We have a few like that in the San Fernando Valley. Low and slow is the best. Cheers!
Just spent a month flying all over Cali. Really unique and very well done mapping. I saw unique things like the Bakersfield sign, other signage in other cities, and Simi Valley has a happy face hill that you can somewhat make out in the sim too lol
I can see the headlines now: Drop Bear spotted over Ayers Rock. Terrorizes tourists.
The animated Disney film The Rescuers Down Under has this great intro where the camera sweeps low and fast over the Australian landscape:
I used this appropriately named L-39 to recreate that sense of motion. The Outback is such a great place to fly extremely low and fast because it’s so pancake flat. Racing toward the monolothic formations just a few feet off the scrub:
Comon you can fly lower then that whats that like 75’ agl. Remember your not low enough till you hear the scrub brushing against your fuselage.
I realized recently that I’ve somehow never explored Philadelphia, so I did that this morning.
Then I did a quick flight around Miami.
Flying through Hurricane Ian via George Town (MWCR) to Cancun (MMUN), in a C-208 @ 5000’.
Getting rain, lightning & thunder. Very nice.
I’m doing that with my home digs, Los Angeles. Happy discoveries.
First flight in SU10, usual settings, no switch to DX12 or DLSS. Chalgrove to Biggin Hill. Thank goodness ORBX made it possible to fly through the Tower Bridge.
In the hundreds of photogrammetry cities across the USA that I have covered, today I flew over my first planned “upscale” community, in Carefree Arizona. I have flown over planned communities, but none labeled as upscale. I would say being that every house seemed like a mansion, “upscale” is if anything an understatement.

A population of over 3,600, the only schools are pre-schools. Really only thing to see is residentials, but they are all huge mansions with different architecture, some have really big pools, some have tennis courts. All are big and all have plenty of land.
They do own the world’s 3rd largest sundial located in the middle of the town-

I love this post. I am loving that aircraft more than any other the past 2 weeks and because of flight sim I learned about the story of Alan Pollock which I think is such a fantastic story, and it makes me appreciate the importance of what you mentioned about being able to fly through tower bridge.
A former RAF pilot’s take on that, he said it was disgraceful. Disgraceful that he was the only one to do it and others should have joined. That solidified that what he did was justified.
Twin ottering island hopping north Scotland wick to hollandstoun EGAN to get to my start point
Flew EGAN to EGPW in the twin otter
Today, secondly, I had three (more) unsuccessful attempts to get an A in the training exercise, “First Solo Flight”. I just don’t seem to be able to control all the bits together that need to be controlled together, there is always one that escapes. And that is after several hundred hours simming, mainly in a 172 in FS2020 but FSX and earlier versions before that.
Today, firstly, I had my first RL flight in a 172. It was a one hour “introductory flight” and I was promised plenty of hands-on experience. In fact I got more than I expected which was great because the point of the exercise was to test the proposition that with no lessons or RL experience I would be able fly from point A to point B without breaking the aircraft. In summary, I believe I could, now. Previously, perhaps not.
The other issue was to help decide if, where and when I might commence proper lessons. That is still undecided.
The location was YMKT, a small airfield south of Darwin Australia in uncontrolled airspace. Happy to provide more feedback if anyone is interested
I flew and had a crash that didn’t give any information, and another that had the same window about graphics card overclock nonsense from the beta. Good times. Also tried to fly at night and couldn’t see anything since the lights are useless. Also good times. So basically I had some good times flying.
A fellow Drop Bear flier! Welcome to the club
Nice shots, which plane is that?
Answering myself, looks to be the Carenado Waco YMF-5.
Looks nice but being an old release, does it still hold up nowadays in SU10?
A fun 1h38m flight from (a very windy) Duluth (KDLH) to a gorgeous Casper, WY (KCPR). Weather was perfect. Bought the upgraded scenery for Casper and it looked pretty good, though we couldn’t get taxi ribbons for some reason. Flew at FL380 and shot the ILS to runway 03. Third flight post SU10 and sim remains stable. Hoping it stays that way.
Flies even better.
