Mucked up the RNAV (push the NAV button, Max!), but still a gorgeous flight, KSDY-KBIL. KSDY looked awfully spring like considering the below-zero temps, but KBIL sure looked what I imagined it would given the weather reports. I guess the sim’s weather source only reports the big airports, not the small ones.

Still on my trip in Africa. Stopped at Kimberley for an overnight. Maybe I’ll find a diamond without getting shot. The screen
shot is of the ‘Big Hole’ diamond mine. I looked it up and it was dug completely by manual labor. Tomorrow on to Johannesburg. That part of Africa is certainly desolate. Miles and miles of nothing.

My ancient Logitech Extreme 3D joystick started to play up, with three buttons on the base now inop, so I picked up a Thrustmaster Airbus joystick for the Fly by Wire A320 Neo today. Feels really good in the left hand and can be configured for right hand if you want, for the Pitts or whatever.

I’m flying my new bird! Since the live weather is more accurate in France, I enjoy my new purchase which the great flight model (Certainely the most realistic in MFS2020!) Guess who is she? The Blériot XI by Wing42! Du pur “pilotage aux fesses”, this old legendary French bird from 1909 is very well represented especially the R.I.P edition

That imposes to make this bird your own body in order to fly her safe and nice… Really have to play with your rudders during the turn and pay attention at the bank angle to avoid the wing to stall because of inherent low speed which demands some training. I have so much respect for the pioneers pilots of aviation that i feel like a baby pilot in real compared to them…
For sure it is the best realistic flight model so far in the MFS2020 default aircraft even addons included, no doubt imo! So today I will take off from LFQT to LFAC and Dover flying over la Manche! Beautiful skies ahead! (kind of) lol 
Can’t wait for the improvement of thermals, updraft/downdraft winds that should be turned higher than it is currently to bring more realism out of MFS2020 Live Weather! Still, Mass Air dynamics/physics should be more alive in the sim! My biggest wishe than anything else!

Took a trip across the Sahara from Tripoli, Libya to Tamanrasset, Algeria, with stops in In Amenas and Ghat. There’s a whole lot of nothing out there, I kept wondering where the heck the towns out here get their water from. It was actually a nice background activity while watching streams though.

My brother-in-law is a Coast Guard aviator flying the C-144 out of Miami. He spotted and helped rescue three castaways that had been stranded on a deserted island for over a month. The story made international front page news when it was originally reported they had been surviving off of coconuts. Pretty epic.
I flew out of Marathon in the Keys in the Grravel Coast Guard livery and found the island, about 75 nm to the southeast. It’s a bumpy little spit of land, but getting the Grravel down on it was no problem. A couple of scattered cloud layers and navigating using only the compass made the excursion a photogenic and itneresting challenge.

Wow that’s crazy
Chased Jack (of all planes) inland from Porto Alegre Brazil to the Paraguay border in the Savage Cub. Destination was within range of aircraft and chosen because of favourable wind direction. I let the copilot fly about half of the way and the idiot drained the fuel tanks.
Engine died of fuel starvation within 10 miles of the runway but I brought the Cub down to a lovely soft landing on a patch of grass next to a river.
Rather annoying outcome though as I was hoping to mark the Savage Cub off my list as “done” and not have to hand fly something quite so slow for quite so long again.

So, I’m on final into Heathrow at night and I’m thinking “shouldn’t there be lights on the runway?”
It’s a very dark, very heavy, very bouncy landing…
I eventually look outside and…has there been an earthquake at Heathrow? Shouldn’t the runway at least be flat?!!

Sit around pressing refresh on the forums and keep on starting the sim to see if the update had dropped, when I could of been flying in the sim, I must say I’m rather unimpressed with Asobos/MS communication with the community on this one.
Finally saw the posting that Update 3 will happen on the 16. Cheers! I won’t have to keep starting the sim every hour today.
