Exploring Denali National Park (Alaska) in a glider observing the Aurora Borealis.
Wow I didn’t know if we had Aurora borealis in MSFS 2020.
I continued Iceland bushtrip in DC-3 in real weather: BIEG
BIAR
BIKR
BIHK
Weather was very good. Only little wind, I just had to avoid some clouds. It was fun to fly through valleys.
Tower, could you please clean the runway from snow?
Hmm.. which way?
Will let ya know in an hour after almost 7 hours in the air…
Saturday flight:
Eurowings Airbus A320
- Departure: Zagreb (LDZA)
- Arrival: Hamburg (EDDH)
- Distance: 613 nm
- Flight time: 1:33 hours
(Default) ATC just ruined my immersion with their unprofessional when gave landing clearance for both aircraft at the same time ![]()
did a short fly in WB C172 EKST → EDBZ
then took the comanche like few other (I will don’t give names
) and made part of the community group flight above Belgium for the National Day
El Alamein to Tobruk. Amazing how the Spit IX is now easier than the BR P40 (what a job I have with the latter)
Mersa Matruh
As Sallum
Tobruk
Inibuilds Curtiss p40 from KELZ to 0D4
I finished my California Bush Trip and had my first flight in the DC Designs F-4E. I love that aircraft (I flew one from the backseat in real life a about 8 years ago, short videos also below) and am so freakin happy that it’s in the simulator now!

I flew hundreds of folks accross the mountainous Japanese Alps region from Tokyo to Hiroshima. Not a rare day to see Mount Fuji obscured by clouds, like 75% of days in a year. Bad day for flocks of tourists waiting for a perfect picturesque snap of Japan’s most iconic scenery, but it is never ever a bad day from the sky above.
Lake Kawaguchi, Mount Fuji, and Aokigahara “suicide forest” all in one snap.
Finally I was able to fly in morning French time. On weekdays I can fly only afternoons European time. But summer heat causes stronger winds in afternoon. And I had to wait for morning time, when it’s not so hot and wind is calm. And today was that day.
After failure last weekend to land at LFPS I checked few IRL videos and I saw that windsock didn’t move in those videos. So I decided that I have to wait for calm winds to continue with French bushtrip in WB-Sim C172 in real weather. And it was game changer. Much simpler to keep stable approach.
Today I finished 3 legs LFMR
LFPS
LFHU
LFLJ
Already departure indicated smooth flight without turbulence. At LFPS I overflew the airport to check the winds. And then continued in circuit. At first approach I was too high, so I had to go around. I realized the circuit is tighter than usual, because of mountains, so I flew downwind at lower altitude. Then I did 3 successful landings. I had to push breaks really hard to stop at the top of the hill first 2 times, but 3rd landing was perfect.
Then I continued to LFHU and LFLJ. At both airports I did go-arounds, because I was too high. Well, there is no option for go-around at LFLJ, I just aborted very early. At second landing I realized I was missing that energy. I almost stopped at the runway before climbing to the top.
And at last I had brunch with a nice view.
MULTI-PLAYER PATTERNS AT KLNA Lantana Florida
I’ve been simming for 40 years and finally experienced flying VFR patterns with another simmer. This was so rewarding to me (albeit with realistic stress).
Thank you @Michail71 - such a blast!
We both were flying VR in the Cessna 172 on rwy 22 at Palm Beach County Park Airport in Lantana Florida and using Atlantic Coast Flying Club Discord as the CTAF channel for position and intention announcements. ( I got my PPL there 28 years ago, and still feel “at home” there. Michail71 built the airport scenery to match the current buildings.)
We did some patterns with me “in the lead”, and some following. The visuals were quite realistic, including losing sight in some conditions. The gamer tag helped as well, although there are always a lot of tags of folks nowhere close.
I’m going to set up an Atlantic Coast Flying Club event to do it again in about 2 weeks. Hopefully some more folks will join.
Thank you Michail and Atlantic Coast Virtual Flying Club
And next flight was legs 6 and 7 of Iceland bushtrip in DC-3 in real weather: BIHK
BIIS
BIPA
Approach to BIIS was interesting. METAR said wind was 100@08, so I decided to land rwy 08. This however meant very tight turn, I mean short base and even shorter final. And when landing, I noticed that windsock showed only 3kn, so I could go even for easier approach to rwy 26. But in the end 08 landing was with nice touchdown. I just hope passengers didn’t get scared from that tight turn.
Thank you! Hopefully we can get others to join us!
The stress of doing radio calls and watching out for other traffic in the pattern added a whole new level realism.
We were both in VR too.
Fun with the JPL C152, from Darrington to KPAE. I just finished reading all about VFR minimums (among many other things), and today’s flight was a perfect complement due to the cloud conditions.
After turning south out of the valley, I knew that soon I’d have to make a choice regarding VFR minimums. Visibility is more than 3 statute miles, and I feel like it won’t be too hard to avoid driving through a cloud.
Had to take this screenshot to attempt more realistic flight planning. Thanks to JPL for modeling the compass deviation!
Loving the scenery.
KPAE is coming up on the right, and the clouds are being pushed along on a 6KT wind from 200 degrees. It’s like they’re following me!!! Decision time is coming soon. At this point I was concerned whether I’d be able to duck under the clouds, or if I’d have to go around them. I ended up doing a bit of both, sadly I don’t think it would cut the muster IRL.
After a bit of slaloming, and possibly busting minimums (does it count if you can still see through the cloud?), made a horrible approach and a passable landing. My situational awareness needs some work, my understanding of approaches and patterns too. It’s funny that the further I progress in ground instruction, the harder FS seems to become. I’m looking forward to supplementing my studies with FS. After this flight I have at least five new questions for my instructor!
@duracellko Nicely done! I particularly like the following two shots. Could you advise which strips they are and whether part of the game or add-on please?
Thanks!
