Took the mighty Goose for a fishing trip at Shasta Lake north of Redding, CA.
Found a quiet spot in a bay and landed there.
Let’s hope for a bucket full of fish!
Flew from EHAM to EGGD. Spent most of the afternoon repainting my TBM with my corporate colours and getting the tail number to show. Its based on the default Asobo livery but looks nice I think.
Went off to Nagoya to try out some new helipads and a new Aichi-ken livery. An enthusiastic creator making it all possible. RJNA-RJGG. After all the progress in FS since the 90s, it would be so cool to have ethnically correct ground and plane crew, depending on region and airline. Asobo gave us that option, but creators, especially payware, have not.
Last evening I continued my travels through British Columbia, Washington, Oregon, Nevada and California, resuming this morning heading to Sacramento.
Departing Redding CA (KRDD) for Reno NV (KRNO) at dusk. I am blown away by the detail in the clear night sky! In the morning it was Reno NV (KRNO) to Truckee NV (KTRK), Lake Tahoe CA (KTVL) and Sacramento CA (KMCC).
Take aways:
- If it wasn’t for the app crashing, the experience would almost be perfect
- Flying at high altitude densities really forced me to pay attention the to the numbers when landing/departing
- Planning some evening/night flights in Southern California
- Still struggling with some approaches: intercepting RNAV glide slope on APR is hit and miss for these smaller airports. Even the LOC/ILS frequencies are a bit weird sometimes, but hey, at least I can tune to ATIS on com2

Some pix:
Parked at Tahoe this morning after arriving from Truckee (KTRK)
Leaving Redding
Landing in Reno
A little drone sight-seeing, downtown Reno
Next legs: Modesto CA (KMOD), Monterey CA (KMRY) and Fresno CA (KFAT)
Fly safe!

I spent 5 hours flying to nowhere.
2 blue screens
5 crash to desktops with Memory Application errors and no trace in event viewer etc
I would have liked to complete my Stansted to Dalaman flight but Xbox Gaming Services / the sim had other ideas.
A busy Sunday on Vatsim Europe with lots of peeps flying medium-haul with this great add-on & not too much cloud cover.
@BritishAvgk , terribly unlucky. Microsoft’s European servers seem to pick at random who is going to be their CTD “victims”, especially on Sundays. Last week was even more widespread. I generally try to avoid using this sim over the weekend, and I know that’s not even a reasonable compromise.. ![]()
Flew the Top Rudder 103 Solo in … waaaaaaay too high a crosswind. ![]()
Was very challenging, and I came this close to a successful landing before stalling and falling over. ![]()
Well I was going to share the better of two artistic creations I was working on but can’t right now - no access at the moment… so heres some pics from today:
Flew the Solo yesterday first time in over a year! So relaxing! A little nerve racking for you though! ![]()
The Fenix is already so jealous after spending the whole weekend with the 737! But there were a few bugs to fix in the 737 and I also had to fly her a little bit.
No FMC programming no real routes just handyflying and enjoying the mood and atmosphere of the cockpit.
Bah not even in 30.000 feet plus I can drive around in peace and quiet but traffic everywhere…
The TCAS said “descent” but I said "whatever, that traffic is a few inches higher than my Flight Level anyway - so whatever… yaaawn "
Now it´s time to really learn how to fly that 737 with the autopilot, ILS and autoland, because I am a very bad pilot but excellent in cockpit button-pressing + chilling and out-of-the-window-looking
(while the computer flies).
But first writing a checklist how to start her up when being on a terminal, and sync the IRS (or is it called ADIR?) with the FMC.
And playing around in the cockpit and on the FMC a little bit while the heater is on and the rain is falling on the windows in some nice late autumn weather settings…
I think today, maybe tomorrow, the first real and fully pre-programmed tutorial flight can begin, and the 737 will be mastered.
Just flew from Brown (thank you) to Borrego (thank you)! I’m hoping some day, some one (hint hint) talented will tackle Whiteman. Your work has made So Cal more realistic. Cheers!
Flew from Cork (EICK) to Kerry (EIKY)
Visiting Blarney Castle on the way. Have to say that all but the smallest settlements seem to have been added to Ireland, so town indicator pins were everywhere. I was wondering to turn them off, but those places have such fine names, reading them on the way was fun in itself
I was told by ATC to do left traffic, but as soon as I was flying the downwind part of it, I got clearance to land, so I said “Challenge accepted” and did land ASAP.
I wonder if this was the reason I got parked on the taxiway…?
Flew my FBW A32NX from Amsterdam to Heathrow.
