I attempted to fly a nice short flight in the NorthWest US. It was beautiful but didn’t go well. My GPS navdata dissappeared and then I couldn’t hear ATC. I took her down and landed.
After a lousy time trying to get Content Manager to do its job, I was very glad to fly my Osprey from Friday Harbor up to Bella Coola.
Thick if patchy cloud cover meant that there were times when I didn’t have synthet- sorry, FLIR turned on just for show, and I was happy finally to be on approach to Bella Coola:
and even happier to have the sun shine on my arrival:
though it might be best if I don’t ask the owner of that Mini 500 for his opinion of my parking.
After the update finally worked, got a look at the TBM I got at Tenerife for a low low price:
The inside was already refurbished:
No time to fly with it today, sadly!
Partook in the community stream earlier this morning after a seamless upgrade to SU13, then checked out the new Navigraph G1000 charts plugin with a short hop between NZWN and NZWB. It was great to see another Sounds Air C208 as AI traffic at Wellington- my first time spotting one thanks to FSLTL
Flew the a310 from Kingston Jamaica to Costa Rica starting point for a world tour but only made it halfway due to running out of fuel and had to make a landing on some random little island halfway and it turned out to be Southwest Cay beach area
I haven’t posted any flights for a while, but my Fenix has been well travelled in the interim. Today I flew Greek islands from LGSM Samos to LGKR Kos.
The wind socks were engaged in a full-on argument as I taxied past without them even noticing.
My next flight was onward from Kos to LJLJ which I’m not going to try and spell. I didn’t take any shots of that one but it was quite scenic.
I finished Danube journey bush trip n WB-Sim C172 in real weather: LHBS LHBL LHPP
It was a bit windy, but luckily no turbulence. At first I didn’t plan to land at LHBL. The runway is too short for C172 (587ft length). Then I thought, maybe I can do only very gentle touch and then go-around. But when approaching the airport I found out there are trees at both ends of the runway. So I just got about 10ft above the ground, but never touched it. I don’t think there would be safe way for touch and go. Either I would be too fast to touch or I wouldn’t have enough energy to clear the trees at the other end of runway.
So after go-around I set direction Pecs Pogany. According to Little Navmap the airport was uncontrolled, but in MSFS I had to contact tower.
I’m about a 1/3 of the way through the Balkans “Bush Trip” in the C172 (G1000). Doing the Sinj (LDSS) - Mostar (LQMO) leg. Finally come to grips with the glass cockpit. Really wanted to use my BN-2 Islander. So I start each leg creating a map in Little Nav Map (my new best friend) so that I can have another go after with the Islander after.
The picture is of the Blue Lake.
Bonus picture parked up at Mostar between a set of 4 Islanders - What’s the chance?

Like many others probaably just trying to reset my sim and get all my addon, world updates etc sorted.
Managed to squeeze in a test flight though from LMML - LIRF, went pretty smoothly
nothing, because i cannot bypass this stupid update
Working on what is screwing up my Addons-Linker.
First flight post SU13 update and everything is working beautifully. An early morning flight heading back east from the Cincinnati area to southeast of Pittsburgh. Dense fog opening up to a nice fall day.

There are lots of crucial flying techniqes I urgently need to practise; so I decided to spend the afternoon on a lazy flight in the Ford Trimotor from San Diego* to Los Angeles.
The weather was, of course, typical southern California weather…
I was struck by how far up the coast from San Diego you could still find photogrammetry.
I eventually - the Ford Trimotor is not the fastest plane in the world - reached Los Angeles, where the weather was every bit as good as at San Diego.
Somewhere in those clouds are the Palos Verdes Hills. I was in two minds whether to go over or around, but eventually I found a couple of spherical objects rolling about on the floor of the cockpit, then two others on the summit of the Palos Verdes itself…
I eventually made it down off the hills and flew on to Santa Monica Airport, famed as the first home of the Douglas Aircraft Corporation, and where I chose to make my initial flights in the DC3.
I wasn’t sure what the etiquette was for landing a Ford at the home of Douglas, but the flak on approach wasn’t too heavy so I guess nobody minded too much…
… at least until they saw my parking. Should’ve rolled forward at least another fifteen feet.
I guess it’s not just crucial flying techniques I need to practise.
*I was in the middle of my breakfast cereal this morning when it struck me I’d typed ‘Seattle’ instead of ‘San Diego’ . Fixed the typo. Fixing the stoopidity, now…
