What did you do in MSFS today? (Part 1)

SU10 Beta: Quick hop from KSAN to KSBA, nice tight turn to straight-in. The Vertigo never disappoints.

We are taking the HJet to Chicago.

Found an absolute AWESOME Youtuber who makes 30-50 detailed minutes of the Airbus A320 systems. Started with the Fly by Wire and continued his awesome videos with the Fenix
I am watching these since a few days now (when being too lazy to fly).

Those are some excellent examples of scenery/weather! In smaller planes, I prefer some weather to make things interesting.

Programming the Fenix board systems for the first time, with a fully primary and secondary flight plan, EOSID engine-out standard instrument departure waypoint with holding pattern and computer-guided return to the departure airport for Pan-Pan landing.
And full programming of the EFB FlyPad™ with estimated arrival runway lenght computing.

It took 24 pages of handwriting and making notes while watching various YouTube tutorial videos to learn how to handle an Airbus. Every second was an absolute joy and I sometimes watched various YouTube tutorial videos three times in a row to be sure not having left out one single step or detail of programming the MCDU.

The next step will be learning to handle the autopilot (that seems to have two modes, managed computed autoflight and custom autoflight), and to learn ILS autolanding to finally be able to fly through clouds and harsh weather and thunderstorms, fog, and night!

Our two passengers tonight are Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson, because I am listening to Sherlock Holmes cases YouTube Audiobooks while enjoying the Airbus cockpit. Cargo is maxed out, but fuel is only 7500kg because it is a computed engine-out holding pattern and return to the departure airport with ILS landing training flight.

Have a seat too, and welcome to runway 23R at Manchester Intl airport! The weather is, ehm, “cloudy” (and nothing else) - because one-button auto-syncing METAR on the FlyPad has made me so lazy that I still have not learned how to proper read a METAR code, and will do that tomorrow

Or you can put LNM on a separate display if you have one. I have three. LNM is on one, always visible. No need to toggle and lose the flight view.

Summer in the Tsushima straits, southern Honshu, and northern Kyushu should make your day, then. I started in GA fixed wing, but moved to helos. I use aircraft that are stick controlled and I love to fly low to see the realistic locations and topography in this sim. Enjoy!

This is how you make a post right here. I’m in it now. Now I’m curious about the aircraft and Rick. What is his background? Is he a complicated man or is he simple? Does he show emotions with his eyes?
Good story telling my guy.

Finally got my 500 hours badge. Got it after a very annoying landing into Manchester airport EGCC. Took off from Amsterdam Schiphol had a lovely flight clear skies and what I thought would be a simple landing like normal. Lined up like normal second in line to land, hear there was a Ryanair flight about 14 miles out after me. So as I get closer to landing I get told to go around since a Loganair flight had just landed before me. This was the first time I’ve had to go around before. Went around and next thing I know I get told to go around again because the Ryanair that was 14 miles out had obviously just landed :face_with_steam_from_nose:. So I go around again, lined up with the runway and I’m thinking I’m going to get told to go around again, but luckily I landed as 3 aircraft were waiting to take off. Looking back was totally worth it for the 500 hours badge

Did a low altitude (~ 1500 ft), high speed (400 kts), tour of the north of Belgium, in the Hawker Hunter, from EBFS to EBFS.

Used VOR to navigate: KOK - NIK - FLO - SPI, and ILS to land on Runday 26R of EBFS.

Lots of cars on the taxi ways here:

Even on the runway as I’m lined-up, get off the road!!

Weird landscape feature …

Some more features of Liege:

That’s a little close …

And after all that, back where we started:

Took my Grandson and his wife on a tour of Rome in my H145. The flight followed 12 Waypoints, at 500 ft. and 60 knots. They know Rome well and were astounded. I never heard so many OMGs. They said it looks just as they saw it. I then showed her how to use the head tracker. Couldn’t believe her eyes, all I heard was a series of WOWs. She asked how could she set it up for my Grandson. $60 for the program and several thousand for the gear, I told her.

just the default scenery?

Yes. I don’t have have any scenery addon. I was surprised they found it so good, considering how much squawking there is on the forum. They asked ‘How do they do that?’

Just goes to show you how much the ‘community’ is full of hyperbole. I think the honest reaction of your relatives indicates how people who know a place are satisfied.

I’m considering turning off DRZ DC for the default. Right now, after the last WU, DC is full of conflicts. That’s a place I know after several visits with family (many relatives in the Delmarva area) and students.

Film at 11.

Quick question, why does the moon appear larger in some?
