reverse slalom up to the top. So, I got there but it wasn’t pretty.

Maybe they could put a green at the top and make it into a nice challenging par 3 practice hole because it’s not very practical as an airstrip. Gotta admit though, it was fun

Fellow in Nihon made some azalea scenery for Tsuruine Park in Okaya-shi, Nagano-ken. The azaleas bloom in early June. Quite a nice first effort. Took the Chunichi Shimbun crew up for a look. Otanoshimni! Tsurumine Park's Gorgeous Azaleas - Nagano - Japan Travel

if you look carefully in the last image of the first five, there are visibility markers on the power lines. Is that a sim scenery or a mod? I’m adding so many scenery designer-required mods that I don’t know. They sure look cool and like a lot of work.

Dusted off the Longitude - I forgot how much of a starship she is, and the Auto-Throttle is so convenient for speed configuration. Rome to Paris in 2 hours at FL440 M0.79, busy day on the jetways with plenty of contrails around me. A slow taxi past the famous Octopus Terminal 1.

Does the longitude have a good mod?

Dakfly’s Flight Dynamics Mod and WT G3000 are essential.

I found it. Before leg 14 I practiced landings at LFPS in different airplanes. This is video of C152.

And yes, DV40 is quite challenge compared to C152. Because it has higher stall speed and I think lower angle of attack, so more careful with flare.

I finished my Mississippi river flight today. Just over 15.5 hours split across multiple flights from the headwaters to the ocean.

Then I did a short flight around marble canyon. Ignore my pilot, I keep forgetting to change him. Haha

Nothing as the sim hasn’t been working for me for the past five days

Well looks like I failed the around the world flight in the Junkers JU52 , I hit another mountain again near the VE91 airfield idea this is the 7th time I hit a mountain, my around the world flight rules by the way are if you hit a mountain and land up side down (because no crash settings) will end the series but if the aircraft lands on its wheels it’s still good going to start a new around the world flight again starting in Seattle this time with the 747

I hit an invisible wall going under a bridge in the default Niagara area… silly me. Sorry about the mountain.

Again today nothing. It has been six days and I can’t even load a flight.

Sometimes (actually quite often) this sim is just breathtaking. Took the Fenix for a morning flight from Edinburgh to the Faroe Islands and everything - the lighting, the weather, the scenery, the aircraft - felt incredibly real. Unfortunately I didn‘t take any screenshots because I was busy being in awe of the whole atmosphere (and because I was in VR). What a lovely flight, which I can only recommend.
